The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 885: Chapter 885: Even If It’s a Dream, I Wish to Never Wake Up

The small four-courtyard house wasn’t very bright, yet it felt incredibly warm to its occupants.

A table of sumptuous dinner.

Carson Flores.

Shirley Miller.

Samantha Tate.

The three sat around the table, drinking wine and chatting.

Shyness and joy were evident in Samantha Tate’s eyes.

The four-courtyard house was Shirley Miller’s idea to buy, and though they might only live there for a few days, in everyone’s heart, it was the first little home for the three of them in the Barbaric Wilderness Realm.

Perhaps they would never return here, but the memories of these days would forever be etched in their minds.

The experience was completely different from staying in the guest rooms of the City Lord’s Mansion.

”Alright, I’m tired today and going to sleep, you two do as you please.”

Shirley Miller left swiftly, leaving the space to the two of them.

Carson Flores and Samantha Tate exchanged glances, with a slight redness to Samantha’s cheeks, signaling expectation.

The glow of the red candles illuminated the whole room.

”Suddenly there’s such a sense of ceremony, it makes me a bit uncomfortable, like it’s the wedding night of entering the bridal chamber...”

Carson embraced Samantha Tate, smiling slightly, ”Once I take care of you and your sister’s sect issues, I will definitely hold a grand wedding for you. I can’t promise that Nine Dragons will draw your carriage, but at least something like Nine Jiao or Nine Flame Phoenixes should escort you in a glorious fashion into our home!”

Samantha Tate said excitedly, ”Yes!”

What woman doesn’t look forward to a grand century wedding?

It is the happiest and most moving moment of a woman’s life, one to be remembered forever.

Samantha Tate held onto Carson Flores, biting her lip, ”It’s getting late, let’s go to sleep.”

”Okay!”

Carson Flores lifted Samantha Tate by the waist, placed her on the bed, and slowly leaned down to kiss her.

In the flickering candlelight, the two seemed as one.

In the midst of pain, Samantha Tate held onto Carson Flores tightly, her heart brimming with joy.

She and her brother were truly together now.

Thank you, sister!

Thank you, fate!

...

”Brother, I’m off to sleep; go see how sister is doing, will you?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Are you still thinking about that?”

Samantha Tate earnestly said, ”Sister has been good to me, but as a woman, I put myself in her shoes. If I were her, my feelings would be quite complex right now...”

”Sad?”

Samantha Tate shook her head, ”Probably not that, but it’s an indescribable complexity. After all, you belonged only to her, and now she has to share you... I’m going to sleep, go keep sister company.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Okay, sleep well.”

The exhausted Samantha Tate leaned against Carson Flores and soon fell asleep.

Carson Flores quietly got out of bed, dressed, and left the room.

”Knock knock knock!”

Carson Flores tapped lightly on Shirley Miller’s door. After a while, Shirley Miller opened it. She wore pajamas, but her face showed not the slightest trace of drowsiness.

She had said she was tired and going to sleep, obviously a lie.

Shirley Miller glanced toward the bedroom, chiding, ”You should have stayed with Samantha today instead of running around...”

Carson Flores smiled slightly, ”I’m following orders, of course, but I also wanted to see you.”

Following orders?

Shirley Miller was amused by his words and rolled her eyes at Carson Flores, ”Is she asleep?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”She has fallen asleep.”

Shirley Miller didn’t open the door wide but thought a moment, ”Wait for me.”

Shirley Miller left the door slightly ajar, and the sound of changing clothes echoed from inside.

If he pushed the door open now, he could probably see a wonderful scene, right?

Carson Flores stood at the doorway, amusingly thinking about it, although of course, it was just a thought.

Shirley Miller quickly came out, dressed in casual sportswear.

”Where to?”

”The moon is beautiful tonight. Since you can’t sleep, let’s find a place to watch it.”

”Okay!”

They ascended swiftly into the air and soon landed atop a tall tower nearby.

Under the bright moonlight, the light poured down like water, illuminating the earth, with silence all around.

Carson Flores sat down first and then pulled Shirley Miller down to sit on his lap, leaning against him.

Shirley Miller didn’t resist and settled comfortably against Carson Flores’s chest, looking up at the moon.

”I’ve looked at this moon countless times, always wondering if it was the same one I saw in the Mortal Realm, pondering whether I was still on Earth or in some overlapping space. It all felt like a dream, and I even thought that if I slept well, maybe when I woke up, I would return to Polgel, to my familiar home, to that familiar bed...”

”Time and time again, disappointment has made me realize that I’ve come to a completely foreign world. It seems near, but it is far, two entirely different worlds.”

”Subconsciously, I hated seeing the moon and the sun because, even though they are the same, they’re not the moon or the sun or the world that I knew.”

Shirley Miller slightly raised her head and gently touched Carson Flores’s face, ”Today, for the first time, I feel it’s real because I’m no longer alone. By my side is the equally real you. Even if this is a dream, with you by my side, I’m willing to never wake up...”
