Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Save Him, A Bold Decision

Jiang Yichun was stunned. How could there be such a woman who brazenly spoke of stripping a man’s clothes off? This was simply...

... too...

He couldn’t find the right adjectives, or perhaps he was simply reluctant to use unkind words to describe her. It was some ill-fated destiny that they had crossed paths under such circumstances.

”If you don’t want to die in disgrace and be ridiculed, bare naked and ogled by others, cooperate obediently with me so that we can scram out of this place quickly,” Bai Ruozhu huffed quietly. But after saying those words, she felt a slight twitch at the corner of her mouth, unable to maintain her composure.

Ah hell, what a pace she was setting! She was almost becoming a female hooligan. She was making such a significant sacrifice. The mere thought of it rankled her all the more, and she glowered harder at Jiang Yichun.

”Don’t be foolish; you still have your child and other family members.” Jiang Yichun’s voice had softened, it was no longer as aloof as before. The way he looked at Bai Ruozhu didn’t carry disdain or impatience. Instead, it was filled with gratitude and admiration.

He knew she was trying to save him. Before death, meeting someone who was willing to risk their own life for his sake was enough! But he couldn’t allow her to throw her life away for his sake.

”There’s no more time. I will save you, and then safely return home.” Bai Ruozhu’s eyes were filled with the gleam of determination, leaving even Jiang Yichun unsure about the source of her confidence.

No longer wasting time with banter, she grabbed him and kept moving forward. Jiang Yichun wanted to resist but was powerless to do so. How the mighty have fallen; he couldn’t even best a woman.

Bai Ruozhu found Jiang Yichun’s intentional sabotage merely impeded their pace, hence in a fit of irritation, she stomped her foot and quietly retrieved a silver needle from her Space, quickly stabbing it towards Jiang Yichun. Despite the heavy injuries, Jiang Yichun could feel Bai Ruozhu’s swift stab with the silver needle but was powerless to dodge it.

She caused Jiang Yichun to lose consciousness once again, then took back her silver needle into her Space, and proceeded to pull Jiang Yichun towards a more concealed spot.

Indeed, it was faster to move with him unconscious. She was reluctant to carry Jiang Yichun down the mountain straight away, fearing they would be caught by the assassins before reaching the foot of the mountain. Thus, she planned to find a concealed spot and hide with Jiang Yichun in her Space.

This was undoubtedly a daring and risky decision. Dengdeng, being her son and incapable of revealing secrets, she naturally had no worries about bringing him into her Space, but Jiang Yichun was an outsider. Even if he had saved her life before and helped her on several occasions, he was still not entirely trustworthy.

However, she had no other options. If she were to flee with Jiang Yichun, they would inevitably leave traces behind, preventing them from escaping the aforementioned expert trackers. Therefore, she had to risk it all and try. If things turned for the worst, she’d find alternate solutions, such as not letting Jiang Yichun regaining consciousness, consequently not knowing his surroundings, or even blinding him so he wouldn’t know he was in her Space.

Ultimately, she reached a cliff. She yanked at Jiang Yichun’s clothes, scraping it against the thorny bushes nearby, leaving shreds of fabric dangling from it, then she carried Jiang Yichun into her Space.

Assassins tracking them would come to the conclusion that their quarry had fallen off the cliff once they discovered the abrupt end to their footprints.

Bai Ruozhu heaved a sigh of relief. She had decided against bringing Jiang Yichun into her Space right away. The reason being, they would have to leave the Space from the exact spot they entered. With little to no cover present, it would be too dangerous and suspicious to appear out of thin air.

Bai Ruozhu started applying needles to Jiang Yichun to control the poison in his body. She noticed that Jiang Yichun had blocked his acupuncture points to slow down the poison, and his internal strength had also played a certain role. Otherwise, the poison would have attacked his heart long ago.

Regrettably, the medicinal herbs in her Space were limited. She couldn’t completely neutralize the poison, only suppress it to prevent a risk to his life. They would have to find some way to procure more medicinal materials to completely purge the poison once they were out of danger.

She ripped his sleeve apart to inspect his arm wound, and couldn’t help but gasp at the sight. The wound was so deep that it revealed the bone. In addition to being incredibly profound, the wound had also damaged his muscles.

Bai Ruozhu sighed, thinking that he indeed had a lucky star, considering that he had bumped into her. Otherwise, this arm of his would have surely been wasted. Even if he knew medical skills himself, without any medicinal resources or tools at hand, he wouldn’t have been able to treat the wound on his own.

Even if she were to save his arm, it was likely that he wouldn’t be able to use the sword with that arm anymore, let alone use it for any heavy duty work.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t halt her movements; she reassured herself internally. Given how skilled he was with the sword in his left hand, not being able to wield his sword in the right hand wouldn’t be such a big issue. After all, the one-armed hero Yang Guo was still able to stand at the top.

Fortunately, ever since Bai Ruozhu discovered that her Space could store objects, she developed a habit of hoarding things. A lot of items were thrown into her Space, such as the needle and catgut sutures she was currently using.

These were the things she prepared quietly before childbirth. She knew that giving birth might cause tears in a woman’s nether regions. The people in ancient times had no way to treat it, other than letting it heal slowly. This was not only more painful but also led to intermittent bleeding. So, Bai Ruozhu prepared the needle and sutures in advance. She had made up her mind that if the tearing was severe, she would let Miss Liuyi, the lay doctor, stitch it up.

As for those who doubted how she came up with this idea of treating wounds, she would still stick to her story that it was taught to her by an Immortal in her dreams.

Thankfully, Dengdeng’s birth weight was well controlled. She only had minor tearing after giving birth. The items were left unused, and now they came in handy for Jiang Yichun.

She carefully stitched up his wound. Because the wound was extremely deep, it required stitching both internally and externally. She took great care and stitched for a long time, her eyes were sore with exhaustion by the time she finally finished.

At this moment, there was a stir on the ”liquid crystal screen” inside her Space. Someone was coming!

Bai Ruozhu held her breath. Although she knew her Space was safe, she could still feel the killing intent emanating from the assassins, causing a thin layer of sweat to coat her body.

”Sir, we have been unable to find any tracks beyond this point. It seems he might have fallen off the cliff,” a black-clothed assassin reported to another man who appeared to be the leader.

”Send someone to continue searching. We need to see a body, dead or alive!” The leader’s voice was extremely hoarse, as though he had a damaged voice box, however Bai Ruozhu could tell that he was doing it on purpose. He was using some special method or drug to alter his voice.

Several other black-clothed assassins bowed before disappearing with a ’swoosh’. Bai Ruozhu thought it was rather fantasy-like. Were the light skill of the people in ancient times so beyond common sense?

”You said someone helped him? Were you able to identify who it was?” The hoarse voice sounded again, Bai Ruozhu body broke out in a fresh cold sweat. She had been in a rush along the way, unsure if she had left any traces behind. She desperately hoped that they didn’t discover her identity and seek revenge at her home.

”No traces were left behind. However, based on the shoe prints and figure, the person seems to be of short stature, possibly a child or a woman.” The man who spoke was evidently skilled at tracking, deducing the height based on shoe prints.

”That guy was desperate enough to jump off a cliff; could the person helping him have jumped off as well? Keep conducting your search; there could have been intervention from some recluse expert.”
