Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 248: Chapter 248: Administering Medicine to Save Someone

In an instant, Bai Ruozhu felt as if she’d fallen into a cold pond. The other party had already somewhat guessed her identity and figured out that the poisonous tongue man didn’t indeed fall off the cliff.

The time was too brief, and she was worried about his injuries. She didn’t consider her thoughts carefully enough and failed to completely deceive the other party.

Only when the men in black had left did her icy hands and feet regain their strength.

Jiang Yichun was no longer in critical danger, but she was even more worried. How was she going to get down the mountain, or rather, how was she going to get him down the mountain?

Of course, she could keep him in her space for a few days without starving to death. If the searchers couldn’t find them, they’d naturally leave. But she couldn’t afford to wait, it was getting dark, and her son Dengdeng would need to be fed soon. The poor boy couldn’t go hungry; if he did, he’d cry incessantly.

Thinking of Dengdeng’s pitiful little face, Bai Ruozhu was almost driven to tears.

Before going out, she had thought about how climbing the mountain would make her sweat, so she had specifically not worn a jacket. But with all the chaos, her clothes were wet with sweat, sticking tightly to her body. Her face instantly turned red, especially because there was a man sitting before her - a man and a woman alone together - wouldn’t that be inappropriate?

Luckily, the poisonous tongue man was still unconscious, and she didn’t plan on waking him. Hence, he couldn’t see her. The embarrassment in Bai Ruozhu’s heart vanished as she once again started worrying about Dengdeng and her family.

If she didn’t return home for a while, would her family worry and come looking for her? Would the killers who saw them guess that she had saved Jiang Yichun? Would they harm her family?

Bai Ruozhu felt restless. She needed to find a way out, at least to go home and deliver a message.

Just as she was about to leave, she noticed a sudden change. Two people emerged from the shadows, one of which said, ”Seems like they’re not hiding nearby, let’s go.”

Bai Ruozhu was once again filled with cold sweat. If she had just left, she would have been doomed.

This time, she dared not move recklessly. Who knew if those two people were pretending and still hiding nearby?

She sat back down next to Jiang Yichun, pulled out some medicinal materials, and forced herself to calm down and cook him a medicinal soup. Once the soup was done, Bai Ruozhu faced another issue; the man was still unconscious, and it didn’t seem right to wake him up. How was she supposed to get him to drink the medicine?

Could it be... she suddenly thought of a scene often depicted in novels - administering medicine by taking it into her mouth and feeding it to him.

Oh, goodness, that was too much, wasn’t it? Her first kiss couldn’t just vanish like this, could it?

She wrestled with her thoughts for a while, then looked at Jiang Yichun’s pale face. Grinding her teeth, she finally took a mouthful of the medicine soup, leaning over to feed it to him.

The moment her lips touched his cold ones, she couldn’t help but shiver. She herself didn’t know whether it was due to nervousness or something else. All she felt was that his lips were cold, but touching them felt soft. That peculiar sensation was something Bai Ruozhu had never experienced in her past life, even after transmigrating.

Alright, she was getting distracted. The main task at hand was to get the soup into his mouth. She tried the method commonly written in novels, prying open his mouth with her tongue and then feeding the medicine soup in, but...

Bai Ruozhu had never kissed anyone before. For someone lacking even a smidge of kissing experience, wasn’t it unrealistic to have such high expectations?

So, despite her repeated attempts, she was unable to feed him the medicine soup. Either she spilled the medicine soup as soon as she extended her tongue, or couldn’t pry open his mouth at all.

Grinding her teeth, Bai Ruozhu tried changing her angle, but unexpectedly, the person below her stirred a little. At that instant, she had the feeling of getting caught in the act. The arm that was supporting her body lost strength, and she fell to the ground.

”Ouch, it’s killing me...” Bai Ruozhu rubbed her shoulder, which was throbbing from the fall and slowly stood up. Seeing that Jiang Yichun was still unconscious, she continued where she left off to feed him the medicine with her mouth.

”Dammit, I can’t even handle an unconscious man?” Bai Ruozhu cursed under her breath, and tried again. Suddenly, the man beneath her made a soft moan. Not knowing whether he was in pain or waking up, Bai Ruozhu was startled and dared not move. Unexpectedly, his mouth which she could never open, slightly parted. Before she could react, he was kissing her, prying open her teeth and sucking in the medicine soup from her mouth.

Jiang Yichun was only half conscious at the moment. Not knowing whether he was just thirsty or dreaming, he hungrily sucked on her lips. Bai Ruozhu was in a daze, her mouth feeling hot and numb, and she even forgot to pull away.

Snapping back to reality, she hastily lifted her body, reminding herself that she was saving someone, and she couldn’t lose her focus.

So, she took another mouthful of the medicine soup and fed him, once again. Jiang Yichun complied well and drank it down. Bai Ruozhu continued to feed him this way, allowing him to take advantage of her repeatedly. She forgot that now that he could open his mouth, she could just directly pour the medicine in. Why did she need to feed him mouth to mouth? Of course, this realization only came some time after everything was finished, hence she hit herself in the head, blaming men for leading her astray.

Jiang Yichun was very vague in his consciousness feeling as if he had fallen into an endless darkness, as if he would never wake up. At that moment, warm fluid flowed into his mouth, and he instinctively tried to capture it. The medicine soup that flowed into his mouth was extremely bitter, but he was captured by its fragrance. He wished the bitter and sweet sensation would continue forever.

However, the medicine eventually ran out. Unable to find the source of the fragrance, he began searching in desperation, even in his dreams. Even the endless darkness couldn’t stop him.

Bai Ruozhu washed the medicine bowl by the pond. As she turned around, she noticed that Jiang Yichun was about to wake up. She quickly rushed over and sealed off his vision with a silver needle.

”Ugh...” Jiang Yichun let out a very faint whimper. Not feeling much when he was holding back his noises before, he now found his body aching terribly as he laid on the ground, especially as his consciousness gradually returned; the pain was more pronounced.

”Am I still alive?” Clearly, Jiang Yichun was smarter than those who woke up and asked if they were dead. If he were dead, how could he feel pain? And if the pain was this intense, he must still be alive.

Bai Ruozhu breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, she had acted quickly. Otherwise, had Jiang Yichun seen her space, who knew what might happen next. Although a voice in her heart told her that he wouldn’t hurt her, she still sneered in her mind, laughing at her own wishful thinking.

”With me around, you’ll definitely not die. I even sewed your arm back together. Don’t move around, and it will recover quick. You better not act tough; don’t get me involved. I still have family and a child to take care of,” Bai Ruozhu was still thinking about her stolen first kiss and her ”wishful thinking.” Naturally, her mood plummeted, thus her tone wasn’t exactly pleasant.

Jiang Yichun believed she was still upset about before and said in an apologetic tone, ”It’s my fault that you got involved.”
