Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

When Song Zhiqiu came in, Xu Wen and He Jing had just finished packing their luggage. They agreed to visit Ye Jian at the hospital at around 3:00 pm.

When He Jing saw Song Zhiqiu coming over, she nudged Xu Wen gently. ”The two of you can talk for a while. I’ll take care of the rest. Talk properly. Don’t fall out with him again before you can say anything.”

One was assigned to the Guangdong Province while the other would continue to stay in school for postgraduate studies. The lovers who had been able to see each other every day were going to be separated. That feeling… He Jing felt her own heart aching.

Xu Wen glanced at Song Zhiqiu. Before she could say anything, her eyes were already red.

They were not the only couple on campus. Besides the two of them, there were other lovers who had gone their separate ways. No pair was assigned to the same base.

Those who were lucky were assigned to the same province.

Ye Jian, who was in a low mood, leaned against her seat and turned her head to look out of the window. Xia Jinyuan could only see her slender back.

Both of them were wearing military uniforms. Even if they wanted to get closer, they had to take care of their image.

This time, Xia Jinyuan didn’t disturb Ye Jian. It was good to let her be alone.

When they reached the hospital and closed the ward door, Xia Jinyuan bent down and hugged his girlfriend who was sitting in the wheelchair. ”Cry for a while. If you’re tired, sleep for a while.”

Ye Jian, whose head was resting on his broad shoulders, slowly closed her eyes. She nuzzled his neck like a cat and rubbed against it. The refreshing and familiar smell gradually soothed the sorrow in her heart.

After a while, she said softly, ”I don’t want to cry. I just can’t bear to part with them. We’ve been classmates for four years. I couldn’t even properly say my goodbyes to them. I don’t know when we’ll meet again.

”Captain Xia, did you meet your classmates again after graduating?”

Xia Jinyuan, who was avoiding her wounds and caressing her back, thought for a moment and shook his head. ”I haven’t seen them once since we graduated. I only contact them occasionally by email.

”A few students from your class are assigned to the Hakkar encampment. I also have two comrades in the Hakkar encampment. Later, I plan to buy some specialties from Xiang City and get your classmates to bring the specialties to them so that the seniors there will take care of your friends.”

Graduates of the National Science University were assigned to government agencies as well as the most difficult and poorest borders.

They might not be able to meet again.

”I spent four years with them. When it’s time to say goodbye, you have to say goodbye. It’s human nature to be sad, but don’t let it affect you.

”The time you had with them is over. Keep this good time in your memory and welcome the rest with the best mentality.”

Xia Jinyuan straightened his body and half-kneeled on one leg. He held Ye Jian’s face and smiled. ”Baby, the next few days are the days I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. When you reach the team, you’ll be my soldier and I’ll be your captain. You have to be mentally prepared to be scolded by me.”

Xia Jinyuan saw that Ye Jian didn’t look tired. Instead, she looked worried because of her graduation. His heart ached for her, so he found a topic that could allow Ye Jian to quickly walk out of her sorrow.

Just as he was about to have a chat, someone knocked on the closed ward door. Then, the doorknob was twisted. Xia Jinyuan, who was interrupted, frowned slightly. He didn’t want to open the door.

Ye Jian pushed him. There was a faint smile in her eyes. ”Why did you lock the door? Hurry up and open the door. It should be the doctor.”

”Let’s have a good chat after the doctor leaves.” Xia Jinyuan frowned and quickly kissed her forehead. Then, he stood up and tidied his military uniform.

Fortunately, he locked the door out of habit, and no one saw them.
