Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Judge Lu’s gun was too fast. Even though it had been a long time since he last experienced it, Deng Shentong still felt a powerful crisis this time.

The light of 【Saintly Body Enhancement】 gleamed on his skin like a sturdy suit of armor. He twisted his body nimbly, shifting away from the vital areas where the bullet might strike.

He dodged the shot aimed at his left chest, but a bullet still hit him in the waist!

When the black bullet struck his body, it rippled out an invisible force. Even with the protection of 【Saintly Body Enhancement】 and his combat suit, he still felt intense pain.

”Hmph!”

A trickle of blood seeped from the corner of his mouth, but he gritted his teeth against the agony and fired two bullets back at Judge Lu!

Judge Lu had more experience than him. The moment Deng Shentong raised his hand, he had already dodged in a Z-shaped pattern to the side and rear.

The first bullet was easily evaded.

The second bullet passed right in front of his face. A victorious smile curled on Judge Lu’s lips. But then, in the next instant, that bullet suddenly exploded right before his eyes!

A powerful shockwave surged toward his face, sending him flying straight off the top of the train car!

”Judge Lu, times have changed!”

Deng Shentong said coldly.

Deng Corporation Technology’s technical standards were world-leading. In the field of supernatural powers, unable to break through the limit of the Epsilon-class, they had taken a different path, frantically researching weapons.

That special bullet Deng Shentong used could be detonated actively by his supernatural power, setting off the explosives packed into the bullet’s warhead.

Judge Lu didn’t fall off the train. At the last moment, one hand firmly gripped the edge of the train car.

Then, with a hard yank, he flipped himself behind Deng Shentong.

Still in midair, he fired a shot at the back of Deng Shentong’s head!

Deng Shentong turned without hesitation and fired back!

Once again, the two bullets collided in midair. The terrifying energy explosion forced them both to pull back, eyeing each other warily.

Five bullets were gone. Only the last one remained.

Neither of them dared to make a rash move. If this last bullet couldn’t take the other’s life, then they themselves might face death.

Deng Shentong took a deep breath and exhaled a thick plume of white mist.

”Rumble!”

The train raced forward across the icy plains at high speed. No one was driving it, but the artificial intelligence system was proceeding according to the original plan, heading toward the distant Blizzard City.

Judge Lu was well aware of this.

Perhaps soon, they would run into Blizzard City’s reinforcements, because in Judge Lu’s impression, the captain of the investigation unit never acted alone.

So, the longer this dragged on, the more disadvantageous it was for him.

With that thought, he made his move decisively, raising his gun and aiming at Deng Shentong’s head as he pulled the trigger!

Deng Shentong was watching his every move. The instant Judge Lu acted, he also struck without hesitation!

If both of their guns were empty, then in close-quarters combat, Deng Shentong had the advantage!

But when the bullet left the chamber, Deng Shentong’s eyes filled with shock.

Judge Lu had indeed pulled the trigger, but no bullet came out of his gun!

A split second later.

”Pfft!” came the sound.

Judge Lu had blocked Deng Shentong’s bullet with his left arm, and the entire arm was severed by the high-energy round.

The moment he had drawn his gun, he had already made the entire plan.

Though he had lost one arm, he looked at Deng Shentong, and a smug smile curled at the corner of his lips.

Then, with one hand, he opened the magazine and spat out a silver flash of light. The last bullet hadn’t been loaded into the magazine; it had been in his mouth.

”Now I have one more bullet.”

Judge Lu looked at Deng Shentong. His left arm was crippled, but his right hand, holding the gun, was still terrifyingly steady.

”Guess what, can you block this shot?”

Deng Shentong remained silent.

On this high-speed moving train, the surface was very smooth, and the space to dodge was extremely limited.

It wasn’t hard to avoid this bullet—he just had to jump off the train car. That would do it.

But for a gunman, that was tantamount to admitting defeat.

He wasn’t Zhang Yi. He had his own pride, and it wouldn’t allow him to do that.

However, his 【Saintly Body Enhancement】 and combat suit had already taken a direct hit, and their defensive power was greatly reduced.

If his body took another bullet, as long as it hit a torso area, he would be dead for sure!

The terrifying force contained within the bullet would tear his internal organs to shreds the instant it entered his body!

Judge Lu stared at Deng Shentong, a smile on his face. ”You can still run away now!”

Deng Shentong smiled back.

”This last bullet, if you can’t kill me, you’re the one who dies!”

Judge Lu: ”Deng Shentong, you’re too confident!”

Deng Shentong: ”I bet you’ll aim for my head!”

Judge Lu sneered: ”No, I’m going to aim for your chest instead!”

As the words fell, the bullet shot out of Judge Lu’s gun with a ”Bang!”

This last bullet also contained Judge Lu’s most powerful attack, and just as he had said, it shot straight toward Deng Shentong’s chest!

Just when Judge Lu thought he had won, the silver combat suit on Deng Shentong’s body suddenly split open, and a piece of dark silver metal popped out from his chest.

”Clack! Clack!”

The dark silver metal rapidly expanded and then formed into a thin metal shield in front of him.

”Bang!”

The bullet slammed into the metal shield with tremendous force, directly caving in the adamantium-alloy shield so deeply it was almost pierced through!

A flicker of shock flashed in Judge Lu’s eyes, and at that moment, the roar of an engine suddenly sounded from the side.

Deng Shentong’s personal vehicle, the Snowland Iron Wolf, was driving side by side with the train, and it then fired a dozen missiles at Judge Lu!

At this moment, Judge Lu had just unleashed his most powerful attack and was at his weakest. Though he dodged desperately, he was still hit by the missiles and thrown violently off the train.

Standing on the train, Deng Shentong looked coldly at this former mentor, now a rebel growing farther and farther away from him.

He didn’t choose to jump off and pursue. He just pressed his right hand to his right lower abdomen, where the bullet had struck.

His internal body had already been injured. He had the combat suit inject medication into his body, then jumped to the connection between the train cars.

He wanted to see what the B-rank mission’s transport item really was.

Deng Shentong reached out and pulled hard, directly tearing open the thick alloy door.

In the corner of the train car hurtling forward, a young girl in a white down jacket huddled into a ball. Under the white brim of her hood, a pair of large, bewildered eyes looked up at him.

There was a hint of surprise in Deng Shentong’s eyes. He looked around and found nothing else there.

So, he confirmed with Blizzard City again.

”What exactly is the transport item for this B-rank mission?”

”It’s a person. A suspected Transcendent with special abilities!”
