Three Towers Game

Chapter 171: Revised: Chapter 85 Encountering Acquaintances_3

But he didn’t argue:

”I’ve only climbed the tower three times, and the levels were pretty low. My task completion altogether isn’t even higher than the level of my first climb. You’re naturally the most suitable to be the team leader.”

”I have no objection.”

Aspasia and Wang Ying heard that his anti-magic value isn’t even higher than his first tower climb level and knew this person has at most seven points of anti-magic value.

They didn’t underestimate him, but they completely dismissed the suspicion that he might be Wen Xishu.

Zheng Zai admired Wen Xishu unconditionally: Younger Brother Wen is indeed humble and low-key.

”Looks like it’s just the four of us then? Shall we get started?” Wen Xishu suggested.

For the Three Towers, just get it done. He always disliked dragging things out.

But Wang Ying still said:

”We’ve just arrived, let’s wait a bit longer. You’ve just arrived too, we can stay here for at least forty more minutes. If you can’t sit still, you can walk around and gather some information about the rest area.”

”If we can get one or two more teammates in these tens of minutes, our chances of winning will be greater.”

Wang Ying’s suggestion was correct. Wen Xishu thought it made sense and didn’t say much:

”Then I’ll go for a walk, hopefully, we get new teammates.”

He actually didn’t expect much from his teammates.

Up to now, Wen Xishu’s definition of teammates was—shields, dummy substitutes. They were just tools to test various rules and block the blade.

He didn’t acknowledge considering some teammates as friends. But whether he truly thought so in his heart, Wen Xishu was also uncertain.

Seeing Wen Xishu indeed walked towards the surroundings, Zheng Zai also followed.

They hadn’t finished speaking.

”Wen... Younger Brother, calling you that shouldn’t be offensive, right?”

Zheng Zai was very happy, his appearance drew a lot of attention, but he was already accustomed to the gazes of others.

Wen Xishu said:

”You’re older than me, calling me that is fine. You should know my real identity, right?”

Zheng Zai nodded:

”After I left, I was quickly captured by the people from the Bunker Security Bureau... I even went through an interrogation. But rest assured, Younger Brother Wen, I didn’t reveal anything, I resent those guys.”

”I thought they would seize my merits and then imprison me, but a teacher from the Three Towers Academy stepped in. That teacher said I was a specially appointed teacher at Three Towers Academy...”

”I was very surprised. Later I asked that teacher, he said his name was Jabbar, and confirmed I am indeed a teacher at Three Towers Academy, only the new campus is still under construction.”

”Younger Brother, isn’t it miraculous! I wonder if this was your doing?”

Albert instructed Jabbar to hire Zheng Zai as an academy teacher? The new campus... still under construction?

Reflecting on Albert’s recent urgency to solve the academy’s treasure mystery, Wen Xishu speculated that perhaps they planned to invite Zheng Zai to be a teacher at Deceit Tower Academy?

This... seems quite possible.

Wen Xishu was already somewhat accustomed to and synchronized with Albert’s unconventional methods.

”It wasn’t me, I’ve said before, you must persist in living, as long as you survive, fortune will eventually favor you. See, life isn’t always unlucky.”

Zheng Zai nodded vigorously:

”I like this era!”

Indeed, Wen Xishu also liked this era, the path to ascend was just to get things done.

Then Zheng Zai continued to talk about his tower climbing experience over the past few days, going to a place named Tai Valley in Southeast Asia where there were some strange customs.

He followed the rules, respected the customs, remembered what Wen Xishu said, carefully listened to the rules, interpreted the rules... and survived.

The task there was to help a family complete the grandfather’s funeral. The grandfather would return to his body, the corpse would wake up, and a strong man was needed to sleep with the grandfather for three days.

Many strange things would happen during these three days.

Zheng Zai’s conclusion was very strange too.

”I just followed your advice, carefully interpreted the rules, and did what the rules asked. I was very scared, the task required me to sleep with a corpse.”

”But I thought, the more scared I was, the more I should follow the rules, not break them out of fear.”

”Then... I seemed to be starving, and then I woke up, the task prompt told me I had completed a level three completion... I felt very full.”

”The grandfather also disappeared. It seemed I completed the task, but the family’s eyes looked at me weirdly.”

Wen Xishu looked at Zheng Zai, Zheng Zai looked puzzled:

”What’s wrong, Younger Brother, why are you looking at me like that.”

Wen Xishu shook his head:

”I have a friend named Wen Xiangge. If your appetite is unusually rapacious, perhaps you could find him, he has unique experiences to help you control your appetite.”

Zheng Zai still didn’t understand.

Wen Xishu was impressed too, is this guy entirely unaware of what he did?

This way of clearing the task was indeed... very unique. This task sounded very scary actually.

Wen Xishu thought, even if he had to sleep with a dead person for three days, he might be unnerved.

But Zheng Zai most likely ate the grandfather in the task.

It seems, if this game’s task designers truly existed, they wouldn’t have imagined someone clearing this task this way. What if the corpse in the coffin reanimated? Eat it!

Zheng Zai’s ability to devour the elderly and the grotesque source in the task must be related to his power.

The condition Zheng Zai thought was an illness was actually the sequence’s ability.

Strangely, Zheng Zai’s guide didn’t clarify this?

But perhaps, with this ability, Zheng Zai might truly carve out a distinctive way to clear tasks.
