Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

After Zhang Yi finished listening to Fatty Xu, he patted his shoulder firmly.

”I knew this day would come eventually. It’s best that you understand on your own.”

”Just ask if you need anything. Oh, by the way, the Ground Centipede farm is already developing nicely. I’ll provide you with unlimited Essence. Don’t worry about having poor talent—we have a big operation here, I’ll supplement you until you can’t absorb anymore.”

”A weak foundation doesn’t matter. The most important thing is that you realize you must get stronger.”

In this world, everything ultimately depended on oneself.

Zhang Yi had never interfered too much with Fatty Xu in the past, nor had he forced him to change his mindset and strive for strength.

Because human nature was difficult to change. And becoming stronger could only happen when a person recognized its necessity and worked toward it.

Zhang Yi had given Fatty Xu many chances.

A person would always realize their own insignificance, and thus crave powerful strength.

However, if Fatty Xu never came to that realization, he would eventually die on the battlefield. Zhang Yi had mentally prepared himself for that possibility.

Fatty Xu nodded, moved.

”Thanks, boss! But I still have one question.”

He scratched his head. ”It’s about supernatural powers... how exactly do you train them?”

He looked at his hands, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

Right now, although his ability index had increased and his control over ice and snow had strengthened significantly, his actual combat experience was still far too lacking, and he had no systematic method for improving his power’s effectiveness.

Zhang Yi frowned.

”This... you have to figure it out on your own! I’ve been slowly working through it myself, combining experimentation to develop new skills.”

”Also, imagination is crucial. You need to apply your limited abilities to infinite scenarios, forming different applications.”

Take Zhang Yi himself, for example.

The foundation of all his abilities actually came from three sources: [Alternate Space], [Void Force], and [Time Force].

By combining these abilities against different opponents, he could achieve limitless possibilities.

As for systematic training? Don’t joke around.

The apocalypse had arrived less than three years ago. Everyone was still figuring things out as they went along, no one had a fully formed cultivation system.

”Boss, I understand! I’ll meditate on it myself!”

Fatty Xu clenched his fists and said.

Zhang Yi rubbed his chin, thought for a moment, then said, ”There is someone you could ask, though. She might be more professional than me in this area.”

Fatty Xu’s eyes lit up. ”Who is it?”

”Your old flame, Li Yangyang!”

Zhang Yi said with a knowing smile.

Fatty Xu looked a bit embarrassed.

”Aw, boss, you’re bringing that up again!”

”I’m serious! She’s a high-level Transcendent from the Shengjing District. That place is currently at the forefront of supernatural power research. Maybe she knows something that could help you.”

Zhang Yi draped his arm over Fatty Xu’s shoulder. ”If you get any useful intel out of her, don’t forget to share.”

”Of course!”

Fatty Xu chuckled.

For the next period of time, Tianshui City remained quiet as usual. The Jiangnan Region had no S-rank missions to disturb Zhang Yi, and outside affairs had nothing to do with him.

During this time, the establishment of the Ground Centipede farm solved the problem of helping lower-level Transcendents improve their strength.

Anyone below Epsilon-class could rapidly increase their power under the [Elemental Ore Vein + Ground Centipede] cultivation model.

As a result, Zhang Yi’s entire team’s strength skyrocketed in just two months!

The team’s current overall strength was as follows:

Zhang Yi: 20,000 points;

Huahua: 13,000 points;

Zhou Ke’er: 9,500 points;

Mu Yan: 9,500 points;

Fatty Xu: 9,000 points;

You Jiguang: 9,000 points;

Yang Siya: 9,200 points;

Lu Keran: 9,800 points;

Liang Yue: 9,999 — infinitely close to Epsilon-class.

This rapid ability index growth came thanks to the development of the Ground Centipede farm. Of course, they had only improved on the index level for now. The combat-oriented members, especially Fatty Xu, still needed real battles to test themselves.

On the other hand, support-type Transcendents like Zhou Ke’er and Yang Siya actually improved faster because they frequently used their abilities in daily life.

Liang Yue had obtained a God’s Essence Shard, which essentially gave her a ticket to Epsilon-class.

However, a true breakthrough still required time to settle and a suitable opportunity. But as long as no unexpected incidents occurred, her advancement to Epsilon-class was practically guaranteed.

What was more surprising was that after absorbing a trace of the Rite Spirit and the God’s Essence Shard, Lu Keran’s ability index reached 9,800 points!

This made her even more powerful when analyzing and reconstructing materials.

The first thing she did was craft an entirely new set of weapons and equipment for Zhang Yi.

Guns went without saying—they were further enhanced.

But right now, Zhang Yi’s melee weapon was the one that most needed an overhaul.

”I currently have the humanoid weapon [Sword in the Tree]. It’s quite versatile and has regenerative properties, so I don’t worry about it being destroyed. Its downside is that it’s afraid of fire and has slightly weak attack power.”

”[Holy Judgment] has strong offensive capabilities, but its function is too singular.”

”Is there a way to merge these two weapons into one?”

Zhang Yi had proposed this idea to Lu Keran.

After hearing him out, Lu Keran thought for a long time before giving him her opinion.

”If you want to do that, there’s only one way. Completely transform the Sword in the Tree into [Yi Metal] material. Although Babu is brain-dead, his body is still alive. This kind of modification is extremely challenging, and the success rate is very low.”

She rested her chin on her hand. ”If I could reach Epsilon-class, I might be able to complete this modification. Then, big brother, you’d have the world’s most top-tier weapon!”

Zhang Yi smiled. ”That would be absolutely wonderful. Looks like I’ll have to wait patiently for a while!”

God Essence was no longer mysterious to him now.

If he had another chance to enter a secret realm, he would acquire another piece for Lu Keran.

Lu Keran snapped her fingers. ”But there’s a substitute plan I can use for now!”

”With my current abilities, I can create nano-level robots. I’ll forge a large number of nanobots from Yi Metal and inject them into Babu’s body. That way, when he transforms into the Sword in the Tree, his attack power will be greatly enhanced! Plus, his fire resistance will improve.”

Zhang Yi waved his hand. ”You’re the expert when it comes to weapons. I’ll leave it all to you!”

He directly handed over the brain-dead Babu to Lu Keran.

Not long after, Lu Keran came out of the laboratory, excitedly handing Zhang Yi a dark silver bracelet.

”Big brother, this is the Sword in the Tree! Your new weapon!”

Zhang Yi swallowed hard.

”This is... Babu?”

That huge person had turned into this now?

Lu Keran said, ”His original form can turn into a plant. As long as the core area is preserved, it can regenerate. So the humanoid body isn’t important. I kept only the necessary parts, and that’s enough.”
