Royal Secret: I'm A Princess!

”THIS IS our Treasury, Your Majesties.”

Mona didn’t expect Duke Gilbert Exton, Glenn’s father, to bring them to House Exton’s Treasury without making a fuss.

After all, even the royal family didn’t have power over the nobles’ wealth.

Unless they committed a crime worth seizing their riches, of course.

Anyway, it still felt surreal to be addressed as ’Your Majesty,’ even after they had crowned Nero as the new emperor.

I suppose our family can’t live normally since my husband and children are still royals.

”Are you giving us permission to enter your Treasury, Duke Exton?” Nikolai asked, obviously suspicious of how compliant the duke was acting. ”Just so you know, we’re here to raid your treasures.”

”I am aware, Your Majesty,” Duke Gilbert Exton said. ”I heard my newly born granddaughter is special, and that the first thing she asked for is our family’s Treasury. It’s not something that I can ignore.”

Aha.

Mona realized what Duke Gilbert Exton was thinking while looking at Selene with great interest.

Yes, Queen Brigitte insisted on coming with them with her newborn baby.

Mona gave the queen a potion that helped her regain her strength.

But it’s only temporary— the queen still needs a proper rest.

”After all, my granddaughter might inherit the dukedom someday.”

Now that women were allowed to inherit titles in the empire, it was no wonder that Duke Gilbert Exton would consider Selene as the future duchess of his dukedom.

There was already a great precedent, after all.

Hanna definitely served as a good example to every single noble household in the empire— a competent lady who became an even more competent duchess.

However...

”Father-in-law, how could you say that when Lord Grey is your official successor?” Brigitte complained lightly, referring to Glenn’s brother and the official successor of House Exton. ”If Lord Grey were here, he would have been hurt by your statement.”

”Don’t worry about that, Your Majesty,” Duke Gilbert Exton assured Brigitte. ”Grey isn’t attached to his title as you might think.”

Mona wanted to listen more to the conversation.

After all, as the emperor’s mother, it’s my job to be aware of what’s going on in the noble households that my son oversees.

Nikolai was also doing the same thing.

However, Mona was distracted when Selene— the baby in Brigitte’s arms— started letting out small cries.

”What’s wrong, sweetheart?” Brigitte asked worriedly. ”Are you hungry?”

Selene continued crying while extending her tiny hands in Mona’s direction.

Oh, the baby has something to say.

”Brigitte, may I hold your daughter’s hand again?”

”Yes, Your Majesty.”

”Thank you,” Mona said, and then she held Selene’s hand once again. ”What’s wrong, Selene? Is this not the place you want to see?”

”Not this Treasury— the other one!”

”Oh, I see,” Mona said, glancing at Duke Gilbert Exton. ”There’s another Treasury, huh?”

Duke Gilbert Exton flinched, obviously surprised that his granddaughter knew about the ’other’ Treasury.

Brigitte’s daughter is amazing.

”What are you waiting for, Duke Exton?” Nikolai asked impatiently. ”Bring us to the right one.”

Duke Gilbert Exton sighed, and then he looked at Brigitte. ”You and your newborn baby can’t come with us this time, Your Majesty,” the duke said sternly. ”The other Treasury is a graveyard, after all.”

THE STATUES are alive, huh?

Glenn felt a shiver down his spine, and this time, it wasn’t just because of the cold.

”Daddy, are those foxes Lewis Oppa’s family?”

My daughter has really inherited Princess Neoma’s strange manner of speaking...

”Monik, we should go back for now,” Glenn said cautiously. ”I’ll report this to the emperor first.”

Yes, he was the king of Hazelden Kingdom.

Hence, he had the authority over the frozen foxes that were discovered in his land.

However, the Silver Fox Clan belongs to the Moonasterion Empire— this is something I should report to His Imperial Majesty.

”Oh, look at what we have here~”

Glenn would have drawn his sword had he not recognized the playful tone.

”Uncle Trevor!”

”Why am I your ’uncle,’ little girl?”

Glenn furrowed his brows when he realized that Trevor— the genius Sorcerer— didn’t come alone.

Trevor had someone draped over his shoulder like a bag of potatoes.

That figure looks familiar...

”Lord Trevor, is that Lord Delwyn?” Glenn asked nervously. ”The Ice Spirit?”

The last time Glenn saw Delwyn was when the Ice Spirit tried to calm the Frost Wynverns back at the Exton Estate.

But the Ice Spirit retreated back to the Hazelden Kingdom after that.

Lord Delwyn likes how it never stops snowing here.

”Yeah, I picked him up when I got a special message from the Moon Princess.”

”Isn’t Lord Delwyn supposed to be sleeping...”

”So what?” Trevor casually dropped Delwyn on the snow-covered ground. The Sorcerer even lightly kicked the Ice Spirit in the side. ”Yo. Wake up and unfreeze Lewis’ relatives.”

Delwyn slowly stirred to life, obviously looking annoyed.

But the Ice Spirit’s attention quickly focused on the frozen foxes, obviously assessing them one by one.

”No, I can’t unfreeze the foxes.”

”Why not?” Trevor complained. ”It’s just ice, and you’re the Ice Spirit.”

”Those foxes aren’t just frozen in ice— they are also frozen in time,” Delywin explained, his eyes now glowing. ”They are protected with a powerful spell.”

”I knew the ice was mixed with a powerful spell, but I didn’t expect that you couldn’t undo it, Delwyn. But maybe it’s my time to shine,” Trevor said, rolling his sleeves up to his elbows. ”I’m not the Devil’s Grimiore for nothing.”

”Wait, don’t be hasty, Sorcerer,” Delwyn said, finally getting up. ”You’re the Devil’s Grimiore, so check the spell first.”

Trevor nodded, and then he placed a hand on one of the frozen foxes.

The Sorcerer’s eyes glowed for a moment.

”Ah, it’s the kind of spell that could only be undone by using a key used to freeze time,” Trevor said, and then he looked at Glenn. ”The key is in your family’s possession, Your Majesty.”

Glenn pointed at himself, pretty surprised. ”You mean, the key is in House Exton?”

MONA shot Duke Gilbert Exton a cold look.

Now he understood why the duke didn’t want Brigitte and Baby Selene in that ’Treasury.’

It wasn’t just because the entire room was an underground graveyard, but also because...

”Why do you have it, Your Grace?” Mona asked coldly. ”Why do you have the Silver Fox King’s corpse?”

The corpse was in good condition, too.

It was as if the Silver Fox King was frozen in time.

However...

It’s still just a corpse— not an ounce of life force is left in it.

Yes, the treasure that Selene must be talking about was the Silver Fox King’s corpse— something that should have been burned to ashes a long time ago.

”The Imperial Family hunted down the Silver Foxes for their Marbles before, but I’m pretty sure that my scumbag of a father burned them down one by one— especially the Silver Fox King’s corpse,” Nikolai said sternly. ”How come it’s here, Duke Exton?”

”We stole it, Your Majesties,” Duke Gilbert Exton confessed, bowing his head. ”We stole the Silver Fox King’s corpse before it got burned to ashes.”
