Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian wasn’t used to being praised. She was used to keeping a low profile and didn’t want to publicize her matter.

After chatting with the instructor for a while, Ye Jian asked, ”The class doesn’t know about my situation, right?”

The instructor knew Ye Jian well. The moment she asked, he knew what she was thinking. He couldn’t help but laugh. ”It’s good for you to keep a low profile, but you can’t keep a low profile for everything.

”We won’t ask how you got injured, but we can’t hide the fact that you’re injured. Also, the military will reward you with a huge surprise.”

”Can I refuse the surprise?”

”Are you sure you can reject the military’s decision?”

Ye Jian was silent. Of course, she couldn’t.

As he spoke, the instructor secretly sized up the young lieutenant colonel who only introduced himself briefly. Xia Jinyuan, who was not afraid of being sized up, allowed the instructor to size him up. He was not as cautious as before.

It was time for him to bask in the sun. Was he afraid that the instructor would find out?

He wasn’t afraid, and he didn’t mind. He allowed the instructor to size him up secretly.

Ye Jian was able to remain calm too. She didn’t say anything until the emcee announced that the representative of the Outstanding Students was going to speak on stage. Before she even appeared, the audience applauded loudly.

Ye Jian, who didn’t want to be on the stage in a wheelchair, got up slowly with Xia Jinyuan’s help. Then, she walked slowly to the podium with the instructor’s help. ”Thank you.”

”I’ve been your teacher for four years. This isn’t troublesome.” The instructor smiled and carefully helped Ye Jian out of the backstage.

The deep voice of the emcee, who was standing in the middle of the ceremonial stage, spread to every corner of the auditorium. Every word fell into the ears of the fourth-year students.

”I believe everyone is familiar with this Outstanding Student. We’ve heard of her bravery and outstanding performance countless times in school. This time… I think all of us will be shocked by her appearance.

”Ye Jian will be representing all Outstanding Students on stage to give a speech! Please give a round of applause!”

Before the emcee said her name, the students below the stage already knew that Ye Jian had returned to school after disappearing for an entire semester!

Thunderous applause sounded again. The dark green figures below the stage all looked at the ceremonial stage. The applause got louder and more intense.

The applause on the rostrum was loud too. Major General Yang looked at the female soldier who walked out and felt gratified.

”Due to special circumstances, please give the heavily injured Ye Jian some time. Thank you.”

After the emcee finished speaking, other than He Jing and Xu Wen, all the other students below the stage were surprised. When Ye Jian appeared on the stage, the sharp military might of a sword that had been unsheathed surged toward them as she walked slowly. The students’ facial expressions turned serious. They subconsciously tensed up and sat properly.

”I’m sorry to keep you waiting, comrades. It’s my honor to stand here and speak as a representative…”

The slender figure on the stage was as straight as a spear. Thousands of eyes were on her, but there was no abnormality in her voice as she spoke calmly. If she hadn’t walked out extremely slowly, no one would have thought that she was heavily injured.

After speaking for only three minutes, Ye Jian slowly raised her right hand and saluted the rostrum and the audience.

Amidst the applause, Ye Jian was about to turn around and leave the stage when the emcee smiled and asked Ye Jian to stop. Major General Yang stood up.
