The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 861: Chapter 861: How Can One Enter a Treasure Mountain and Return Empty-handed?

Carson Flores had been worried that Samantha Tate would remain stuck at the Great Perfection stage of the Foundation Establishment and miss such a great opportunity to break through.

Carson had prepared himself to give her the remaining Enlightenment Fruit to eat if she couldn’t break through, determined to help her achieve her breakthrough no matter what.

As it turned out, Carson’s worries were unnecessary.

After meditating for a day, Samantha successfully made her breakthrough, officially stepping into the Golden Core Stage, followed by a rapid surge in strength that was unstoppable.

Carson had once cultivated in the Spiritual Spring of Harmony Hollow, where his strength had increased swiftly; this was the Origin Essence, far more efficient than training in the Spiritual Spring.

Carson was quite envious.

If he could also absorb the Five Elements Essence and possessed Enlightenment Fruit, he believed that advancing to the Peak of Spirit Transformation shouldn’t be a problem as long as his luck wasn’t too bad. He could potentially cultivate to the peak of Divinity Transformation in one go.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t born with a Five Elements Spiritual Body.

Luckily, the Path of the Sword Bone that he followed was extremely unique, allowing him to treat himself as a magic artifact for cultivation, absorbing Essentia directly into each of his Sword Bones, rather than into his Dantian.

The speed at which Carson absorbed the Metal Essence wasn’t fast; after refining artifacts for ten minutes, he needed to rest for at least an hour.

Carson wasn’t in a hurry; as long as he could absorb, even if slowly, he was sure he could complete the refinement of all his Sword Bones.

Besides, if he absorbed enough Essentia, he might even have a chance to leave; if not enough, entering that gate could very well lead to a dead end.

To survive, he had to exert himself to the maximum, extracting as much Essentia as possible until he couldn’t absorb a single bit more. At that point, whether he could escape would be up to fate.

A month passed in the blink of an eye.

Samantha continuously cultivated, her strength skyrocketing, reaching the bottleneck of the Golden Core Stage. This time, she got stuck.

Carson immediately took out an Enlightenment Fruit.

Samantha didn’t stand on ceremony with Carson; ready to face death alongside him, there was no need to separate their destinies. It was best to face whatever came together.

Like Carson, Samantha ate three Enlightenment Fruits and spent just over eight days to complete her breakthrough, successfully advancing to the Nascent Soul stage.

The speed of this advancement, if spoken of, would surely make countless people envious.

After her advancement, Samantha began to crazily absorb the Wood Essence, striving to enhance her strength further.

Carson spent forty days refining all of his Sword Bones with Metal Essence, each bone filled with Metal Essence and each quality enhanced by a significant step, making them not only harder but when Carson released his Sword Qi, its power had at least doubled, if not more!

This power would also increase as Carson’s strength improved.

After refining once, Carson began the second refinement.

As he refined his Sword Bones, the quantity of Metal Essence within them increased and Carson seemed to adapt better to the Metal Essence, which also allowed him to absorb it faster, and he could persist longer with each session of cultivation.

The second refinement took Carson only ten days.

Not only because each absorption involved more Essentia and lasted longer, but also because there was less to absorb on the second refinement.

Each Sword Bone was now saturated with Metal Essence, like a sponge that could absorb no more water.

Carson then turned his attention to the Earth Essence.

Metal Essence enhanced attack while Earth Essence enhanced defense. Unable to absorb more Metal Essence, what about Earth Essence?

Why not try?

Carson moved in front of the Earth Essence and carefully started the third round of refinement.

The results were a pleasant surprise to Carson!

Even though he was no longer absorbing as much as the Metal Essence, his Sword Bones could indeed continue to absorb Earth Essence!

That was impressive!

Then continue to absorb, continue to refine!

In the third round, Carson spent twenty days, every bone in his body becoming tougher and more solid than steel, even tougher and more resilient!

Carson was very satisfied!

The current Carson was itself a supreme treasure, a supreme cultivator made up of two hundred and six high-quality Magical Swords, perfectly capable of taking on others’ Flying Swords and Magical Artifacts with just his bodily strength—he was a veritable human weapon!

Carson also wanted to try the other three types of Essentia, but found he really couldn’t absorb even a strand more and had to give up.

Looking at the ceaseless flow of Five Elements Essentia, Carson felt an itch in his heart; leaving Treasure Mountain empty-handed was indeed a great loss!

Carson tried using some containers to hold the Five Elements Essentia, but they exploded instantly, utterly unable to withstand the weight akin to mountains.

After some thought, Carson pulled out the Water-Fire Mirror.

The Water-Fire Mirror could absorb water and fire and was considered a supreme treasure, very strong; could it absorb the Water and Fire Essence?

Would it explode immediately upon trying?
