Three Towers Game

Chapter 1334: Chapter 423: Leo’s Decision and Almi’s Story_2

”That’s settled then. But for today, the banquet isn’t over yet—let’s drink our fill!”

...

...

The Three-Tower World was about to undergo certain changes.

A Divine Level showdown was about to unfold.

But this had nothing to do with the people of Hunter City.

After Almi returned to Hunter City, he received his reward. In the transfer space created by the Commerce Association, he was given the following evaluation—

”You did not kill Wen Xiangge, but because of your appearance, Wen Xiangge lost his original position and began to involve himself in some dangerous affairs. At the same time, we noticed that Wen Xiangge of Wind City seems to have suddenly vanished without a trace. Although the things he did still remain. While you did not achieve the best ending, you seem to have treated the symptoms.”

”The Commerce Association has decided to grant you some wealth, as well as the ability · Initial-Tier Charm.”

Initial-Tier Charm could make Almi appear, to men, more imposing, more spirited and approachable; to women, it would give him stronger sexual appeal.

At the same time, the various invitations and decisions Almi made would become easier for others to agree with.

Obtaining such a skill meant that Almi had successfully completed the mission.

Although he did not receive the highest mission rating, it was enough to hand in for credit.

Almi was simply very curious how this had been accomplished. Why had Wen Xiangge in the current timeline disappeared?

Did this count as cooperating with his own self? Could it be that across this long timeline, Wen Elder and Master Wen of the past and Wen Elder and Master Wen of the present had colluded together to pull one over on the Commerce Association?

The Commerce Association’s mission reward rating mechanism seemed to be based on cumulative changes from the butterfly effect... Could it be that Master Wen had already fully predicted everything?

Anyway, Almi was in a very good mood.

He quickly began to sift through missions. His bunker-addiction flared up; right now he just wanted to hurry back to the Bunker.

Of course, he was also a bit worried that once he returned to the Bunker, people might not remember him, and he’d have to relive some things all over again.

And because of his own actions, the Bunker currently lacked someone like Wen Elder; would that make the situation harder to crack open?

Almi didn’t stay worried for long.

He endured his hunger and did not use the currency he’d obtained to buy food. After all, as long as he went to the Bunker, he could eat much better.

He saved up his currency, planning to use it to exchange for new abilities.

These abilities were, of course, not for invading the Bunker, but for infiltrating Hunter City.

He believed that many people were just like him—having no particular loyalty to Hunter City, merely feeling that this place was slightly better than the outside, but definitely not good enough to compare with the Bunker.

Almi soon arrived at the Commerce Association.

But that entire afternoon, several freshly issued missions appeared, all related to a place called Pen Town.

There were no missions involving the Bunker.

The Pen Town missions’ successful survival rate... was still zero to this day.

Not long ago, a well-known Hunter of Hunter City had even died there, Hamrant, a guy famed in Hunter City as a Flute Player.

All sorts of eerie beings had been broken apart by his flute, and he was someone of a higher tier than Almi. Yet even a guy like that had died in Pen Town.

So Almi would never take on such a mission.

On his first day back in Hunter City, because he held on to his currency and didn’t buy anything to eat, thinking of going to the Bunker for a good meal...

Almi was very hungry. His bunker-addiction had kicked in, and he was already drooling.

On the second day, Almi couldn’t take it anymore and spent a bit of currency to buy food.

Even the simplest food, those protein blocks made from cockroaches, cost more than a lavish meal in the Bunker.

This was Hunter City.

Here, unless you completed some earth-shattering super mission, it was very hard to truly achieve financial freedom. The Commerce Association ruled everything through ”peace” and ”desire.”

On the second day, Almi still didn’t receive any Bunker missions, and he began to wonder... were there only that few Bunker missions?

On the third day, Almi saw a dying Hunter in Hunter City.

This Hunter was called Cheng Wang, from Longxia.

Because he had failed several missions—those kinds where you could survive inside the mission but failed to bring about any effects beneficial to the Commerce Association—he survived yet received no rewards.

Cheng Wang was about to starve to death.

There were many such people in Hunter City. Hunter City did not support idlers; idlers would fall to beggars, and beggars would eventually starve to death.

Almi had originally no interest in such people.

But he suddenly thought of Wen Xiangge’s compassionate face, and so, in that alley outside the Commerce Association, his steps slowed.

He did not decide to save Cheng Wang. It wasn’t that he was cruel...

Rather, Almi himself knew that there was no way to save them all, absolutely no way. Right now he saw Cheng Wang; in a while he would see someone else. Hunter City was just like this.

But Cheng Wang just had to be ”up to the task”—as Almi slowed his pace... Cheng Wang said:

”Sir, please save me... save me, give me a bite to eat, I can help you, I have an ability...”

Almi instinctively wanted to leave, but still, as if possessed, he asked:

”An ability? What ability?”

Cheng Wang himself didn’t know if he was bragging:

”I once experienced a special mission and got an ability, called the Crippled Qi-Sight... I can see a person’s potential!”

Almi pondered—this counted as an ability too?

Cheng Wang said:

”Believe me, the color of your qi right now is blue, but it used to be green. That means you’ve obtained something recently and are in pretty good shape at the moment! You’ve leveled up.”

As he spoke, Cheng Wang struggled to straighten his body, his hands straining, and suddenly, as if performing a magic trick, a card appeared in his hand.
