Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 205: Chapter 205: The Whole Family Takes Action

This time, the Wang Family learned their lesson and didn’t dare to engage in arguments. Head lowered and not daring to make a sound, they whimpered about how they almost got killed.

It was at this moment that Bai Ruolan finally got up from the ground. Pointing at Bai Ruozhu, she sneered, ”It’s all your fault for letting her hit us. You’re nothing but trouble, you want our family to be miserable!”

Bai Ruozhu nearly burst out laughing. After all, who was trying to make whose life miserable? Her family was just trying to run a small business, but the old mansion had to interfere. There was no need for them, and yet they had to be taken care of, fed and given a share of their earnings. Where was the logic in that?

”Ruolan, be reasonable. We asked Ruozhu to take the children home because we had fewer guests in the afternoon. You may ridicule us all you want, but you had no right to insult Lai Fu’s wife. You’ve ruined our relationship with our neighbors. You brought this trouble upon us and made our lives difficult. Now you’re blaming us?” Lin Ping’er scolded, her hands on her hips. She didn’t dare to curse her sister-in-law, but she had no such reservations while dealing with her niece.

When Bai Ruolan wanted to retort, Fusa waved her fist, saying, ”Go away immediately, or else I’ll beat you, too!”

Bai Ruolan, who was essentially a coward, helped her mother leave. However, when she was far enough away, she turned back and shouted, ”Bai Ruozhu, wait for it! I’m going to tell Grandpa, we’ll see if he disciplines you!”

Bai Ruozhu sneered, eager to see what actions the old man would take. What could he do really? Could he just scream and curse? If he didn’t mind losing face, he should go right ahead. Her family had a good reputation, and the nearby businesses had all seen what happened over the past two days. Maybe the old man would choke on his own anger.

Even if it came to a fight, the old mansion was no match for them now. That prick Er Lang was confined to his bed.

Of course, the most important thing was that they had dirt on the Wang Family. It would be interesting to see how they’d try to act up again.

When the Wang Family finally left, Bai Ruozhu felt a bit guilty and said to Fusa: ”Sister-in-law, I’m sorry for dragging you into this.”

Fusa, feeling exhilarated after the fight, was in a particularly good mood. Her response came as a surprise, ”What nonsense are you talking about? I can’t stand her regardless of whether we’re close or not. I didn’t lose anything in this ordeal, so how did you drag me into anything?”

Bai Ruozhu felt genuinely apologetic. She had initially explained the dispute between her family and the Wang Family to Fusa to avoid any misunderstandings, but she hadn’t expected Fusa to dislike the Wang Family so much she would constantly stand up for them, even becoming the target of their insults.

Any woman would feel uncomfortable after being insulted in such a way. As a result, Bai Ruozhu felt partly to blame.

”If she comes again, just ignore her. It’s not right that you pick fights because of us.” Bai Ruozhu advised softly.

Fusa shrugged it off, ”I’m not afraid of offending such a person. She insulted me today, and we’ve crossed swords. Why would I fear her?”

Bai Ruozhu knew Fusa wouldn’t back down from Wang’s family, so she didn’t persist. However, she resolved if Fusa got into trouble because of this, she would definitely stand by the Lin Family.

After Bai Ruozhu had finished speaking to Fusa and returned to the iron pan, Bai Yihong came over and whispered to her: ”Lin’an Village, Niu Family.”

Bai Ruozhu gave her father an approving smile. She was impressed that her father had turned into a real-life secret agent, it was indeed very cool.

However, Bai Yihong grumbled, ”Next time don’t make me do such a thing, I was terrified that I’d seriously injure someone. I was so scared, I almost gave everything away.”

Bai Ruozhu bit back a laugh, ”Dad, situations like this won’t occur all the time. One episode was troublesome enough.”

Bai Yihong hurriedly nodded, ”Right, we can’t deal with such incidents every day. No one could bear that.”

Seeing that Bai Ruozhu wasn’t taking the child home to rest, Lin Ping’er urged her to do so, worried that she might wear herself out. After thinking for a while, Bai Ruozhu whispered to her, ”Dad, Mom, Brother, let’s wrap up the stall a bit early today. I’m planning a visit to Lin’an Village today. It shouldn’t take much effort as it’s near the town.”

”Weren’t we going tomorrow?” Lin Ping’er asked in confusion.

Bai Ruozhu shook her head slightly, ”I fear that auntie might bring trouble tomorrow. If we’re not around, I’m worried that Fusa and the others may suffer.”

”You’re right. We’ll be here tomorrow then, I’ll ask Er Lang to come over too.” Lin Ping’er agreed through gritted teeth.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t want to disturb her brother’s studies, but without better options, she had no choice. She didn’t expect Wang’s family to be so foul-mouthed and get beaten for it.

Then, Bai Ruozhu took Dengdeng home to sleep for a while. When she woke up, she left the little one with Guizhi then returned to the stall to help her family pack up.

The couple from the Lin Family, who were next to them, saw they were packing up early and quickly asked, ”Ruozhu, didn’t your family move to live in the town? Why are you wrapping up so early today? Did your aunt cause trouble?”

Fusa looked remorseful. Now that she had calmed down, she felt she might have overreacted.

Bai Ruozhu smiled and said, ”No, we are going to visit a friend, and it’s difficult to travel at night.”

Upon hearing this, Fusa heaved a sigh of relief, ”I see. You better hurry then and set up the stall early tomorrow.”

Before leaving, Bai Ruozhu made two hand pies for the Lin Family and didn’t even wait for Fusa to pay her before running off, calling back over her shoulder, ”Just give me a piece of tofu tomorrow morning.”

Fusa helplessly shook her head, turning to Lin Laifu and saying, ”Our tofu isn’t enough to compensate for her two hand pies.”

”Yes, let’s also send a few bowls of bean curd to the Bai family tomorrow.” Lin Laifu replied. He was an honest man and felt really bad about taking advantage of others.

Bai’s family pushed their cart back home and quickly got ready to leave. Bai Ruozhu timed it so Dengdeng had just finished his feeding when they were setting off. She handed Dengdeng to Fang Guizhi and asked her to take care of him along with Yu Hongxiu. Fang Guizhi smiled and said, ”The Madame will probably be over the moon. If she wasn’t so bashful, she would wish to hold Dengdeng all the time.”

Bai Ruozhu knew that Yu Hongxiu liked children and laughed along, ”This just goes on to show how charming my Dengdeng is. He doesn’t know how fortunate he is.”

”Except that this little troublemaker likes to move his hands everywhere,” Fang Guizhi whispered, giggling.

Bai Ruozhu burst out laughing. She glared at Fang Guizhi and said, ”If he doesn’t behave, spank his little bottom!”

”I don’t dare to. Not only would you guys kill me, but even Madame Xie would fight me.” Fang Guizhi teasingly stuck out her tongue, looking cheerful just like before.

Seeing Fang Guizhi no longer as dejected as before, Bai Ruozhu was relieved. It was indeed hard to accept being hurt so badly by one’s own parents.

Afterward, Bai Ruozhu and her family set off and soon arrived at Lin’an Village.

Upon seeing someone on the road, Bai Yihong asked for directions, ”Excuse me, can you please tell me the way to the Niu family’s residence?”

The passerby warmly gave them the directions and then asked, ”Are you relatives of the Niu family? I haven’t seen you in the village before.”

”My father accidentally bumped into the mother-in-law of the Niu family today in town. We are here to compensate them.” Bai Ruozhu quickly replied.
