Royal Secret: I'm A Princess!

”I’M JUST trying to make the fight as entertaining as possible.”

Neoma scoffed at Helstor’s remark. ”Do you think a war is a joke?”

Her voice was so cold and low that the temperature in the room dropped.

Even without seeing the physical bodies of the major gods around them, Neoma could tell that she just made them flinch.

I may talk carelessly, but I’ve never taken this war lightly.

”Ah, I misspoke,” Helstor said, taking back his words when he noticed that Neoma was this close to grabbing his throat. ”Princess Neoma, we both want to increase our chances of winning. Just bringing 3 Battle Representatives feels restrictive, doesn’t it? Moreover, accidents happen. What if our chosen representative suddenly couldn’t fight?” Helstor raised an eyebrow. ”Isn’t it smart to have reserve fighters on stand-by?”

That actually made a lot of sense.

Even sports teams have reserve players.

”I see your point,” Neoma said, tapping her fingertips on the table rhythmically. ”But the catch is the roll of dice, right? We will leave it up to luck when choosing the fighters for each round.”

”Correct.”

That meant Neoma couldn’t match her representative against the opponent.

But the same rule applies to Helstor.

It was pretty tempting, but...

”If you weren’t such a coward, I would have accepted that change in a heartbeat,” Neoma said, shrugging. ”But I can tell that you’re just bringing children to fill all the spots for your Battle Representatives. You know damn well that my children and I can’t kill kids, even if the said kids were trained to kill.”

Helstor just smiled, neither confirming nor denying his evil plan.

”It doesn’t matter to me whether you push through your boring plan or not,” Neoma said, leaning against her seat while crossing her arms over her chest. ”But, if you do that, I’ll break the rules and attack you directly. I don’t mind losing the battles as long as I win the war.”

”I can’t believe I’m hearing that from an Imperial Princess.”

”Hey, all is fair in love and war.”

”As long as I don’t fill all the spots with children, then you’ll accept it. Is that right, Princess Neoma?”

”I’ll decide once I see the final line-up during the fight.”

”But it seems like you’re open to negotiations now.”

”Yeah. But don’t expect me to close any deal today. I’m not making a new contract without Trevor.”

”Ah, I was hoping to tempt you to finalize a new contract today, knowing that Trevor Kesser isn’t with you,” Helstor said, his voice full of regret as he glanced at Ruto. ”It seems like Commander Solfrid isn’t just here to calm you down, Princess Neoma— the commander is also here to serve as your voice of reason.”

Ruto just ignored Helstor. ”Neoma, try this.”

Neoma opened her mouth when Ruto offered her a dessert that didn’t look familiar to her.

But she trusted her man, and yes, the dessert was tasty.

I can tell it’s made of expensive ingredients.

”Have this tea, too,” Ruto said while carefully handing the beautiful teacup to Neoma. ”It’s made by Aspen’s father.”

”The God of Booze?”

”He’s also good at making tea.”

”Oh.” Neoma took a sip of the tea, and Ruto was right. ”Wow. It really tastes divine.”

Ruto gave her a small smile, obviously satisfied that he had fed her well today.

”Now you’re just blatantly ignoring me,” Helstor complained lightly. ”Are we done talking here?”

”Are you crazy? We’re far from done here,” Neoma shot back. ”You haven’t explained yet why you suddenly dragged Skylus and Monik into this war.”

Now the kids are excited to come with me and join the fight!

”Oh, I mentioned them not only because they are kids, but because they represent the Moon God and the Light Goddess,” Helstor explained. ”I’m also bringing in the saint and the saintess who represent me.”

Neoma raised an eyebrow. ”The God of Eternal Darkness has a saint and a saintess?”

”I’ll introduce them to you later, Princess Neoma.”

”Okay. But are you planning to make the saints and saintesses fight each other?”

”In a different way,” Helstor said, leaning against his seat this time. ”Saints and saintesses are blessed with overflowing divine power. You can say that they can serve as our ’healer’ during the fight. Moreover, Lord Levi wouldn’t let us damage the Upper World during the battles.”

Ah, Neoma finally got what this bastard god was trying to say.

The former Saint Dominic Zavaroni was her first mentor— the master who taught her how to create powerful and sturdy shields.

He also taught my Aunt Nichole the same things.

In short, saints and saintesses were naturally built to create barriers with their divine power.

So, Helstor is planning to make the kids create a barrier to protect the Upper World.

”Aha. I get it,” Neoma said while nodding her head. ”If the saints and saintesses are going to fight that way, then let us—”

”Neoma,” Ruto said, cutting off Neoma carefully. ”Think about what you’re about to say.”

Oops.

Neoma almost verbally agreed to Helstor’s proposal.

Thankfully, Ruto was there to stop her.

I almost got baited!

Helstor shot Ruto a cold glance. ”You’re really annoying, Commander Solfrid.”

Ruto just smirked at the God of Eternal Darkness.

”Okay, let’s end this conversation here for now,” Neoma said, getting up from her seat because she was already done talking to Helstor. ”Ruto, I want to visit my divine father-in-law.”

TSK.

Nero was annoyed that the Soul Beast that Helstor brought to the Imperial Palace immediately ran away when he ’smelled’ children.

And the ’children’ in question were the Silver Foxes.

He saw everything that happened the moment the killer Soul Beast tried to attack the ’kids.’

Lewis Crevan stopped him easily.

And he could tell that Lewis Crevan could kill the Soul Beast if he really wanted to.

”William, go and stop that stupid Soul Beast.”

”As you wish.”

William then disappeared from his side, showing up at the ”crime scene” in just the blink of an eye.

”Your Imperial Majesty, I don’t like that Soul Beast.”

Nero heard Melvin Luchessi, but he ignored him.

”And now that Sir Crevan personally saw the Soul Beast attack the young Silver Foxes unprovoked, I’m sure Princess Neoma will hear about this,” Melvin Luchessi added. ”Moreover, I don’t think the Soul Beast would be useful in the war if Sir Crevan already overpowered him. Of course, I know it’s because Sir Crevan is an amazing fighter. But—”

”Shut up, Melvin.”

”Yes, sire.”

Nero then started walking towards where the Silver Foxes were gathered.

I can’t make enemies out of them after I just convinced them to fight with us.

Unfortunately, when he arrived, all the Silver Foxes were already giving him suspicious glances.

Even Lewis Crevan was glaring at him.

”Everyone, I apologize for this incident,” Nero said, glancing at the Soul Beast that William grabbed by the scruff of its neck. ”A wild Soul Beast has accidentally escaped from its cage. I’ll punish that child properly.”

”What ’child?’” the violent Soul Beast complained. ”I’m older than you—”

Nero snapped his fingers and, just like that, the Soul Beast literally turned into an ice statue. ”William.”

He didn’t have to say another word.

William just sighed before disappearing with the frozen Soul Beast.

I didn’t use powerful ice, so William should be able to thaw that rascal.

”Your Imperial Majesty, is that the Soul Beast that you’re going to ask Princess Neoma to join our team?”

Ah, it seemed like Neoma had shared that much with Lewis Crevan.

”What is it to you, Lewis Crevan?”

”I won’t let that Soul Beast join us, Your Imperial Majesty,” Lewis Crevan said coldly. ”I’ll kill him if I have to.”

Haaah.

”It seems like my twin sister has spoiled you too much, Lewis Crevan,” Nero said coldly. ”Should I remind you of your place?”

When he stepped forward, Lewis Crevan suddenly switched to ’fight mode...’

... as well as the other Silver Foxes.

Hah!

Why are these bastards suddenly acting like a pack?

”Huh? Silver Foxes?”

”Amazing. I thought they were already wiped out in this era.”

Ah.

Nero looked up and was greeted by his ancestors.

Aruna and Arche de Moonasterio are finally back.

”IT’S BEEN a while, Divine Father-in-law,” Neoma said, smiling brightly at Lord Levi. ”I brought myself as a present. Looking at my beautiful face should be enough to make you feel better.”

Lord Levi just took one glance at Neoma, and then he sighed. ”I really don’t want to see you right now, Princess Neoma,” he said, sipping his tea. ”You’re treating the Upper World as if it were your personal battlefield without my permission.”

”But won’t the Upper World belong to me in the future anyway?”

”What are you talking about?”

”Ruto will inherit the Upper World from you someday, Divine Father-in-law. So, when Ruto and I get married in the near future, then everything he owns will be mine.”

Lord Levi looked at Neoma in disbelief.

Ruto, on the other hand, just nodded in agreement with everything that Neoma said.

”You’re really trying to kill me early, aren’t you?” Lord Levi complained, grabbing the back of his neck. ”If you’re only here to say nonsense, then leave.”

”Divine Father-in-law, I’m not that shameless to come here just to show my beautiful face to you,” Neoma said, smiling. And then she got up from her seat, looking around. Her eyes had probably turned glowing red already. ”I’ll get rid of those bastards for you.”
