Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Looking at the squad leader who wanted to say something but hesitated, Ye Jian smiled politely and said, ”Squad leader, although I’m a lieutenant, I’m a lieutenant in the army, not a lieutenant in the air force. You’re still my squad leader. If you have anything to say, just say it.”

The squad leader felt a little embarrassed. ”It’s nothing much. I just want to remind you that although the basic training of the two armies is similar, our airborne troops insist on multi-purpose training, and our technical training is very different from that of the infantries. You should know it after half a year of training, so I won’t say more. Your basic training is good, but your technical training… still… needs to be improved.”

This was a tactful reminder to Ye Jian that she was transferred from the army. Her foundation was good, but her technical training had to be improved.

Ye Jian smiled and nodded. ”Thank you for your reminder, squad leader. I understand.”

She thanked her politely, but that just made the squad leader feel even more uncomfortable.

The squad leader nodded vaguely and didn’t dare to look at Ye Jian anymore. The real Ye Jian had a sharp aura that made the squad leader tense. Even if Ye Jian was smiling at her, she couldn’t relax.

Just in time, the 13 female soldiers arrived one after another. They glanced at Ye Jian from the corner of their eyes and had different thoughts.

Ye Jian was really fast. She even beat the squad leader.

They gathered in formation and started the next round of training.

Lu Hui and the other three had already partnered up. Guo Cui wanted to partner up with Ye Jian, but in the end, she partnered up with Fang Xin. Li Xiushui and Tang Liyin formed a team. The other female soldiers also formed their own teams. The squad leader and deputy squad leader formed a team as usual.

The squad leader looked at Ye Jian, who was still alone. She pursed her lips slightly and glanced at the female soldiers who had formed teams in advance. These girls were still the same as before. They didn’t change because of Ye Jian.

”Ye Jian, you go last. I’ll partner with you,” said the squad leader. The squad leader and the deputy squad leader usually took turns to partner up with Ye Jian in the past, and it was the same now.

However, something about today was different. In the past, Ye Jian would reply weakly, ”Alright.” Now, Ye Jian stood tall and straight. She said calmly and confidently, ”Squad leader, I want to try doing it alone.”

One could still hear the sound of breathing on the training ground, but suddenly, it fell silent. Even the air seemed to have frozen. Nothing happened for a long time.

Fourteen gazes gathered on Ye Jian. All the female soldiers looked at Ye Jian with dark eyes.

She actually wanted to complete it alone? Really? Was she trying to be brave?

”The chest targets on both sides need two people to complete it together. If you don’t reach the standard, you’ll be punished to run five kilometers. Think carefully.”

Lu Hui took a look and lowered her eyes slightly.

In the past, when Ye Jian and the squad leader were partners, she implicated the squad leader and they had to run five kilometers together.

So, what difference did it make whether she did it alone or with another soldier?

”I’ve thought about it.” Ye Jian smiled. ”In the past, you and I were punished to run five kilometers together. If I can’t reach the standard, there’s no difference between doing it alone and with another person.”

The female soldiers couldn’t help but purse their lips and smile. Lu Hui glanced at Ye Jian in surprise. Ye Jian had changed. She actually knew her limits.

As soon as Lu Hui had the thought, Ye Jian said it out loud.

The squad leader wanted to laugh too, but she endured it.

She stared at Ye Jian for a while. After confirming that Ye Jian didn’t have any intention of changing her mind, she nodded and agreed.

Seeing the squad leader agree, the female soldiers exchanged glances with each other.
