Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1183: Chapter 1181: Discovery of the Black Market

Following the small door behind the tavern’s underground wine cellar, Gu Xi and the others proceeded forward, quickly utilizing the convenient underground passage, and arrived near the auction house of the black market.

The location of the black market is actually just below the city’s market.

Or perhaps it’s directly adapted from the city’s market.

Only fixed locations or fixed times allow access.

The place before their eyes is the black market located below the market.

Because it is underground, the place is naturally dark; without the small oil lamp given upon entry, it’s nearly impossible to see the situation on the opposite side.

So, there’s no concept of day or night here; one can enter whenever they arrive.

The only thing to consider is the entrance.

Apart from the market above, there are only a few entrances like the sewer and tavern.

Kro seems to have visited here several times, and after entering the black market, he raised the small oil lamp and walked forward.

He soon arrived in front of a platform made of stacked wooden boxes.

By the light of the lamp, Gu Xi took a glance and could discern that the boxes forming the platform were not abandoned empty boxes.

Each box was filled with items.

As for what was stored inside, Gu Xi was temporarily unclear.

Upon reaching this spot, Kro turned and said to Gu Xi, ”Brother Gu, can you release your coffin?”

Gu Xi looked puzzled; they hadn’t used the Holy Silver Evil Coffin during their journey, so why release it now?

Fortunately, Gu Xi is reasonable.

Having previously agreed with Kro, he raised his hand and released the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

At this moment Kro spoke to the auction house people, ”These wood pieces and things hung on the sides, remember to be gentle when removing them, and assign someone to manage this coffin.

Oil it and wax it.

I will cover all the costs, make sure this coffin is handled well.”

Observing Kro’s actions, Gu Xi instantly understood what was happening.

It seems Kro had hidden most of the ancient artifacts excavated this time in the wood pile.

Even if something goes wrong, no one will focus on these wood pieces.

In this situation, Gu Xi couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

At that time, how little had Kro thought of him?

Despite having displayed his power, he still played these games.

The people at the black market didn’t care; they removed the wood and sundries tied to the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

And they opened it directly in front of Gu Xi and the others.

Gu Xi discovered inside were some old jars and gold and silver utensils.

Gu Xi himself couldn’t discern the origins of these items.

But whether it was Kro or the auction house people, they handled them meticulously.

Afraid that a moment of carelessness might break the items they held.

If that happened, they truly wouldn’t know whom to blame.

At this point, Gu Xi finally relaxed, taking over the oil lamp Kro held earlier, and started wandering around the black market.

Besides the auction house ahead, the black market also had stalls selling other items.

Each stall only lit a small oil lamp, just enough to let people see the items without seeing the seller.

Gu Xi walked near these stalls, holding the small oil lamp, examining the items by its light.

After a brief walk, Gu Xi noticed that many items were in shades of gray, with some green quality ones, and just a few pitiful blue ones.

As for items of purple quality or above, he hadn’t seen any.

It makes sense.

Beite Alliance is merely one of the many nations in this world, not exactly a strong empire capital.

It won’t have situations overflowing with purple armor.

However, this was advantageous for Gu Xi.

Gray and white quality items represented an opportunity for him to drive prices down.

If Gu Xi found any attributes appealing, he could purchase in bulk.

Just like the stall before him, filled with white feathers, all uniform in length.

If not paying special attention, Gu Xi would’ve thought it was a place selling duck feathers.

Yet the stall owner explained to Gu Xi.

All these feathers were shed by the Great Angels.

Each feather was blue quality, imbued with the Power of Sanctity.

Using such feathers to make arrows would apply a Holy Light effect during attack.

Gu Xi picked up a feather to inspect, and immediately rolled his eyes.

The feather contained the Power of Sanctity, but it wasn’t emanating from within; rather, it had merely absorbed some Holy Light Power.

Upon closer inspection, all feathers were gray quality, yet they were claimed to be blue quality.

Couldn’t fathom what he was thinking.

As Gu Xi tossed aside the feather, suddenly he felt something.

With the feather gripped in his fingertips, Gu Xi spoke to the stall owner, ”These are gray quality; don’t go boasting about blue quality or Power of Sanctity.

Those things are useless to me; I’ll buy these as gray quality feathers, then need to clean off the Holy Light Power later.

Quite troublesome, do you have any without the Holy Light Power?”

Hearing this, the stall owner glanced up at Gu Xi and then beckoned him over.

”Come for a detailed discussion.”

Gu Xi surveyed his surroundings, lowered his head, and leaned in.

”You really don’t want feathers with Holy Light?”

”No, they’re troublesome and useless, how many do you have?”

”At least tens of thousands of sets.”

The stall owner quietly said, twelve feathers per set, just right to create a dozen arrows.

Tens of thousands of sets is quite a substantial amount.

Gu Xi pondered, ”Alright, ten sets for a gold coin, I’ll take whatever you have, no need to negotiate further, the price is already quite high for gray quality goods.”

The stall owner thought for a moment, the price wasn’t bad indeed; even though he couldn’t fool anyone with blue quality feathers, he could sell off all feathers and recoup funds.

”Alright, do you need help delivering them?”

Gu Xi considered, then raised his hand, and the Holy Silver Evil Coffin moved over from the auction house.

”Load them up, there’s ample space inside, lots can be stored.”

Once hearing this, the stall owner immediately sprang into action.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi kept looking around, gauging other stalls.

It was then that Gu Xi’s gaze focused; he spotted something at another stall.
