Three Towers Game

Chapter 168: Revised: Chapter 84: Wen Chaohua’s Hesitation and Transformation_6

He had high hopes for many, but none of them had eventually made it.

Wen Xishu decided to get to the point:

”I want to go to the Slaughter Tower, Principal. But as you know, the risk of death there might be even higher than in the Deceit Tower.”

”For a tower where it’s all about brute force, I might not be able to play to my strengths.”

”So can you arrange for a senior to guide me?”

Albert frowned:

”What are you going to do in the Slaughter Tower? Can you bring the attributes of the Slaughter Tower into the Deceit Tower?”

Wen Xishu shook his head:

”No.”

In Wen Xishu’s eyes, the principal was an even more terrifying presence than An Rongzai, but fortunately, the principal’s main concern was the future of the entire Bunker people.

Even so, he didn’t dare to reveal his biggest secret. Because the Dice of Tumbling Madness was something that even someone of the principal’s level might covet.

”That settles it then. The Deceit Tower and Slaughter Tower are different power systems. You should continue to explore the Deceit Tower,” Albert rejected Wen Xishu’s request to explore the Slaughter Tower.

”Moreover, you should have some clues about the academy’s treasures by now, shouldn’t you? You should continue exploring the Deceit Tower and unravel the clues as soon as possible.”

Wen Xishu did not give up his idea because of this:

”You mentioned that you have always been puzzled by why Wen Chaohua, after agreeing with you, suddenly overturned his view and said that the Deceit Tower was the most important. Aren’t you curious about the truth?”

”In this world, there are things that are right and things that are easy. You are doing what you firmly believe is right. For most people, it’s not easy, even very dangerous.”

”But how do you know that the choices you make are not the easy ones from a broader perspective?”

”You are too important to humanity, so you can’t explore the Deceit Tower. But isn’t this also a kind of comfort zone? I understand that you need to maintain the status quo.”

”Now I want to explore the Three Towers: the Slaughter Tower, Deceit Tower, and Desire Tower altogether. If you still refuse, isn’t that choosing the easy path over the right one?”

Albert was taken aback, then burst into hearty laughter, his eyes filled with joy.

He had spent his whole life making the hardest choices in everyone’s eyes and often educated his students with the concept of right versus easy, yet he never thought a student would throw these words back at him.

Wen Xishu continued:

”My brother’s views are crazy. I don’t think it’s correct for everyone to explore the three towers simultaneously or for the system of ascending towers to be reformed... That’s even less reasonable.”

”But if it’s just one person, cultivating one person capable of ascending the three towers might not be unreasonable. How do you know my talents can only shine in the Deceit and Desire Towers?”

”For you, the undisputed number one in the Slaughter Tower, this might seem arrogant, but what if I’m also a genius of the Slaughter Tower? What if one day, I surpass you?”

Albert had to admit, these words were very bold. Just this courage alone meant Wen Xishu had a chance to rise in the Slaughter Tower.

This child harbored Wen Chaohua’s secret; perhaps that secret was some manifestation of the result of Wen Chaohua’s madness.

After thinking for a while, Albert said:

”I will give you this chance, but you still need to prove your capability again. Once you achieve a level six completion on your fourth Deceit Tower exploration, I will arrange for someone to take you to explore the Slaughter Tower.”

Wen Xishu said:

”Then it’s best if you arrange it now, tell that person to prepare, gather group-worthy items, tradeable sequences suitable for me, and so on.”

”Oh?” Albert looked at Wen Xishu with interest.

Wen Xishu said:

”To be honest, I plan to start my fourth Deceit Tower exploration right away.”

Albert was somewhat surprised:

”But you just returned yesterday.”

”Yes, I originally thought to enter the Slaughter Tower with my two roommates this time, but since you want me to go to the Deceit Tower again, it’s best to act quickly. I finished my exploration report on the seventh floor of the Deceit Tower yesterday afternoon. I’ve done all that’s necessary.”

Wen Xishu paused, then smiled:

”Since you won’t let me take the regular courses, exploring the Three Towers is about the only fun I have left.”

Albert felt that the younger brother might be even crazier than the older one:

”With your merit points, you can enjoy high-level privileges. Your several deliveries of level six materials have made your wealth accumulate quickly.”

”Don’t you want to enjoy a bit? Your merit points are enough to buy a house on the fifth floor and have fun with women on the sixth floor if you like.”

”Not interested, the leisure of men and women can’t compare to the thrill of the game,” Wen Xishu said, already pulling out the login device, his hand touching the button.

”Aren’t you going to borrow tools from the supplies department?” Albert was once again puzzled.

Wen Xishu said:

”Nothing fits for now. My tool slots are almost full... Hopefully, I can unlock new slots this time.”

Albert fell silent.

”Anything else? If not, please leave. Your presence feels like being watched while peeing,” Wen Xishu thought for safety’s sake, he’d better not let anyone see him logging into the Three Towers.

Albert felt he should laugh heartily, as this was the first time someone had kicked the principal out of the principal’s office. He hadn’t seen such an interesting kid in a long time and this kid did things exceptionally neatly.

It was like someone saying they wanted to travel, and the next second the person beside them is already booking flights and urging them to pack.

That’s how Albert felt now, not expecting Wen Xishu to be so swift in tower climbing. When he says climb, he climbs.

”Hahaha, an interesting little fellow. I like kids who always choose what’s right. Just don’t die in the Deceit Tower.”

Wen Xishu seemed to suddenly remember something:

”Wait, principal, has my brother ever told you which star sign had the deepest interest in him?”

Albert nodded:

”Yes, he did mention it.”

”Which star sign is it?”

”Gemini.”

Wen Xishu had guessed it was this star sign, so he asked again:

”Wait, did he ever tell you his favorability level with these star signs?”

Albert continued to nod:

”He didn’t talk much about the others, but his favorability with Gemini—it’s full.”

Full favorability? That’s unexpected. Does it imply that in Wen Chaohua’s eyes, Gemini is a potential ally?

No, conclusions can’t be drawn lightly. It’s possible that some of Wen Chaohua’s mad actions are related to Gemini.

Albert said:

”Goodbye, good luck, and I look forward to more surprises from you. The Deceit Tower is a treasure trove full of imagination.”

The principal left the office. Wen Xishu didn’t delay any longer, activating the login device immediately. Within ten days of his return, he started his fourth tower challenge.

[Welcome to the Three Towers game, entering the rest area.]

[Based on your level six completion on the sixth floor in a normal challenge, your maximum reachable level is now 14. The fluctuation range is from 7 to 14. But you can also go to the guide’s place to choose three tower level reduction (for detailed rules, consult the guide).]

[Special item ”Dice of Tumbling Madness” detected. Roll?]

Wen Xishu decisively rolled the dice.

This time, the numbers were also a straight.

The result: one, three, five.
