Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

The foothills of this exercise were located at the junction of East and Central China. Part of the location was in the southwest. If they flew back to the military unit in a straight line, they would have to pass through several provinces, not to mention that they needed to add fuel halfway. Also, the large transport planes chose to fly at night. They took off at six in the afternoon and arrived at the military unit at dawn the next day.

The exercise lasted for seven days. Coupled with the time on the road, it actually took nine days. This meant that Ye Jian had left the female soldier class for nine days.

She didn’t appear among them for nine days. The female soldiers were much calmer now than in the first three days of her disappearance. They didn’t see Ye Jian for nine days, and it seemed like she had really left.

The squad leader and deputy squad leader also thought that Ye Jian had left the airborne military unit and returned to her original army unit.

Nine days ago, Captain Lei came personally to take Ye Jian away with a dark expression. He only said, ”I’ll take her away first.” He didn’t explain anything else before taking Ye Jian away.

All the female soldiers thought that Ye Jian would return to the dormitory at around 1:00 am as usual. However, the next morning, the whistle blew and they realized that Ye Jian didn’t come back. The mattress was square, and the bed was flat without any creases.

Everyone knew that Ye Jian was personally taken away by Captain Lei last night. Hence, the female soldiers didn’t think too much about it. They reported it to the squad leader, who only said, ”I understand.”

She thought that Ye Jian would return to the team in the day, but Ye Jian didn’t! Ye Jian didn’t even come back at night!

The squad leader hurriedly went to look for Captain Lei. The soldier on duty told the squad leader that Captain Lei had something on and would only be back in about ten days.

She went to look for Instructor Luo but couldn’t find him.

No one knew where Ye Jian went. A living person seemed to have disappeared after being taken away. No traces of her were found.

After such an uneasy night, Ye Jian still didn’t come back the next day. The female soldiers were all nervous. They didn’t see her for a day or two. Where did she go?

The squad leader started to panic too.

As the squad leader, she didn’t know where her soldier had gone. How could she not panic?

It was not until the officer sent someone over that she knew that Captain Lei had brought Ye Jian out of the military unit. As for the exact reason, it was inconvenient to reveal it. The officer told the female soldiers not to be anxious and that Ye Jian was fine.

It turned out that Ye Jian was brought out by Captain Lei. The squad leader finally calmed down. After telling the female soldiers, they all started guessing.

”That night, when Captain Lei came over, his expression was so dark that I didn’t dare to look at him. It should be a bad sign that he took Ye Jian away.

”Captain Lei always has a dark look on his face. However, every time he looks at Ye Jian, his expression gets darker and his voice gets colder. One look and you can tell that Captain Lei has a bad impression of Ye Jian too.”

”Do you think… Captain Lei sent Ye Jian back to her old military unit directly and didn’t allow her to stay?”

”Sigh, that’s possible! Since he personally sent her back to her old military unit, he probably needs some time.”

”In the blink of an eye, more than half a year has passed. Alas.”

”Time flies. It’s been half a year.”

For three consecutive days, Ye Jian didn’t return to the military unit. The female soldiers seemed to think that Ye Jian had been sent back to her old military unit by Captain Lei. Even the company leaders thought so.

In private, the female soldiers didn’t discuss it anymore. They were just much quieter than usual.

When they returned to the dormitory in the afternoon and at night, they would look at the empty upper berth from time to time. They would purse their lips slightly, their eyes going dark.

The atmosphere in the dormitory wasn’t good either. It was a little low. Even Lu Hui wasn’t as talkative as usual.

They had been together for half a year. Although she hoped that Ye Jian would leave the team as soon as possible, she didn’t feel good when Ye Jian really left. It was good, though. Ye Jian wouldn’t drag them down during the training anymore.

But there was one less person in the team, and she wasn’t used to it.
