Royal Secret: I'm A Princess!

1001 LOSING THE PRIVILEGE

”TRAITORS!”

”How could you say that when the de Moonasterios were the reason we suffered?!”

”Whether the new generation has nothing to do with the past or not, every single de Moonasterio should taste the same pain that we had been through!”

A fight broke out naturally between the side who wanted to stay as Soul Beasts and the side who wanted, well, to kill the de Moonasterios.

Nero’s ears hurt this time.

Hence, he couldn’t just keep his mouth shut for long.

”This is why I’ve gathered you here,” Nero said, raising his voice a little. However, he remained calm. He only spoke again when he finally got everyone’s attention again. ”I will take those who wish to stay as Soul Beasts with me, and I will send the remaining ones to the Afterlife.”

[And this is what Neoma calls as ’free will.]

Nero had to say that it wasn’t fun.

In fact, he was just putting up with it because of Neoma. If it was him, he would just order the Soul Beasts and lead them like the tyrant that he was supposed to be.

”Send us to the Afterlife?”

”You’re already dead,” Nero said bluntly. ”Whether you like it or not, you cannot stay in the human world for too long as vengeful Spirits. Even if it wasn’t me, there were many strong people there who could exorcise you.”

Thankfully, the angry male Rosehearts who wouldn’t stop shouting earlier had shut their mouths this time.

It was as if they had finally realized the gravity of the situation.

And now they looked scared.

”What will happen to those who wish to stay as Soul Beasts?”

Finally, this what was he was waiting for.

Nero opened his arms, gesturing to the vast green field where they were currently at. ”This will be the new home of the Soul Beasts. You’re no longer be caged. Moreover, instead of being born with a de Moonasterio, you’ll have the choice whether to summon to their call or not.”

It was the ”revision” that Neoma made.

A revision that would mean no de Moonasterios would be born with a Soul Beast again.

[In short, Neoma and I will be the last de Moonasterios to ever be born with a Soul Beast.]

”We don’t understand, young de Moonasterio.”

”The old system forces us to be born once a de Moonasterio is born. And then we forget the memories of our old master once we serve another.”

”How can you change that?”

Right?

To be honest, Nero and Neoma hadn’t figured out the ”how” part yet.

[I mean, we have an idea. But executing it wouldn’t be easy.]

But he had a feeling that it was his job as the first male Roseheart in a while to figure it out.

”My twin sister and I decided that the Soul Beasts should only come out if they feel like the de Moonasterios summoning them are worthy,” Nero said, avoiding the question that he couldn’t answer clearly yet. Avoiding it was better than making false promises. ”Hence, once the new generation of the de Moonasterios are born, we will teach them how to summon Soul Beasts. To simply put, the new generation has to prove themselves to you first. They won’t be entitled to being born with a Soul Beast anymore.”

It was a privilege that was hard to let go for Nero, even though the idea itself was from Neoma.

The Soul Beasts were useful, after all.

However, his father agreed to Neoma’s decision.

Hence, Nero had no choice but to follow the majority’s vote.

[It won’t be my problem anyway. And, if ever my future child doesn’t have what it takes to summon a Soul Beast, then they don’t deserve it.]

Oh, well.

”Then I’d like to stay in the Abyss and wait for my new master.”

”We want to hear your plan, young de Moonasterio.”

Fortunately, the angry male Rosehearts had finally calmed down.

”Then listen to me,” Nero said, relaxing a bit now that the shouting was over. ”The Abyss will serve as the sanctuary for the Soul Beasts— and you’ll get to choose your own leader, too.”

NEOMA stood up, about to scold Lewis for using poison because it wasn’t supposed to be his style!

[He’s supposed to be One-Kick Lewis!]

However, she stopped when she felt a pair of eyes staring daggers at her.

It sent shivers down her spine.

However, one thing bothered Neoma.

[Why do those eyes feel familiar?]

”Lady Quinzel, we should treat your wound.”

Hmm?

Neoma was surprised when Lewis walked towards her.

[He’s okay with physical contact here?]

That was what she thought.

To her surprise, she saw Lewis putting on several gloves.

[He’s probably doing that to avoid direct skin contact with me.]

That was cute.

Neoma couldn’t help but laugh while shaking her head. ”Don’t worry, Lewis. I can heal myself.”

As a de Moonasterio, she already had the natural ability to heal light wounds.

But ever since Vespera, the Black Phoenix, had become her Soul Beast, her healing abilities improved. Moreover, she also gained a powerful regeneration ability.

[So, even if my limbs get severed in the future, I’ll be fine.]

Probably.

”Ta-da,” Neoma said, showing her hand to Lewis. ”Look, the wound is gone now.”

To be honest, it was hardly a secret.

[I have all the physical features of a de Moonasterio, after all.]

Neoma couldn’t remember if she dyed her hair black or something in this timeline, though.

”My lady, you should come back wherever you came from,” Lewis said, his voice slightly threatening. ”We’re here to fight a dangerous group of pirates.”

Oh?

Her ears perked up when she heard that.

”Pirates?” Neoma asked excitedly. ”Take me with you!”

[I can’t wait to meet Pirate Hanna!]

”YOU LOOK PATHETIC.”

Manu let out a sigh and shook his head, annoyed at Sienna’s appearance.

It was annoying that the Sun Priestess arrived when he hadn’t changed back to his human form.

Yes, he was still a black panther.

So, now, Sienna was sitting on his back while drinking a glass of red wine.

”Get off me—”

”What happened?” Sienna asked, cutting him off. ”I lent you my divine power. You should have enough to send Princess Neoma’s group to the Dead World safely.”

Right?

”A strange force has overtaken me while I was sending Princess Neoma’s group off to the other side,” Manu said in a serious voice. ”I saw it— it was a pair of red eyes that I didn’t recognize.”
