Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi crossed his arms and watched the two in the distance. He noticed Jue Guo wore a gentle smile the whole time, while Liu Ruyan kept alternating between crying and laughing.

After a while, Jue Guo walked over to Zhang Yi, bowing his waist even deeper this time.

”Lord Chaos, may I ask you to allow Miss Liu to stay on the Snowy Highland?”

Zhang Yi raised an eyebrow. ”You want her to stay? In what capacity? Don’t forget, you were the Burial Master of the Tantric Sect, a monk. How can a monk have a lover?”

Jue Guo looked at Zhang Yi, smiling foolishly. ”The Burial Master is dead. The one before you is only the shepherd’s son.”

A great transformation was already underway on the Snowy Highland.

Sangga Monastery had been overthrown; perhaps people no longer needed the Burial Master.

His existence would only invite turmoil. People wished to keep the Burial Master in their hearts, not to have him looming over the world in person.

Zhang Yi asked, ”If she is willing to stay, I have no objection.”

Liu Ruyan then came over, her eyes filled with gratitude as she looked at Zhang Yi.

”Mr. Chaos, thank you for giving me salvation and release!”

Zhang Yi said, ”The path is the one you chose yourself. I promised you that if you did me this favor, I would repay you. So I agree you can remain here. But have you really thought it through?”

Zhang Yi’s gaze held a hint of doubt as he looked at Liu Ruyan.

A woman who had lived long among brothels—would she truly choose to stay by a man’s side out of love?

Or was it because of Jue Guo’s strength that she wanted the shelter of a protective tree?

Liu Ruyan smiled lightly. ”He makes me feel my existence has value. He is different from every man I’ve met before. Even after learning who I was, he still treats me as an ordinary woman and loves me.”

Zhang Yi rubbed his nose. ”If that’s the case, then stay.”

Liu Ruyan bowed to Zhang Yi in thanks.

She said with a smile, ”Some people got the Demon Kingdom’s treasure, others got redeemed from their former lives as courtesans.”

Zhang Yi crossed his arms and answered with a laugh, ”Perhaps to him, you are his most important treasure.”

He gestured with his eyes toward the Burial Master not far away; the Burial Master looked this way, waiting for Liu Ruyan to return.

”We all have bright futures ahead, don’t we?”

Liu Ruyan smiled, bade Zhang Yi farewell, then turned and walked toward the Burial Master.

Soon after, the two left Great Snow Mountain hand in hand, unconcerned about others.

From now on, there would be no more Burial Master in this world, only Jue Guo.

As for the new ruler of the Snowy Highland...

Zhang Yi looked at Luozhuo. ”Congratulations, you obtained everything you wanted. But from now on the Snowy Highland will have to be cleaned up from a total mess. Work hard.”

Luozhuo hurriedly said, ”Lord Chaos, we will still need your help in the future.”

A meaningful smile appeared on Zhang Yi’s face as he rubbed his fingers together.

Luozhuo’s face filled with puzzlement. ”What are you—?”

Zhang Yi said, ”I can help, but benefits must be exchanged for help!”

Luozhuo was stunned; he probably still did not fully understand Zhang Yi’s character.

Zhang Yi laughed heartily and led Liang Yue and the others down from Great Snow Mountain.

...

The first place Zhang Yi went after descending was naturally the Pagyi Family, to seek Pagyi Gesang and demand the original Epic of King Gesar.

But when he arrived at the Pagyi estate, what he saw gave him a pain in the head.

The Pagyi Family no longer existed.

The place was filled with Resistance fighters and serfs. They had seized the Pagyi lands and were gleefully pillaging all the goods.

The once magnificent courtyard had been stripped bare. People joyfully moved into the former master’s rooms, food was looted, and the frozen meat from the cold storage had long been dragged out for open-air barbecues.

They had gone too long without a proper full meal; now that they could take back what belonged to them, how could they not be excited?

Yet if this chaos continued for long, many more would likely die.

But Zhang Yi left that to the locals to manage; he did not care.

What he cared about was, where had Pagyi Gesang gone?

Zhang Yi looked around and casually grabbed a Resistance fighter to ask, ”Where is Pagyi Gesang? Is he dead?”

The fighter had seen Zhang Yi at the base before. Seeing him now, he immediately showed respect.

”It’s you, honored lord! You want Pagyi Gesang? He’s over there!”

The fighter pointed toward the sky. Zhang Yi turned and looked; he saw a flagpole hundreds of meters high.

At the top of the flagpole hung a huge clump of mangled flesh, blood streaming down and staining the upper half of the pole red.

”That’s Pagyi Gesang!”

The Resistance fighter bared his teeth, his eyes full of vengeful satisfaction.

”We killed him! But dying alone was too easy for him, so we made his skull into a chamber pot, his skin into drums! Then we hung him up for everyone to see every day, to relieve the resentment of years of oppression!”

Zhang Yi examined closely and nodded.

”It is indeed him.”

Although the face was unrecognizable, it would be very difficult to find another person as fat on the Snowy Highland.

Zhang Yi frowned. He did not feel sorrow at Pagyi Gesang’s death, but retrieving the original Epic of King Gesar would now require more effort.

Zhang Yi had to find Luozhuo again and ask him to help locate the Pagyi family’s original copy and hand it over.

Luozhuo readily agreed and immediately arranged many soldiers to help search.

Over the next few days, Zhang Yi and the others stayed in Sala City, waiting for results.

They dug everywhere but could not find the hidden original Epic of King Gesar.

Then one night, a visitor arrived at Zhang Yi’s residence.

Under the deep night, a giant man like an iron tower came to Zhang Yi’s door, put down a heavy box, and then drifted away.

Zhang Yi went out into the courtyard to look at the box. He recognized the man’s identity.

It was Suolang Deji, Pagyi Gesang’s personal bodyguard.

Zhang Yi carefully opened the box. Sure enough, neatly inside were rolls of human-skin parchment.

Zhang Yi laughed. ”That fellow actually kept his promise.”

...

On the border of the Snowy Highland, in a snow vehicle, Pagyi Gesang sat in the back seat, holding a roast chicken and taking big bites.

Suolang Deji drove him toward the Shengjing district.

”Master, shall we just leave like this? With Lord Chaos’s support you might become the King of the Snowy Highland!”

Suolang Deji said.

Pagyi Gesang bit off a large piece of chicken, chewing and smiling as he said, ”Forget it! That position is too hot—without top-tier power, whoever sits there will die sooner or later.”

He crossed his legs and leaned leisurely on a soft leather sofa.

”I already have many beautiful wives and concubines, and countless fortunes. No need to fight them for more.”

”Let the name Pagyi disappear with that substitute’s death.”
