Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 697: Chapter 699: So that’s how it is, Scolding Xie Dun

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but prick up her ears, was there more to the story, was there another mastermind behind this? But what Mrs. Wang said next almost made Bai Ruozhu rush up and kick her a few times.

”They forced me! My belly remained silent, even a little concubine could climb over my head and lord it over me, I can’t stand it, I hate it, I hate it. If it weren’t for the support of my family, could the Wang Residence have a day like today? But even as the main mistress, I don’t live like one. My family’s silver has gone to the dogs!” Mrs. Wang seemed to be going mad, yelling regardless of decorum.

”What does that have to do with Mrs. Xie? Can’t you stand seeing others pregnant?” Bai Ruozhu asked impatiently.

”Anyone else, fine. But why did Mrs. Xie’s aunt collude with my aunt, come to my Residence to beat my main maid right in front of me, publicly ridicule me as a chicken that can’t lay eggs, and then brag that her nephew’s wife was carrying twins...”

Mrs. Wang rambled on, the majority of which was about how her aunt had joined with Deng Shi to humiliate her that day, and then cursed Wang Dianji for being ungrateful, crying all the while, chattering like a nagging woman.

Finally, her face suddenly changed, kneeling on the ground to clutch at Bai Ruozhu’s skirt, crying, ”I really didn’t want to do this, but they were too cruel, I don’t know how I ended up doing it, I really know I was wrong. Please spare my family.”

She spoke a lot, and Bai Ruozhu could tell she was indeed seriously humiliated that day. But you were wronged, you should take it out on the concubine and Deng Shi, what’s the point of targeting an innocent pregnant woman? Just because Deng Shi knows martial arts and she can’t handle Deng Shi, did she pick on Yu Hongxiu, the soft persimmon?

Or is it jealousy that Yu Hongxiu suddenly got pregnant with twins? But when Bai Ruozhu thought about it, Mrs. Wang’s situation was somewhat similar to Yu Bai. Both had no movement in their belly after marriage. Perhaps people are like this, if someone in a similar situation suddenly becomes much better than you, it becomes very difficult to accept mentally. Moreover, with Deng Shi’s humiliation, it’s no wonder Mrs. Wang was filled with hatred.

However, Bai Ruozhu had no intention of sympathizing with Mrs. Wang. All of these could not become reasons for her to harm others. She could seek revenge on Deng Shi, or even target the Xie Residence, but she shouldn’t have harmed Yu Hongxiu and her innocent unborn child!

”I’m not against letting the Zhou Family off, you should know that I have a way to bring down the Zhou Family.” Bai Ruozhu said with a cold sneer, ”As long as you turn yourself into the Government Office, admit that you previously instructed the maid to harm Mrs. Xie, I will spare your family. Now it’s up to you, if you have an ounce of conscience, you should take responsibility for your mistakes.”

”No, no, he will definitely divorce me, I can’t be divorced.” Mrs. Wang cried out.

”When your family collapses, you will be divorced anyway. It’s better for you to plead guilty alone than to harm everyone in your family.” Bai Ruozhu said coldly.

Mrs. Wang’s expression was extremely conflicted, her voice choked with emotion, ”Can I go and kowtow to Mrs. Xie, asking for her forgiveness?”

”No, you have broken the law and should pay the price.” Bai Ruozhu said while Lin Ping’er had already come out of the hall saying loudly, ”Don’t let her go to Hongxiu, it won’t make things better.”

”Miss Bai, Mrs. Xie is not hurt, right? Can’t you give me a chance to change?” Mrs. Wang begged pitifully.

Bai Ruozhu laughed in fury, ”What do you mean she’s fine? Does someone have to die for you to acknowledge your guilt? Don’t forget, there’s a maid who died because of you!” Bai Ruozhu saw that Mrs. Wang’s eyes were full of disagreement, as if to say that the life of a maid was lowly and worthless even if she died.

Bai Ruozhu felt disgusted by such a person and waved her hand irritably to shoo her away, ”Get out! This place does not welcome you, I give you one day to confess, or else don’t blame me for not waiting.”

After saying that, she gave the guard a cue, they immediately grabbed Mrs. Wang and threw her out the doorway.

”She’s too hateful, just for a fight with someone, she went to harm Hongxiu, she has a wicked heart.” Lin Ping’er was so angry she stomped her foot, wanting to chase after Mrs. Wang and give her a few kicks.

”That Deng Shi is also a troublemaker. She’s just trying to cause trouble for the Xie Residence. Why is she getting involved with someone else’s concubine?” Bai Ruozhu said with a cold face, ”After I have my meal, I will pay a visit to the Xie Residence.”

”Yes, we must talk to Mr. Xie, manage his family members, and don’t bother our Hongxiu.” Although Lin Ping’er used to respect Mr. Xie, she has been somewhat displeased because Hongxiu has been treated unfairly.

After lunch, Bai Ruozhu took a horse-drawn carriage to the Xie Residence, asked a servant and found out that the lady was taking a nap. Bai Ruozhu said, ”That’s fine, I need to see your master.”

”The master is entertaining guests, I’ll go and send a message.” The servant said.

Shortly, the servant returned and led Bai Ruozhu to Mr. Xie’s study. When Bai Ruozhu entered, she saw that the guest Mr. Xie was entertaining was Ji Ziyan. That was perfect, she could solve two problems at once.

Mr. Xie, seeing the furious Bai Ruozhu, asked in surprise, ”Ruozhu, do you have an urgent matter?”

Bai Ruozhu gave Ji Ziyan a look and said, ”Mr. Ji is a close friend of yours, so I won’t bother with too many niceties. Sir, do you still remember the incident some days ago when Sister Hongxiu nearly miscarried due to a plot against her at the Meng Residence?”

Mr. Xie’s face darkened instantly, ”I remember, I will not forget the good deeds Mrs. Wang has done.”

Bai Ruozhu snorted coldly, ”Mrs. Wang’s part has been taken care of by the old mistress and me, you don’t have to worry about it. You better take care of your own family affairs. If it weren’t for your aunt stirring up trouble everywhere, why would Mrs. Wang, who has no enmity with your family, hate Sister Hongxiu?”

”What? What did my second aunt do?” Mr. Xie looked shocked.

”Your second aunt is teaming up with the Wang family’s concubine, going to the Wang family to ridicule their lady for not having a child, she even publicly beat the lady’s main maid, mocking her for being a chicken that can’t lay eggs, and used the fact that Hongxiu is carrying two children to show off, creating enmity for Hongxiu. Even if she didn’t do it intentionally, this habit of stirring up trouble is too much, right?”

The more Bai Ruozhu talked, the angrier she became, ”Your Xie Residence doesn’t care about having your reputation ruined by such relatives, doesn’t fear attracting trouble, but don’t harm Hongxiu! She left her hometown to marry you, carrying two children in her belly, she can’t take being churned by your relatives like this!”

Bai Ruozhu was very harsh today. Normally, she should be very respectful to Mr. Xie, considering that he was her second brother’s mentor and had helped her family, she shouldn’t have been disrespectful to him after getting ahead. But, she really sympathizes with Yu Hongxiu and can’t stand Mr. Xie’s behavior these days.

Is he a good husband, a good father, if he can’t even protect his wife and child, let his relatives bully her under the name of an elder?
