Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi blinked and fell into silence.

Borrowing their power, was it?

What Zhou Ke’er had said wasn’t something so simple—she meant forming alliances with others.

That would mean even more entanglements.

”I’ve already started cooperating with the Deng family. That’s progress, isn’t it!”

Zhang Yi said with a smile.

Zhou Ke’er shook her head and said to Zhang Yi, ”You must have power that belongs to you!”

She spread open her right hand and began analyzing carefully, while Zhang Yi and Lu Keran listened attentively.

”For instance, if we truly want to carry out an alien migration plan, we’ll need massive amounts of manpower and resources.”

”You always prefer to rely on your own abilities because it’s hard for you to trust others. But someday, when we truly face danger, more people will generate greater strength.”

”So I think, shouldn’t we take out our excess resources and cultivate some trustworthy people?”

Zhang Yi said, ”You mean the three bases?”

Zhou Ke’er was right.

The resources Zhang Yi currently held in his hands were completely excessive.

Over twenty percent of the Elemental Ore Vein—if those energy sources were given to Blizzard City, they would sustain over a million people for decades.

How many people did Zhang Yi have?

Later on, because they had too many Elemental Ore Veins to use up, they even started artificially feeding Ground Centipedes to cultivate Transcendents.

But even so, this stuff was only used by a few people in the household.

So Zhang Yi had previously considered cultivating another batch of trusted death warriors.

First, he would definitely select people from the three bases who had passed years of trials, had cultivation potential, and bore no rebellious tendencies.

Zhou Ke’er said instead, ”We can start by cultivating people close to us. If the cultivation system matures later, we can also recruit outstanding talent from outside.”

Zhang Yi waved his hand directly: ”Let’s talk about that later! If all sorts of random people flood into Tianshui City, it will definitely cause chaos. How many of those wolves out there are actually easy to tame?”

”But what you said makes a lot of sense. We can indeed allocate a little bit of resources to cultivate Tianshui City’s Transcendents.”

Saying this, he even smiled bitterly and shook his head.

”They’re really pathetically weak right now!”

Zhang Yi had deliberately weakened Tianshui City’s three bases to prevent them from rebelling one day.

But for now, the main conflict was external, so he could allow them to grow stronger.

The poor three bases—even their leaders were currently only at the level of ordinary investigation team members. Who would believe that if they said it out loud?

After thinking it over, Zhang Yi decided to hand this task to Yang Xinxin.

Because her mind was the most meticulous and her brain the sharpest.

As for Zhou Ke’er, she was also very smart, but in terms of management ability, she was still slightly inferior to Yang Xinxin.

”Directly give them the Essence from the Ground Centipedes to boost the strength of the three base leaders. Then have them recommend their most reliable Transcendents under them, and cultivate them in batches.”

”Character comes first, ability second. I don’t want any rebels among my subordinates.”

Zhou Ke’er asked Zhang Yi, ”Since this is your team, shouldn’t you give it a name?”

Zhang Yi thought briefly, then casually decided the name of this future iron force of Huaxu Nation.

”Shadow Ambush.”

Meaning lying low within the shadows, steadily staying alive.

He didn’t expect this force to have extremely powerful combat capabilities—just that when the base needed to be built in the future, these people could help with the work, act as guards, and so on.

But the future direction of this force turned out to be something he never anticipated.

All of it was simply because Zhang Yi was too wealthy—so wealthy that even he himself didn’t know exactly how many resources he had in hand.

At the very least, the resources he currently controlled alone were comparable to half a region.

...

The following days remained calm and uneventful. Unless something earth-shattering happened, in the current world, Epsilon-class Transcendents were already at the pinnacle of the pyramid and would rarely act.

But one morning, Zhang Yi received news from Blizzard City.

He hadn’t asked Blizzard City to provide him with this service, but Zhu Zheng, to show his trust in Zhang Yi, had someone send him the latest electronic edition of world news every day.

The news was projected onto a hundred-inch TV on the wall.

One piece of news surprised Zhang Yi.

A few months ago, he had led his people to the Southwest Region. At that time, the Star Island Fog Valley had already undergone a mutation, and the spreading mist extended hundreds of kilometers.

This abnormal phenomenon had once made Zhang Yi nervous.

Later, when he entered the Nash Kingdom, he could basically confirm that beneath Star Island, there absolutely existed a similarly powerful civilization!

Back then, several major forces around the area had sent people to investigate.

Among them was the East Sea Region.

Zhang Yi believed that after this mission, if Zhuque Jiang Han could survive, she would almost certainly become the East Sea Region’s second Epsilon-class Transcendent.

But things turned out differently than he expected.

Because according to intelligence, the East Sea Region’s second Epsilon-class had indeed been born.

But that person wasn’t Zhuque.

It was Qinglong.

That man who had once forcibly exploded his potential, temporarily breaking through to the Epsilon-class realm, and even after healing, had only five years left to live—Qinglong Xu Xiaolong.

According to intelligence, after learning he didn’t have long to live, he resolutely joined this mission to explore Star Island.

And in the end, he actually obtained a portion of God Essence, breaking through to the Epsilon-class realm.

Now, not only had he healed his hidden injuries, but his strength had also skyrocketed.

”What a surprise!”

Zhang Yi muttered in astonishment.

But this kind of thing was always unexpected yet reasonable.

Who among those who survived until now after the apocalypse wasn’t a genius?

Who hadn’t broken through countless obstacles to survive?

Those weak ones, those without backing, had long since died.

”This guy really makes me see him in a new light! To reach this point relying on his own abilities, perhaps his future achievements won’t be inferior to Xuanwu’s.”

Zhang Yi took a deep breath and sighed, ”This means that soon, the East Sea Region will have three Epsilon-class Transcendents. Not bad!”

In comparison, the Jiangnan Region was quite bleak. But those matters had nothing to do with Zhang Yi.

Zhang Yi walked to the window and gazed at the distant ocean.

It wasn’t visible from here, but his heart had already flown to that island in the middle of the ocean, shrouded in thick fog.

Suddenly, a ferocious face flashed into his mind.

Before the Sky Dragon King died, that curse-like roar echoed in his mind.

”Zhang Yi! I hate you!”

”Hahaha! Do you think killing me ends everything?”

”No, it doesn’t! Sooner or later, you’ll end up the same way I did—that’s your fate!”

”You’ve been marked. You can’t escape. They’ll catch you eventually, and you’ll die worse than me!”

...

Zhang Yi’s heart suddenly tightened, and his brow deeply furrowed.

”Damn thing, even dead, you still remember to curse me! You deserved to be turned into cat food by me!”
