Chapter 2265: Chapter 2265: What Kind of Terrifying Existence Is This?

The faint glow of the Water-Repelling Pearl supported a small orb of light, becoming the only brightness in the depths of the water.

Like a falling meteor, the orb was pursued by countless frantic magical beasts.

They chased closer and closer, Carson Flores could already hear their low growls, as if right beside him.

Just as they were about to overtake Carson, like a black ocean of magical beasts about to engulf him, Carson realized that in front of him was no longer the abyss of dark waters but the ground!

Reached it!

The blade of the Giant Sword was deeply embedded in the ground, and numerous thick water plants grew from the earth. These water plants were exceptionally sturdy, their branches and leaves dancing in the water like giant sea serpents.

The sword is just stuck in the ground?

Where does the Demonic Qi come from?

Carson, however, had no time to investigate further, as the wave of magical beasts was upon him. Turning around, ready to put away the Water-Repelling Pearl and meet his fate, a terrifying sensation suddenly erupted in the water around him.

Carson felt his heart uncontrollably race, fear took over his entire being.

Though just an Incarnation, not fearing death, he was supposed to be fearless, yet now he felt an overwhelming terror.

Something eerie occurred.

Those magical beasts had already rushed to his face, Carson could even vaguely see their clawing figures, but as the sensation suddenly arose, they abruptly stopped and, in a grand display of turning, wildly swam away, fleeing rapidly.

In the blink of an eye, these fierce water beasts had fled completely, restoring calm to the surroundings.

Carson was shocked by the transformation before him, taking a deep breath and turning to look around. Yet, there was nothing to be found, nothing happening.

The sensation that made Carson’s scalp tingle and heart race quickly subsided, leaving a dead silence around him, quiet enough that Carson could clearly hear his heartbeat and the sound of blood flowing.

What was that sensation?

Carson’s gaze settled on where the sword’s blade touched the earth. He always felt that this sword didn’t appear here for no reason nor would this place be the source of Demonic Qi without cause.

Since those water-dwelling beasts dared not approach, Carson, without hesitation, delivered a strike onto the sword’s body.

Upon the strike, the ground beneath the sword instantly shattered, the turbulent water swept away all the fragmented materials, leaving a giant crater beneath the sword.

The sword remained embedded in the ground.

Just how deep is this sword embedded?

Carson darted downward, swiftly reaching the lowest point and, after flying swiftly left and right for a while, stopped. His gaze fell on the junction of the sword and the ground—a patch of mysterious black surface, shining with a black metallic glow.

What is this mysterious black surface?

Rock?

Ore?

Carson floated down, crouched, and casually scraped it with his hand.

The black surface showed a scratch, albeit a subtle one.

”Hmm?”

Carson raised an eyebrow; even steel would cut under his touch, yet here was merely a small scratch.

Carson scraped several more times, inspecting closely, his expression gradually changing.

His face inexplicably paled, feeling an electric shock sweep his body, he stood up, gazed into the depths of darkness, and murmured softly, ”This... is too frightening!”

He clenched his teeth, delivering several consecutive strikes ahead.

He disregarded any fearsome existence his actions might attract; compared to his inner conjectures, those terrifying magical beasts were utterly insignificant!

With his few strikes, a large area ahead was cleared, resembling the ground beneath his feet. Despite the intense assault, everything before him was shattered and swept away by the rushing currents, yet the fierce force stopped at this layer of black metallic-like surface under Carson’s feet.

Carson advanced forward, and after a long walk, suddenly halted.

Beneath him lay another layer of black surface overlapping the one below, though the two surfaces fit seamlessly, Carson’s eyes revealed deeper shock.

Following the overlapping pattern of the two black surfaces, Carson moved in a giant arc, then reached another overlapping patch.

Carson paused, emotions turbulent in his mind, his face etched with astonishment.

His prior speculation was undeniably correct!

A black surface beneath him wasn’t a layer of ore rock but an astonishingly defensible huge scale!

This isn’t a series of overlapping black rock layers; it is clearly scales overlapping in layers!

If each scale is so enormous, what kind of terrifying entity possesses such scales?

This Giant Sword is not embedded in the ground, but into the body of this terrifying entity!
