Chapter 1328: Chapter 421: Entrusted Ending (Part 2)

Wen Xishu narrowed his eyes:

”That’s it? It’s over?”

The Master of the Pen said:

”Yeah, it’s over. You’re wondering who that old man really is, aren’t you?”

Wen Xishu nodded.

The Master of the Pen didn’t hide anything. He said:

”Later on, when I was imprisoned by the Merchant and forced to write books, I dug into it.”

”The Merchant said this is the Evil Land’s repatriation mechanism. It’s also a warning: anyone brought out of the Evil Land will be marked.”

”Simply put, you and I are basically the last Evil Land People. We’re not getting any more folks from back home, you get that?”

”The appearance of the Old Man Selling Tea is itself a statement of protest against this kind of raiding and kidnapping.”

”I came here through some ritual the Merchant carried out. Through me, he planned to take a shortcut—use a one-stroke-decides-life-and-death method to end the Three Towers War.”

”As for you... maybe you were also summoned through some other kind of shortcut, also born to bring the Three Towers War to an end.”

”The old man showing up means the Evil Land doesn’t want us lingering here, and at the same time it shuts down any chance of more people from the Evil Land coming here.”

”No matter what this world turns into, the number of outside helpers is fixed at just the two of us. Hard cap.”

”Too bad you’re not the next Fate-Writing Pen wielder.”

Looks like Mosen had left out some info and only given him the conclusion: the appearance of the Old Man Selling Tea meant the Evil Land’s outside aid had hit its limit.

Wait...

If Mosen had already met the Old Man Selling Tea after the apocalypse, that meant the Evil Land’s outside aid had already maxed out.

Then why did he still arrive?

Could it be that his arrival... was earlier than Mosen’s?

Wen Xishu once again thought of what Wen Chaohua had said...

His arrival was tied to Capricorn, Gemini, and Pisces.

Pisces plays around with time.

At the same time, he had indeed come through the Three Towers, appearing on the eve of the apocalypse.

The causal links were getting more and more tangled, and Wen Xishu couldn’t sort them out for the moment.

But soon, the Master of the Pen sighed:

”Time to go.”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”We really can’t let Reid go?”

The Master of the Pen shook his head:

”As long as the Pen is still in my hand, I’ll write his death. You’re already an exception.”

Wen Xishu felt a real sense of regret. If the enemy were some utterly evil bastard...

He would’ve struck without hesitation.

But right now, the situation was that the Master of the Pen was probably a crucial piece.

Maybe there would be no next Fate-Writing Pen wielder; maybe the Master of the Pen still had an unfinished destiny.

If there was no next Fate-Writing Pen wielder, then the Master of the Pen was the key to breaking the curse.

He couldn’t kill the Master of the Pen just to save Reid.

Especially since the Master of the Pen bore him no ill will.

All he could do was close his eyes, wait to return to the Land of Reception, and maybe, through the Heart Inquiry, ask whether there were any other ”special existences.”

Right at that moment, Wen Xishu’s heart suddenly skipped a beat, and the Master of the Pen’s eyes also went wide in an instant.

Sssssss—

The hiss of carbonated soda, like a shot of adrenaline, hit them both.

In the middle of the coffee table, a strange... bottle of cola appeared.

No label—no way to tell if it was Pepsi or Coke or some local brand...

The shape of the glass bottle wasn’t exactly standard either, a bit crooked and lopsided.

But it was indeed filled with a foaming, black liquid.

Wen Xishu stared at that bottle of cola, eyes locked on it.

The Master of the Pen, eyes wide, slowly let his mouth fall open as well.

After another brief silence, his mood flipped, and he let out a rant with an extremely high ”mother” content:

”Fuck! Fuck his damn mother, it’s you! After all these years, finally, finally somebody can actually use this fucking shitty Pen!”

The cola bottle was still slowly changing, going from crooked and lopsided to gradually matching what people expect it to look like.

Bit by bit, it became the exact image that had popped into Wen Xishu’s mind when he first wrote the words ”cola.”

A branded label—yes, this was a bottle of Coca-Cola. He wasn’t on Team Pepsi; he was on Team Coke.

After quite a while...

By this time, Reid’s zone had already shrunk down to a few dozen square meters in an art gallery; Jack the Ripper and the Clown were already looking forward to how they’d dissect Reid once they found him.

And just then, the Coca-Cola finally became complete.

There were actually tears at the corners of the Master of the Pen’s eyes:

”Fantastic. Everything I did—someone can finally fix it. So it was you, damn it, it was you!”

”Wen Xishu, my dear compatriot, come on, write down Reid’s fate!”

Wen Xishu took a little booklet and quickly wrote down Reid’s fate. The shrinking stopped, Reid slipped the pursuit, and made it back to his original area.

But...

It didn’t seem to take effect immediately.

The Master of the Pen seemed to get it:

”I know you’ve got a cheat artifact on you.”

”It might be on par with this Pen, something of the same level.”

”If I had that artifact, using it myself would definitely be less effective than you.”

”So by the same logic, this Pen in your hands will also be weaker.”

”After all, you didn’t create this sequence—you just got recognized by the Pen.”

The Master of the Pen suddenly felt a twinge of worry.

When he’d said there was no Three Tower Sequence 10·Creator, he’d felt an intense unease:

So he quickly wrote down a question.

The question soon had an answer.
