Having ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍them serve as filters for resentful energy was undoubtedly the most suitable use for them.

After ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍all, human resentment and the power of grievance did not arise only from being wronged or persecuted.

As ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍long as someone was human, there would always be times when they felt regret. Even after death, they would continuously lament the mistakes they had once made and wish to correct them, thereby giving rise to this kind of resentful energy.

Resentment, ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍regret, and all such things were not necessarily bad.

On ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍the contrary, having regrets was what made someone a normal person. It could be said that as long as one was human, they would inevitably produce the power of resentment.

Since they were going to reincarnate, Li Tianwei could not allow them to carry these lingering resentments with them into their next lives.

Therefore, all this resentful energy would be absorbed by the Evil Demons. After absorbing it, these Evil Demons would then be cast even deeper beneath the Eighteen Levels of Hell, where the resentment would be thoroughly cleansed.

Li Tianwei had not forgotten the overwhelming power of resentment he had sensed when he activated the Resentment Communion Curse. If it continued to grow, problems were bound to arise.

The Immortal Cultivation World had been infiltrated by Evil Demons to such an extent, and it could be said that this power of resentment had played no small part in that.

Having the Evil Demons serve as intermediary filters would make full use of them while reducing resentful energy, thereby also effectively resisting subsequent Evil Demon invasions.

Moreover, once the filtered resentful energy underwent another round of purification, it could be transformed into the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

That would form yet another cycle, while also compensating for the shortage of spiritual energy caused by everyone cultivating immortality.

“This is excellent.”

Thinking of this, Li Tianwei was quite satisfied.

“But after filtering it, how should something like resentful energy be purified?”

Li Tianwei lowered his head in deep thought, his gaze falling upon the Evil Demons below.

“Perhaps the Demon-Burning Spirit Art can be improved further.”

With that thought, Li Tianwei wasted no words and directly headed toward the Evil Demons below.

As the number of times he had fought Evil Demons increased, Li Tianwei had long since become familiar with them and no longer possessed only the superficial understanding he once had.

Li Tianwei reached toward the Evil Demons below and scooped with his hand. In an instant, dozens of Evil Demons were brought before him.

It had to be said that the physical form of the Evil Demon species was extraordinarily bizarre. They were spiritual entities of absolute purity, unlike humans and other carbon-based lifeforms.

If something like an Evil Demon had existed in his previous world, Li Tianwei would absolutely never have believed in its existence.

After all, they violated virtually every rule, as though they were entities composed entirely of information.

It was precisely by relying on this spiritual form and their unique information-like nature that they could erode and occupy the physical bodies of living beings.

As he had done before, Li Tianwei dissected the Evil Demons once again and conducted another round of research.

At the same time, Li Tianwei continuously cast incantations, applying all kinds of spells to their bodies.

Observing the connections and patterns between them and the spells, Li Tianwei soon discovered their resistance toward certain spells.

“Demon-Burning Spirit Art.”

Li Tianwei once again cast the art he had previously developed specifically to counter Evil Demons.

As the power formed from various incantations and ignited through the extension of a cultivator’s consciousness descended, several additional wounds visibly appeared upon the Evil Demons.

Li Tianwei continued experimenting here. After an unknown number of trials, he finally developed a basic idea for refining the power of resentment within Evil Demons.

As the saying went, the one who tied the bell had to be the one to untie it.

Evil Demons absorbed the resentful energy and power of resentment between heaven and earth, yet they avoided the thoughts of living beings, as well as the karma and causality attached to them, like the plague.

This was why, after an Evil Demon devoured and occupied a person, it would quietly continue impersonating that person. As time passed, everything belonging to the original individual would gradually be replaced by the Evil Demon, while the original causality and karma would completely disappear.

Once that happened, the Evil Demon would become completely free to do whatever it wished, without any further restraints.

“In that case, I can use the power of causality and karma to wash them clean. Once purified this way, the resentful energy can also be transformed back.”

As soon as Li Tianwei thought of this, he began putting it into action.

At the same time, Li Tianwei also modified the Demon-Burning Spirit Art.

“From now on, it’ll be called the Karma-to-Causality Art.”

After Li Tianwei’s modifications, the Demon-Burning Spirit Art became a method of extracting causes, exhausting consequences, creating karma, and destroying the self.

“Next, I need to solidify this power beneath the Eighteen Levels of Hell. That way, through a continuous cycle, it can constantly absorb the resentful energy from the Eighteen Levels of Hell, refine it through causality and karma, and transform it into spiritual energy.”

“Wouldn’t this also compensate for the shortage of spiritual energy caused by everyone cultivating immortality after I opened the path of cultivation?”

“Time to get to work.”

Li Tianwei immediately continued weaving the structure. Some power still remained within the Great Void Forbidden Land.

As the power continuously poured in, a great river visibly began flowing beneath the Eighteen Levels of Hell he had constructed.

The aura of the power of causality could visibly be sensed within it, while boundless karma seethed throughout the river.

Using this, Li Tianwei directly threw the Evil Demons into the river below.

The moment they visibly fell into the River of Karma and Consequence that Li Tianwei had just reconstructed, screams of agony began ringing out.

“No, it hurts so much!”

“I can feel myself being replaced. Isn’t this the original causality and life of the person I absorbed before?”

“My power is draining away. Why does it keep cycling over and over?”

All manner of strange reactions appeared among the Evil Demons below.

Li Tianwei observed the state of the River of Karma and Consequence and found it acceptable.

Across the River of Karma and Consequence that Li Tianwei had transformed, waves surged violently. From time to time, Evil Demons could visibly be swept up by the waves and sucked beneath them.

The moment they were swept up, the resentful energy from the Eighteen Levels of Hell surged into the Evil Demons’ bodies, but as the waves swallowed them, the Evil Demons vanished from sight once more.

Beneath the River of Karma and Consequence, the Evil Demons were also battered by the original causality of the owners of that resentful energy, as well as the karma those people had created.

Under the influence of the Evil Demons, the resentful energy also clashed against that karma.

As the two mutually wore each other away, the resentful energy, the karma, and the original causality of the people who had emitted that resentment continuously disappeared.

Li Tianwei could sense that the River of Karma and Consequence was undoubtedly an excellent means of erasing everything from the past of a soul that entered the Underworld.

Since they were already dead, retaining some resentful energy was useless, to say nothing of causality and karma.

They had already undergone judgment in the Ten Halls and were about to reincarnate, so everything from their previous lives also needed to be completely expended.

Karma and consequence eliminated the power of resentment, allowing all these forces to cancel one another out until they ultimately transformed back into their original source energy and returned it to heaven and earth.

“Perfect. With this, it’s basically complete.”

“All that remains is to set the Sun and Moon Banner into motion and have the order within it begin operating.”

Li Tianwei took a long breath and slowly opened his eyes.

By this point, the Great Void Forbidden Land had already disappeared, while the Sun and Moon Banner in Li Tianwei’s hand, whose flag had originally displayed only the sun and moon, was now covered in countless specks of starlight.

One could even sense the profound aura of the Great Dao emanating from the Sun and Moon Banner. Simply standing there before it felt like directly facing an entire realm.

To the side, the Spirit Dragon watched as Li Tianwei completed the refinement of the Great Void Forbidden Land. It circled through the air several times before descending onto Li Tianwei’s body.

A dragon-shaped marking could now be seen on the back of Li Tianwei’s hand.
