Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi led everyone away from Neon directly. Before leaving, he briefly considered whether he should say a word to Canero. After all, during the previous battle, Canero had extended a helping hand.

However, after thinking it over, Zhang Yi decided against it.

Back then, their common enemy had been Kami-musubi-no-Kami.

But now, Kami-musubi-no-Kami was already dead, struck down by heavenly thunder. Moreover, Zhang Yi had slipped into the void at that moment, leaving the crisis solely on Canero’s shoulders.

At this point, the other party might concentrate the power of the Colombia naval fleet to intercept Zhang Yi.

Theoretically speaking, Zhang Yi didn’t need to worry about being trapped by them.

But three years into the apocalypse, the former world’s number one military power should not be underestimated. Zhang Yi wasn’t willing to gamble on just how deep their reserves truly ran.

So it was better to leave first and wait until he returned to a safe place before expressing his gratitude. He would naturally keep the favor in his heart, but he needed to wait for the right opportunity to repay it.

From Neon to Tianshui City, Zhang Yi continuously activated his Spatial Shifting ability. It was quite some time before he finally arrived.

Along the way, he passed by Mist Valley on Star Island and cast a distant glance at it.

That entire area was now surrounded by a massive number of naval warships.

Not only Colombia’s, but also those of the East China Sea Major Region, as well as other neighboring nations.

Deng Shentong had stirred up no small commotion there in order to draw away the Colombia navy.

Zhang Yi felt a nagging sense of unease in his heart, though he couldn’t quite explain why.

If they truly angered the civilization of the underground world, causing an existence like the Gatekeeper of the Underworld to appear in the mortal realm, they would all be in serious trouble.

For reference, this Kami-musubi-no-Kami had an ability index of around 30,000 points.

If its ability hadn’t been the summoning type within the special trait category, Zhang Yi would likely have had a far tougher fight.

The power of someone like that was mainly displayed on the battlefield, not in one-on-one combat.

And even he could appear in the mortal world.

So it stood to reason that sooner or later, the Gatekeeper of the Underworld would also appear upon this land.

When that time came... Zhang Yi might be facing a very big problem.

”I must keep getting stronger, stronger and stronger! Growing so powerful that no one can ever threaten me, or the lives of those around me!”

Zhang Yi streaked across the distant sky above Star Island, not pausing there for even a single moment.

But the instant he passed through that region.

Deep beneath the earth, within an endless abyss too profound to see the bottom, a pair of deep purple eyes suddenly snapped open.

”A familiar presence.” (Mysterious civilization language)

...

Zhang Yi made his way back to Tianshui City. Only when he saw this familiar city, swallowed by heavy snow, did he finally let his guard down completely.

No matter when, no matter how far he had roamed from this place.

Whenever he returned to this familiar land, his heart would always be filled with a sense of safety.

Zhang Yi flashed a few times and arrived at the shelter.

A familiar warmth enveloped his entire body. He released Deng Shentong, Liang Yue, and the others from the Shadow Space.

Rare relaxed expressions appeared on everyone’s faces.

And those who had experienced this level of mission with Zhang Yi for the first time, Deng Shentong, Baili Changqing, Wu Di, and the others, all wore the faces of people who had narrowly escaped death.

This trip to Neon had thrown far too many unexpected surprises at them.

They had originally thought they were just tagging along with Zhang Yi, riding his coattails for a swaggering, arrogant stomping of some small nation.

Who could have guessed they would run into so many troublesome bastards? And during the fighting, they had nearly died!

Zhang Yi stripped off his battle suit, kicked off his combat boots, and stepped barefoot onto the soft carpet. Completely disregarding his image, he flopped directly onto the sofa.

”God, I’m exhausted!”

His head rested against the edge of the sofa as he shouted loudly, taking a few deep breaths.

This method allowed him to vent the tension in his heart.

That was right. When he had been fighting Kami-musubi-no-Kami, due to the massive surge of adrenaline, Zhang Yi hadn’t felt any fear. He had only felt an immense thrill, a burning desire to tear into him.

But after the battle ended, once his whole body relaxed, only then did he truly feel how dangerous that fight had been.

After all, that had been a powerhouse from the mysterious civilization of the underground world! With an ability index as high as 30,000 points.

And according to Canero, existences like Kami-musubi-no-Kami were not limited to just one in Edo. There were at least two more!

If they had also made a move at that time, it would have been a genuine crisis for Zhang Yi!

The moment Zhang Yi’s words fell, Yang Siya walked over with a smile, carrying several cups of coffee.

She was wearing a beige turtleneck sweater that perfectly accentuated her curvy figure, paired with a pair of blue jeans below.

The moment Zhang Yi returned, she had received a notification from the shelter’s intelligent system, so out of habit, she had prepared food to restore his energy and spirit.

By now, she had also become a qualified nutritionist. The supernatural food she created could not only restore others’ abilities and stamina but also soothe their minds.

And the best part was, it tasted amazing too!

”Have a cappuccino and get some proper rest!”

Yang Siya personally handed a cup of coffee to Zhang Yi, then casually passed the remaining cups to Fatty Xu, telling him to distribute them to everyone.

After that, she sat down beside Zhang Yi as if no one else was there and began massaging his sore, aching muscles.

Zhang Yi’s body went completely limp. Right now, he wished he could melt into a puddle of water and merge with the sofa.

”Zhang Yi, what do we do now...”

Deng Shentong walked over, wanting to ask if Zhang Yi had any instructions.

Zhang Yi really wanted to lie down on Yang Siya’s soft, plush thighs and rest for a while, but since they had just returned from Neon, he couldn’t afford to be too careless.

So he said to Deng Shentong, ”Have your people keep a close watch on maritime movements! Pay special attention to the Colombia navy in particular.”

”I just ran into The Piercer, and I don’t know what their attitude is about all this yet.”

”Oh, right!”

He looked up at Deng Shentong, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

”The matter has blown up big time now! The Major Region will find out, and Shengjing will find out too. How are we going to handle things when that happens?”

Deng Shentong furrowed his brows slightly.

Indeed, the original plan had been to sneak in quietly and take the thing away.

But now things had blown up. This was practically a direct invasion of a nation’s major metropolis.

And indirectly, because of Zhang Yi’s actions, the loss of the parasitic Nomadic Insects had doomed five hundred thousand people in Edo City to death.

It would probably stir up quite a storm of international public opinion.

Still, Deng Shentong said to Zhang Yi, ”Don’t worry. We’ve returned with a great victory this time. I’ll handle this problem! Even the higher-ups in Blizzard City and the authorities in Shengjing won’t have too much to say about it.”
