Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1152: Chapter 1150: The Enemy’s Origins

With a turn, Gu Xi returned to the position he had come from.

Gu Xi hadn’t jumped off the Holy Silver Evil Coffin yet, when Kro, who had followed along, shouted out.

”Damn it, there’s actually a Cyclops appearing in this place. What is the Calida Alliance doing, letting anything in.”

”Do you know what’s going on here?”

Gu Xi glanced at Kro, who was jumping around.

”How would I not know? I’m an archaeologist and paleontologist, okay? These are relics from the Giant Tribe of the Ancient Hundred Races. Back then, the most famous were the Hundred-armed Giants.

A Cyclops is basically an underdeveloped existence.

But now, after so many years, it’s these underdeveloped beings that have survived, while the grand Hundred-armed Giants have turned into fossils.”

Kro jumped in front of the Cyclops’s corpse, examining it up and down, ”These aren’t the tribes that escaped from ancient times, these are ones that have been tamed by someone.

They’ve almost lost the power of the Earth Element.

Also, look at these bones, there’s no sign of much shattering.

It’s obvious that they haven’t undergone specialized Giant training methods, they’ve just been raised on normal food.

So, their power is strong, but compared to the ancient giants, it’s far inferior.

As for their weapons.

This is a standardized crossbow cannon from the Shulka Empire.

I’m not very familiar with this, the only thing I know is that the Shulka Empire is rather poor, so their crossbow cannons can fire just about anything. Proper crossbow arrows if they have them, but if not, iron bars, wooden sticks, anything can be shot.

Though the range is a bit shorter, the power is still decent.”

”Wait, when you say the range is a bit shorter, do you mean from here to there?”

Gu Xi pointed to the forest area where the Cyclops ambushed them before and asked.

”Yeah, a proper crossbow cannon has a range of five thousand meters, but this one only flies a little over three thousand meters. Is there a problem?”

”No problem, I just wanted to ask if the rather poor Shulka Empire would sell siege weapons externally.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi quickly changed his demeanor.

In the Blacksmith Shop in Yalidu City, the various siege weapons made, whether in terms of power or range, don’t match up to this.

A distance of three thousand meters is already not easily reachable for Gu Xi.

But based on what Kro said, this distance of three thousand meters here is actually the standard range for precise shooting.

Not making a move to buy some siege weapons for research now, when else would be the time?

”I don’t know about that myself, I only have some connections with three Human Realms, but my connections with their high-level members aren’t significant.

And the people I’m in touch with don’t deal in this area. If you truly want siege weapons, I can at most put you in touch, but I can’t do much else.”

While Kro said this, Gu Xi also took over the examination of the Cyclops.

”The skin and muscles are good, the bones are still okay, the level should be around Level 9.

A combat squad of two, together, has more than Level 10 combat power.

However, for the sake of long-range combat capability, their skill in close combat hasn’t been greatly enhanced.

My subordinates being able to easily engage them in melee shows this point.

What can you deduce from this?”

”What else can be seen?”

”They are an exclusive long-range legion, meaning they never considered close combat issues.

This power behind them, it’s not simple.”

”After all that, that’s what you’ve figured out?”

Kro was somewhat speechless, initially thinking that with Gu Xi’s ramblings, he had discerned something.

Turned out, just this?

As Kro was about to say something, his eyes suddenly widened.

He saw a massive city gate appear behind Gu Xi, from which a group of Skeleton Soldiers stormed out, dragging the two corpses into the gate.

Seeing Kro’s reaction, Gu Xi just smiled.

”Don’t worry, I can protect you.”

”No, is that your city?”

Kro asked, pointing to the city gate that was slowly disappearing.

”Yes, I can deploy the city onto the battlefield at any time, and the troops from my city can also be sent out at any time, so you’re safe now.”

Gu Xi said with some pride.

”Alright, I’m starting to believe you are an Undead Mage, what is this special ability or something?”

Kro asked curiously.

”The skills of an Undead Mage are not easy to acquire, not everyone has them.”

Gu Xi explained casually.

”Let’s get on the road now, do you have a map? If you do, give me one, my mount knows how to find the way.”

”I do, but the map is one I drew myself, with some of my archaeological discovery sites marked, I can’t show it to you.”

”Then just sketch the route we need to take on the ground, my Pathfinding Skill is decent, I can remember the map after just a glance.”

”Alright then.” Hearing Gu Xi’s ability, Kro quickly began drawing the map on the ground.

After all, Gu Xi had proven his strength and profession, as well as his combat power.

Kro was also willing to believe Gu Xi could protect him back to the city.

At this moment, there’s no need to hide anything. After drawing out the map, he could quickly return to the city.

As Kro was drawing the map, Gu Xi retrieved the Death Incarnation and Equipment Carrier, then lifted his head to survey the surroundings, using the Spirit Lamp to confirm whether there were any eyes on them.

Ever since the six paths in the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp were filled, Gu Xi increasingly felt the enhanced effect.

Now, he could use the eyes of the Equipment Carrier without necessarily relying on them directly.

The Spirit Lamp at this moment played a certain role.

Gu Xi could easily see all the eyes sweeping over.

Whether they were on him or not, he could easily see.

This made it quite easy for Gu Xi to monitor the surrounding situation.

”Your psychic power isn’t meant to be used this way, using it like that will only make you feel increasingly irritable.”

Seeing Gu Xi’s gaze, while drawing the map, Kro suddenly said.

”What did you say?”

”I said your psychic power isn’t meant to be used that way. Psychic power is best concentrated to do certain things, not randomly touching those of ordinary psychic sights.

Earlier, I acquired the ability to passively read and believed I had obtained a Divine Skill, but later I found out.

When you influence others’ minds, others’ minds will influence you too.”

Kro muttered before standing up, ”It’s done, the map is here. Take a look.”
