I Became a Witch and Started an Industrial Revolution

Countless Evil Souls blotted out the sky as they surged forth, even covering the sun and nearly plunging the world into darkness.

”I’m free! I’ve finally escaped that suffering! I didn’t want to stay in there for even a single moment.”

”La la la la! It’s finally time for some fresh air.”

”The major forces of the Northern Spirit Domain have all been dealt with. Why did that guy release us again? Don’t tell me there’s actually someone capable of contending against him.”

”Ahhh! This is the Western Spirit Domain...”

The Evil Souls emerging from the Sun and Moon Banner shouted joyfully.

Among them, the Integration Realm Ancestors were the most excited. After all, they had previously dragged the cultivators of the Four Great Holy Lands and every major force into the banner.

Their former mortal enemies had ended up sharing the exact same fate as them. Just thinking about it thrilled them.

Unfortunately, ever since Li Tianwei had completely cleansed the Northern Spirit Domain, such happy moments had disappeared, and even the chance to come out for some fresh air was gone.

They could only watch helplessly as, under Li Tianwei’s control, their Evil Souls continuously passed on all of their knowledge and countless years of experience to others.

Many cultivators who had once considered themselves above everyone else even watched their own souls teaching ordinary mortals whom they had always looked down upon.

Every possible aspect of them had been squeezed dry without mercy, leaving absolutely nothing behind.

The more it happened, the deeper their fear of Li Tianwei became.

No matter how terrified or unwilling they were, they could only obey Li Tianwei’s commands and carry out whatever task he assigned.

Many cultivators had already believed they would never again have the chance to come out, since the Northern Spirit Domain had already been completely subdued by Li Tianwei.

But now, seeing this unfamiliar land and its unfamiliar spiritual energy, some cultivators who had once traveled to other Spirit Domains immediately recognized where they were.

”The Western Spirit Domain! It’s finally those bald monks’ turn.”

”Hahahahahaha...”

”When the time comes, I’m dragging a whole batch of them in here.”

”That’s right. Those bald monks have lorded over everyone for long enough. It’s their turn now.”

Those cultivators familiar with the Western Spirit Domain were filled with anticipation.

The Sun and Moon Banner continued fluttering as endless Soul Shadows poured out without end.

It was as though a pack of ferocious tigers had been released from their cages, and the momentum they brought was unimaginably terrifying.

Such an enormous disturbance was instantly sensed by every perceptive cultivator throughout the Western Spirit Domain, filling them with overwhelming fear.

If the appearance of the Evil Demons’ Heavenly Eye had previously brought about the rampage of the Evil Demons, gathering endless resentment and malice,

then the aura released by the Sun and Moon Banner was even more horrifying.

Nearly eleven-digit numbers of Evil Souls, combined with the activation of an immortal artifact.

The various negative forces it unleashed were far greater. The Evil Souls commanded by the Sun and Moon Banner were genuine and tangible, whereas the Evil Demons were still transforming heaven and earth, and the Evil Thralls born from that corrupted world still required time to mature.

Besides, who had ever witnessed a Soul Banner refined with so many souls? Even if every demonic cultivator in the cultivation world were combined, they probably still could not compare to this Soul Banner.

Thus, when the Sun and Moon Banner fully displayed its power, the endless torrent of Evil Souls pouring out resembled the opening of a gateway leading to the land of the dead.

Dense, supremely Yin and supremely evil aura spread throughout the entire Western Spirit Domain.

The overall strength of the Western Spirit Domain was not much different from that of the Northern Spirit Domain, though the Western Spirit Domain was perhaps somewhat stronger. Besides possessing three Holy Lands, it also had the Buddhist Sect.

The Buddhist Sect was even stronger than the Holy Lands. It was said that they still maintained contact with the Immortal World.

Within the Immortal World, one of their Buddhist cultivators held a prominent position, governing an entire Immortal Domain, while the current Buddhist Sect was merely one of its branches.

From this background alone, it was evident that they stood above the various Holy Lands.

Although many members of those Holy Lands had ascended to become immortals, none had ever claimed to possess the ability to continue communicating with those in the Immortal World.

Because of this, the Buddhist Sect possessed immense influence throughout the Western Spirit Domain.

One could even say that in the Western Spirit Domain, there might not be government offices, but there would certainly be a temple.

Now, as the endless Evil Souls filled the sky, within the Buddhist Sect’s Holy Land, the Great Lotus Temple, inside the solemn Buddhist Pure Land, faint sounds of temple bells, scripture chanting, and wooden fish echoed continuously throughout the temple.

Although it was called a temple, it resembled an entire Buddhist Kingdom more than anything else. The Great Lotus Temple consisted of countless pagodas and temples, and everyone living there was a monk.

Every monk in the Western Spirit Domain who believed in Buddhism would come here on pilgrimage.

Constantly accumulating Buddhist Power and Merit within the Great Lotus Temple.

As a result, throughout the nearly thousand-li grounds of the Great Lotus Temple, endless auspicious radiance filled the air, while lotus flowers encircled the sun and countless miraculous phenomena manifested.

At the same time, after arriving on pilgrimage, the visiting monks naturally sat together with the resident monks to discuss the Buddhist Dao.

At the center of the Great Lotus Temple, upon a lotus platform, stood an enormous golden Buddha statue, radiating boundless Buddhist Light.

Seated below upon lotus seats were numerous monks. Judging from their robes and ordination scars, each held an extremely lofty position among the Buddhist clergy.

At that moment, they were calmly chanting scriptures as usual while gently striking their wooden fish.

”Namo...”

”Aye...”

The atmosphere was solemn, dignified, and orderly...

Just as the chanting continuously echoed, amidst the boundless auspicious radiance and manifest Buddhist Light, a faint trace of an unusual color quietly spread.

In an instant, the seated monks below seemed to sense something. Slowly, they raised their heads and pressed their palms together.

”Amitabha.”

As those words were spoken in unison, the atmosphere grew increasingly solemn.

Meanwhile, that strange coloration continued deepening, drifting through the air like countless floating catkins.

”Has a Great Demon descended?”

”An existence even more terrifying than the Evil Demons. The Buddha statue is warning us.”

The monks below had already realized what this signified.

”Where Buddha and demons intersect, we should carry the sacred Buddhist treasures down the mountain.”

”Now that the Evil Demons have descended upon the world, and an unknown Great Demon has appeared, this is also an opportunity for our teachings to spread.”

”Among the Four Great Domains of the cultivation world, only the Western Spirit Domain basks in the Buddha’s Light. The other three domains should rightfully offer incense and faith to the Buddha.”

”The time has come.”

”Amitabha.”

The monks chanted together, having already reached their decision because of this omen.

This phenomenon of Buddha and demon intertwining also filled many pilgrims with deep unease.

Compared to the outside world, the Great Lotus Temple was truly a genuine Pure Land.

There were no Evil Demons here, nor were there any so-called Evil Thralls.

Even if any appeared, they would immediately be exterminated by the Great Lotus Temple’s experts.

One could say that this place was the Peach Blossom Spring of the Western Spirit Domain, completely isolated from the chaotic world outside.

But from this moment onward, it would no longer remain so.

The endless malice and evil radiance overwhelmed the Buddhist Light of the Great Lotus Temple with absolute superiority.

Moreover, if anyone carefully observed the towering golden Buddha, they would discover a faint evil light flickering within its lowered eyes.

—

Although the number of Evil Souls covering the sky was indeed terrifying, once dispersed throughout an entire Spirit Domain, they seemed much fewer.

Driven by the Sun and Moon Wheel, every Evil Soul scattered toward every corner of the Western Spirit Domain.

Following Li Tianwei’s orders, their task was simply to completely eradicate the Evil Demons and to drag certain individuals burdened with sin into the Soul Banner.

”Bring the Evil Demons into the banner as well.”

At that moment, Li Tianwei suddenly remembered something and immediately instructed the Sun and Moon Banner to issue one additional command to the Evil Souls.

Li Tianwei had almost forgotten that before arriving in the Western Spirit Domain, he had already specially prepared a place within the Sun and Moon Banner where the Evil Demons could also receive the cleansing of their sins.

The Evil Demons hid deep within human bodies. Even powerful cultivators found it difficult to detect those who had already been completely taken over by them.

However, such concealment meant nothing in Li Tianwei’s eyes.

He possessed one thousand five hundred Dao Intents. Among them, the negative Dao Intents such as Evil, Resentment, and Death served as the perfect guiding beacons for locating the Evil Demons.

After all, within the cultivation world, apart from demonic cultivators, almost no one cultivated such purely negative Dao Intents.

Even if someone did, it was impossible for them to comprehend so many simultaneously.

Unfortunately for the Evil Demons, Li Tianwei was an utterly unreasonable existence.

Relying upon those Dao Intents, he could easily identify the Evil Demons hidden among humans.

With Li Tianwei’s power enhancing them, combined with the Sun and Moon Wheel’s former ability to illuminate everything beneath heaven,

there was nowhere the Evil Demons could escape.

However, the Evil Demons were no longer the greatest threat within the Western Spirit Domain.

Instead, because of the giant eyeball in the sky, countless remnant souls, vengeful ghosts, and all kinds of fragmented thoughts continuously accumulated, merging into completely twisted and grotesque beings known as Evil Thralls.

It was precisely these creatures that had caused the population of the Western Spirit Domain to decline so drastically.

Once a person died, their lingering thoughts and remnant soul would once again merge into heaven and earth, creating even more Evil Thralls.

As a result, these Evil Thralls could never truly be exterminated. They constantly multiplied and grew stronger.

The Evil Demons relied on precisely this method to continuously wipe out every living force within the cultivation world.

In the eyes of cultivators, mortals were not worth much. Their deaths hardly mattered.

But in the eyes of the Evil Demons, things were entirely different.

Their way of thinking and perception differed completely from cultivators.

To them, humans were simply humans. As long as humanity still existed, no one could predict whether some extraordinary individual might one day emerge from among those countless ordinary people.

Therefore, the Evil Demons made no distinction between mortals and cultivators.

If they could kill them, they killed them.

Since cultivators never regarded mortals as equals, very few were willing to rescue or protect them.

Because of this, the Evil Demons’ invasion had proceeded with exceptional smoothness, encountering almost no significant resistance.

Outside the Great Lotus Temple, outside the Holy Lands and sects, corpses littered the ground.

Meanwhile, within the Holy Lands, the Buddhist Sect, and the temples, everything resembled a Pure Land.

The two sides were completely different worlds.

Cultivators like Zhang Qingrou, who were willing to help ordinary mortals eliminate Evil Demons, were exceedingly rare.

Organizations willing to do the same were even rarer.

But today,

these Evil Thralls and Evil Demons would finally encounter their most terrifying opponent.

As the Evil Souls emerged from the Sun and Moon Banner, they charged directly at the Evil Demons and Evil Thralls without caring whether they themselves would be completely annihilated.

As for why they were so decisive and ruthless—

one only needed to spend some time inside the Sun and Moon Banner to understand.

The Evil Souls only had two thoughts.

Either destroy the Evil Demons,

or be destroyed by the Evil Demons and finally escape from the Soul Banner.

No matter how one looked at it, the latter seemed far more desirable.

Thus, they fought with even greater ferocity.

”Die! Come inside with us!”

”It’s much more enjoyable in there than staying outside!”

The Evil Souls screamed wildly. It was difficult to imagine what they had gone through to make them so utterly fearless of death.

Indeed, to the Evil Souls, life and death no longer mattered.

In fact, what they truly desired was to be completely annihilated by the Evil Demons.

Only then would they finally be free.

What they did not know, however, was that Li Tianwei was far too reluctant to let them simply disappear.

Every soul that entered his banner had already left its name within the Book of Life and Death inside.

Once a name had been recorded there, a Soul Imprint would forever exist.

Even if they were completely destroyed outside, Li Tianwei would still think of every possible way to restore them.

After all, the reason he had gathered them into the banner was to help them abandon evil, cleanse their sins, and accumulate Merit.

How could Li Tianwei possibly allow them to perish forever?

Li Tianwei was a good person.

How could he possibly do something so cruel?

Every Evil Soul surged forward recklessly.

Yet the Evil Demons were by no means weak.

They all originated from the same source, and their consciousness was interconnected.

It could be said that between opponents of equal strength, two Evil Demons fighting against Evil Souls would always emerge victorious.

”Where did these Evil Souls come from?”

”Damn it! Why are they targeting me specifically?”

Throughout every corner of the Western Spirit Domain, the Evil Demons could only feel speechless as the Evil Souls relentlessly clung to them.

Most terrifying of all, no matter how they attempted to escape, the Evil Souls always found them again, as though they possessed some means of unmistakably identifying every Evil Demon.

For the first time, the Evil Demons had encountered opponents even more ruthless than themselves.

Just as Li Tianwei directed the Evil Souls in battle against the Evil Demons,

the Heavenly Eye above gently blinked several times before shifting its gaze toward Li Tianwei’s location.

”Oh? I sensed you.”

The moment the Heavenly Eye’s gaze descended,

Li Tianwei also raised his head and looked directly back into it.

Yet in Li Tianwei’s eyes, the Heavenly Eye in the sky remained nothing more than a projection.

Clearly, some existence among the Evil Demons was using that projection to observe him.

The sensation resembled two beings forever facing one another across parallel worlds that could never intersect.

Like the mathematical concept of infinite parallel lines that would never meet.

The only difference was that both sides were aware of each other’s existence, yet neither could truly make contact.

”So it’s him?”

Elsewhere, the Three Demon Lords had gathered together, using the Heavenly Eye of the Western Spirit Domain to observe Li Tianwei.

”Yes. The Crimson Demon died by his hands.”

”This fellow is also extremely strange. In terms of the cultivation world, he should only be at the Nascent Soul Realm. He isn’t even an immortal.”

”I still can’t understand how the Crimson Demon lost to him. According to the memories gathered from those little ones, this person directly swallowed the Crimson Demon.”

”I suspect... he isn’t human.”

The Evil Visage Demon Lord spoke honestly as he watched Li Tianwei.

The Heavenly Pivot Demon Lord, who ruled over the Western Spirit Domain, remained skeptical and found it difficult to believe.

After all, in the eyes of the Three Demon Lords, each regarded the others as rivals.

With the Evil Visage Demon Lord’s abilities, it was entirely possible for him to alter the information obtained from the Northern Spirit Domain.

Because of that, the Heavenly Pivot Demon Lord did not trust this report.

”The Western Spirit Domain is under my responsibility according to the agreement. You have no right to interfere.”

”As for the extent of his strength... we’ll find out soon enough.”
