Three Towers Game

Chapter 1319: Chapter 418: I Become the Master of the Pen

The campfire extinguished.

This signifies the arrival of the next challenge.

[An old classroom, with dust and a musty smell filling the air. Outside the classroom stands a ”teacher”, it might not have a fixed form, merely a constantly twisting shadow composed of countless broken words. Its voice is like chalk scraping against a blackboard.]

[It’s a language teacher, you know, when language teachers are lazy, they make students do writing assignments.]

[Before it comes in to assign the writing, you all have a brief—moment of free activity.]

Writing assignment?

Wen Xishu realized that this time might be related to writing, is this finally going to touch on the core of the ”pen”?

Reid was rather annoyed:

”Hmm... I have a feeling I might die in this stage.”

Wen Xishu and Reid had completed the scene switch, and they were kind of deskmates, sitting in the middle of the classroom.

There were other classmates in the classroom as well, each with a bizarre smile, and ropes descended from the ceiling, suspending all the classmates.

It looked as if...

Like meat hooks hanging pigs in a slaughterhouse, or like teru teru bozu dolls hanging from a roof.

Wen Xishu thought teru teru bozu might be more accurate, after all... they all had smiles, and occasionally some ”classmates” would turn sideways, looking at them with the odd smile.

Honestly, Reid wasn’t bothered by this, he had seen too many sanity-draining creatures along the way.

He had become immune to such terrifying scenes.

But Reid was really worried about one thing.

”Why do you say that? It’s all fine, don’t worry, you won’t die.” Wen Xishu said.

Reid drooped his face:

”Brother, you know... I’m most afraid of writing assignments? Ah... truth be told, I did go to school when I was young, all my writings were stream of consciousness.”

”I woke up today, I peed today, I ate breakfast today, I attended class today. Once, because I added a sentence: I saw the green hills today, the hills were beautiful, there was mist. The teacher even suspected I had copied someone else’s writing, that’s my true level.”

”Hmm... I hate writing stuff.”

Reid felt kind of targeted, Wen Xishu probably understood, this was indeed difficult for Reid.

Though they hadn’t yet figured out the specifics of the challenge, it’s definitely going to be related to the pen.

”Let’s first... observe.”

Wen Xishu began tidying up his desk.

Reid followed suit.

Soon, Wen Xishu discovered a book called ”Pen Town Tales” in the desk.

He thought this might be a clue, so he began reading.

At first, Wen Xishu felt it was nothing special, but as he read further, he noticed something was wrong.

The stories in ”Pen Town Tales” were extremely... soothing.

A water spirit hidden in the sink helped the owners clean the kitchen and bathroom, dressed in blue like a fairy.

Pig Boss initially lazed around, building a house of straw, which blew away. Pig the Second learned from this and built a wooden house, but it burned up.

Pig the Third built a stone house, and because it was a massive project, the three pigs worked together and finally completed the house.

The gourmet was known as the Great Kind Man in town, always conjuring up children’s favorite foods, and had a castle made of delicacies, inviting only the most well-behaved kids, leaving all the kids in town longing to be guests at the castle.

The abbey madre had a voice like celestial music, singing songs that purified souls, Pen Town always welcomed the sunrise with her songs, marking the beginning of a new day.

Wen Xishu was somewhat bewildered.

”What’s going on, why is Pen Town... so warm and healing?”

Wen Xishu saw the shadows of many familiar stories.

”A bit strange.”

The Pen Town he experienced seemed entirely different, terrifying, creepy, eerie.

Wen Xishu flipped further.

Found a few more books, one was called ”Mosen Short Stories”.

Another was called ”Mosen Medium Stories”.

Of course, Wen Xishu then found ”Alive” with Mosen as the author.

And a wuxia novel—”Six Veins Soaring Dragon Records”, authored by Mosen.

No exception, even the author of the Pen Town Tales was Mosen.

”All written by one person? Quite the range. Traditional literature, fairy tales, mystery suspense, wuxia...”

”Is this Mosen a genius?”

Wen Xishu seemed to vaguely feel something wasn’t right.

He continued searching and found a booklet outside the pile of textbooks.

The booklet had the following contents written on it:

”Wen Xishu and Reid finally arrived in the classroom, they would gradually discover clues about Mosen, amazed at how Mosen’s bestsellers seemed overly abundant.”

”But at this moment, the class bell rang.”

Ding dong ding!

The class bell abruptly rang, and all the hanging ”classmates” immediately oriented themselves in unison.

The bizarre teacher, with a humanoid silhouette but intermittently flashing words, finally walked into the classroom.

Wen Xishu was startled. Could this booklet be a kind of prophecy? Was this the Master of the Pen’s handiwork?

Could his words turn into reality?

”In his mind, he’s wondering, is this the Master of the Pen’s method, his words can become reality? But it’s best if he stands up quickly, otherwise disrespectful students might die in the classroom.”

Seeing this, Wen Xishu hurriedly stood up:

”Stand up, Reid.”

Reid listened, promptly standing up as well.
