Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

How could Xia Jinyuan get the help of others to take care of his own lover? Naturally, he said that he could do it alone without any difficulties.

Ye Jian, who had stayed up all the way back to Xiang City, finally fell asleep with the help of painkillers. She was covered in injuries, so she couldn’t lie down flat. The bed was tilted to 45 degrees, so she could only sleep sideways.

Fortunately, her back, which was stabbed by tree branches, was on the same side as the gunshot wound on her shoulder. Although her ribs were broken, she could still fall asleep if she lay slightly on her side. She was just not used to it.

Xia Jinyuan was worried that Ye Jian would press on her wounds when she was asleep, so he didn’t sleep. He sat by the bed and looked at the person who was sleeping gently. He silently watched her beautiful face. His empty heart was finally filled.

Her voice and smile had already scattered all his panic and fear. He was unprecedentedly satisfied.

His slender fingers slowly caressed her picturesque eyebrows and nose tip. Then, he slowly caressed her cheek. His fingers brushed past the fine and uneven new injuries. His unfathomable eyes were filled with heartache.

He placed his hands on the top part of the bed and leaned over slowly. His thin lips were close to Ye Jian’s. He kissed her soft lips and closed his eyes for a long time.

”Little fox, how much have you suffered in the past five months? After coming back from the province… you must’ve gone overseas to do undercover combat, right?”

…

On the bed, the young and handsome lieutenant colonel was full of gentleness as he accompanied the injured woman and muttered softly. No one came to disturb them. No one walked around. It was like there were only the two of them in this world. One slept peacefully while the other accompanied her peacefully.

In the car, Commissar Yue, who was a little tired, massaged his throbbing temples and spoke to the dean of the department in a low voice, ”Little Ye is seriously injured. It’s obvious that she wasn’t injured during training, but the military still hid it.”

”It’s normal. A good student was out on business for almost five months. It’s to be expected that she came back with injuries. I’m afraid it wasn’t convenient for the military to tell our school in detail.”

”Little Ye is very outstanding. The military chose her long ago. A few commanders-in-chief who have seen Little Ye hope that Little Ye can join them after graduation. Our school doesn’t even need to do anything. The military will approach Ye Jian first.”

”Now that I see the injured Little Ye, Old Yue, I suspect that Little Ye has fulfilled her wish in advance.”

The dean’s sigh made Commissar Yue frown. ”You mean… she’s already in?”

”What else? How do you explain her injuries?”

Commissar Yue, who was no longer massaging his temples, frowned and pondered for a moment. He nodded. ”Your suspicion is valid. I’m afraid the military has already made their move.”

”A good talent will shine wherever they go. Now that her wish has been fulfilled, she’ll be like a fish in water.”

The dean smiled bitterly and shook his head. ”A good talent will shine wherever they go. However, the path she chose is too dangerous. It’s really worrying.”

Commissar Yue said, ”We’ll respect her choice. The path of a soldier is difficult to begin with, and Little Ye is very outstanding. Now that she has taken the most difficult path, she’ll shine with the outstanding qualities of the current generation of soldiers.

”I support her. I hope that she’ll have greater achievements in the future and use her abilities to serve the country. Only then will she not let down her military uniform.”

Political Commissar Yue, who came from the field military unit, supported Ye Jian’s choice. He felt that soldiers needed to train well to shine. If they just wanted peace, the military unit wouldn’t welcome them.

After a pause, Commissar Yue seemed to remember something. His expression turned exceptionally serious. ”This isn’t right!”
