Chapter 653: Chapter 655 Men Should Not Kiss Each Other Indiscriminately

The two of them brought Dengdeng back to the Bai family. Bai Ruozhu took the child back to her room to rest, while Jiang Yichun went to the main hall to talk with Bai Yihong and Lin Ping’er. Bai Ruozhu glanced over before entering her room, guessing that they were discussing their wedding.

No, it’s not exactly a wedding, because they were technically already married and had even registered at the county government office. But Jiang Yichun must have been thinking the same as her, feeling that they still needed to have a proper ceremony. However, she didn’t want to rush things. It was better to wait until Jiang Yichun officially moved to the open position.

After feeding Dengdeng, the little one quickly fell asleep. She set Dengdeng down and exited the room. She then heard Jiang Yichun telling her parents about the past.

”At that time, I was severely injured by the traitors and fainted when I escaped to the Mountain Village. Thank God you saved me, but my injuries were too severe, and it obstructed my Qi flow, thereby making me lose my memory. Later, something happened between Ruozhu and me in the Back Mountain, and after waking up and feeling remorseful for my actions, I lost my footing and fell off the mountain,” he explained.

What he referred to as ”something happened” was when he and his former self accidentally picked the Hai Yanghua flower, and then something inappropriate occurred. Bai Ruozhu stopped walking. In other people’s eyes, she was Bai Ruozhu. But she knew it was different. It was her previous life’s incident, and she felt somewhat embarrassed about it.

”After the fall, I got internal injuries again and broke two bones. I was rendered immobile, but miraculously regained my memory. At that time, I feared causing you worry, so I wanted to hurry back home. But the critical condition made me faint again. By the time I gained some consciousness, seven or eight days had already passed. I was rescued by a merchant team heading to the capital city, and by then, I was thousands of miles away from the Mountain Village.”

He then recounted how the merchant team was attacked by mountain bandits, how he sought help from the government office and unexpectedly someone used a forgetfulness poison on him. But he didn’t mention that Wu Wanqing was the one who administered the poison, or her feelings towards him.

Bai Ruozhu scoffed inwardly. He was too embarrassed to mention it, wasn’t he?

”You’ve truly suffered a lot.” Bai Yihong patted his shoulder, clearly viewing him as a son.

”And so has our Ruozhu.” Lin Ping’er, who always doted on her daughter, grumbled discontentedly, ”But you two really are fated. At that time, neither of you remembered each other, yet you still ended up together.”

Upon hearing this, Bai Yihong laughed. He said, ”That’s what we call ’fated to meet even miles apart’.”

The two of them crossed not just thousands of miles, but even the distances of time and space to be together.

When night arrived, Jiang Yichun wanted to go to Bai Ruozhu’s room again with the excuse that he still hadn’t put his son to bed. As a father, shouldn’t he also soothe his son to sleep once?

Bai Ruozhu didn’t object like before, but she felt somewhat embarrassed. She blushed and turned to go back to her room, afraid of being seen by the others in the yard.

In the main hall, Lin Ping’er giggled and said to Bai Yihong, ”Look at Ruozhu, she’s still getting shy. She already has such a big child, what is there to be shy about?”

Bai Yihong also chuckled. ”Don’t tease her too much, you know how she gets when she’s upset.”

”I know. You see, we’ve been making things difficult for Chang Sheng lately, he even had to sleep in the servants’ quarters,” grumbled Lin Ping’er.

So, the two of them thought Bai Ruozhu has been in a mood these past few days because she’s worried it would be embarrassing if everyone saw them. It’s a good thing Bai Ruozhu didn’t hear that, or she surely would have choked on her words.

”Isn’t that all settled now? Maybe in a while we will have a little sister for Dengdeng.” Bai Yihong was laughing heartily.

Lin Ping’er brightened up. ”That would be great. Caiyue has already given birth, and if Ruozhu could add another one, our house would be so lively with so many children.”

”Ha-ha,” Bai Yihong retorted. ”Don’t celebrate too soon. You might find it too much to handle.”

Lin Ping’er glared at him. ”Are you stupid? Look at our current situation. If we can’t handle it, we can just hire some help. Is there such a thing as not being able to handle it?”

Bai Yihong thought about it and agreed, and the two of them started speculating about whether Caiyue would have a boy or a girl and whether Ruozhu could be having a baby girl, laughing boisterously.

As for Bai Ruozhu, she was feeding Dengdeng and trying to put him to sleep. In a little while, Jiang Yichun sneaked into the room. A faint smile actually lifted the corner of Bai Ruozhu’s mouth. But she soon blushed, pulled up the quilt to cover her exposed chest.

Dengdeng was already dozing off, but seeing his father come in, he instantly became excited. No longer bothered with his milk or sleep, he began to call out to his father. Amused at his father standing by the door without coming over, Dengdeng started inching towards the side of the bed like a little earthworm, lying on his back.

”Naughty boy, be careful!” Jiang Yichun, who was initially looking at his wife lovingly and thinking about how to express his tender feelings, hurried over in a flash to pick up Dengdeng, preventing him from rolling off the bed.

”You almost fell under the bed, you’re lucky your father has quick reflexes or your little head would have a big bump on it!” He held Dengdeng, who was excitedly waving his small arms, not knowing what he was trying to tell him, then suddenly hugged his head, leaned over and gave him a kiss on the face.

As Bai Ruozhu settled her clothes, she was fuming at Dengdeng’s excitement, ”The child was about to fall asleep and you woke him up again. Can’t you come a little later?”

”I thought he wasn’t moving anymore. I’ll be more careful next time.” Jiang Yichun responded with a fawning tone.

Bai Ruozhu came closer and glared at Dengdeng, ”You little ingrate, you didn’t even kiss your mother today!”

Dengdeng, not being able to speak well yet but understanding her words, grinned and leaned over to give his mother a peck on the lips.

Jiang Yichun quickly pulled him away and sternly said, ”Stinky boy, how can you kiss your mother on her mouth? That’s only for me to kiss. Don’t do it again next time, or your father will spank you!”

Dengdeng looked hurt with his lips pouting, he leaned towards Jiang Yichun planning to kiss him on the mouth. This time, Jiang Yichun was the one who felt embarrassed and started dodging from side to side, saying while dodging, ”Kiss on the cheek, kiss on the cheek. Men can’t kiss each other on the mouth!”

Bai Ruozhu was almost in stitches at the comedy going on right next to her. Men can’t kiss each other on the mouth, but they could kiss each other’s cheek? From Dengdeng’s reaction, it seemed like Jiang Yichun was the one competing for his mother’s attention.

Just when she finally stopped laughing, Dengdeng reluctantly but determinedly kissed Jiang Yichun on the lips. Although the child didn’t really know better and it was just a light peck, Jiang Yichun immediately blushed.

Bai Ruozhu burst into laughter, rolling around on the bed, hugging her stomach.

Dengdeng, the stubborn child, kissed his father’s mouth again when he was distracted. This time he even kissed with more force than before and then giggled.

Coming to his senses, Jiang Yichun shot a look at Bai Ruozhu and whispered in a loud voice, ”If you keep laughing like this, everyone in the yard will be able to hear you!”
