The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2259: Chapter 2259: Octopus, Such a Huge Octopus!

Carson Flores was very familiar with Icy Watson; all her passionate affections were false, with her own unspeakable purposes.

She flirted with both Gabriel Lozano and Kyson Howell, claiming true love for each, yet when Kyson Howell ”died,” she showed no signs of sadness.

She didn’t care at all.

Or rather, the only one she truly cared about was herself.

Carson Flores remained aloof in response to Icy Watson’s flattery. After all, the prouder he acted, the more it fit his current persona, and if he dropped this aloof mask, Icy Watson would surely take the opportunity to pry about True Sage Grand Void’s matters, but he didn’t know anything.

Wyrella Holt and Virelia Jaramillo watched Icy Watson’s actions towards Carson Flores, cursing internally at Orion Watson’s despicability for sending his granddaughter to employ a beauty trap to get close to Carson.

Shameless!

Along the way, everyone probed indirectly, while Carson Flores dodged with vague responses, and no one dared to ask excessive questions, so he didn’t really expose himself.

Carson Flores made up a story about his origins, saying he was born in a small place and by chance caught the eye of True Sage Grand Void, who brought him along, nominally as a servant, but actually trained him as a disciple, so he hadn’t ventured out much and knew little about the outside world.

This backstory highlighted his status as more than a servant and also his unfamiliarity with the outside world, so that he could claim ignorance to all questions asked!

That day, as the group was traveling, a light suddenly shot from afar towards Orion Watson.

Orion Watson frowned, reached out, and the light landed in his hand—it was a glowing Distress Talisman.

Orion Watson scanned the talisman with his Divine Sense and his face darkened, turning around to say, ”Fellow Flores, a disciple from our Sect is trapped, I must go for rescue.”

Carson Flores nodded readily, ”Let’s go together.”

Orion Watson breathed a sigh of relief, ”Good!”

Looking at Wyrella Holt and Virelia Jaramillo, Orion Watson saw them exchange a glance and say in unison, ”Let’s go too, so we can help out.”

Orion Watson knew their thoughts but rescuing was a race against time, and delays weren’t an option.

As a senior of the Green City Garden, he had the responsibility to protect Sect disciples.

Those reaching him with a Distress Talisman were not Outer Sect Disciples, but core Inner Sect Disciples or even True Disciples. These individuals were the future of the Sect and must be prioritized.

Orion Watson waved his sleeve, enveloping Icy Watson and others with an invisible force, intending to carry them along due to their slower speed.

Carson Flores declined to be carried and performed the Ground Shrinking Technique, teleporting hundreds of miles away in a step, impressing Orion Watson and the others.

As expected of someone by True Sage Grand Void’s side, even as a servant, he possessed such an excellent movement technique.

The group transformed into streams of light, heading in the direction indicated by the Distress Talisman.

Soon, they reached the location of the distress signal—not some remote wilderness or abyssal canyon, but an endless expanse of water.

The water was dark green and scanning with Divine Sense strangely met with interference, reaching only a little over a thousand meters before stopping, revealing a seemingly endless empty water region.

Wyrella Holt glanced around, ”Where are those who sent the distress signal, could they have already...”

Though Wyrella Holt hadn’t finished, everyone guessed the implication, their expressions turning grim.

This water realm could obstruct even a Great Land Immortal’s Divine Sense, indicating some special properties and the likelihood of magical beasts.

”Boom!”

The sound of thunder echoed as water burst upwards like boiling, trembling unstoppably.

”There’s a fight underwater.”

As soon as the words were spoken, Sword Qi shot out from the water, piercing the sky.

”I’m going down to rescue them.”

Orion Watson dove towards the water, which parted automatically, forming a path as he sped downward.

A moment later, a tremendous impact sounded from below, shaking the water realm violently, waves crashing with many magical beasts fleeing from the depths in panic, some even flying out directly.

”It’s starting!”

Wyrella Holt examined the water surface, frowning, ”It seems there’s something formidable beneath...”

Carson Flores asked, ”Orion Watson has strong abilities, he should manage, right?”

Virelia Jaramillo’s expression was grave, ”The forces below are powerful and continuous; it might not be that easy.”

As they discussed, the water split apart, and three figures emerged from below, wearing the robes of Inner Sect Disciples from Green Bird City.

The three were pale, their eyes showing undisguisable terror and relief at escaping calamity.

Virelia Jaramillo asked, ”What’s happening below?”

The three exchanged glances, terror-stricken, and spoke in unison, ”Octopus! A huge octopus!”
