Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Unlike the other Dissidents, these few dozen people showed no fear when they saw Blizzard City’s convoy. Instead, they were filled with excitement.

They weren’t ordinary raiders; they were the most infamous bandit gang in this region, the 【Wandering Souls】.

A powerful and cunning organization composed of Transcendents—even Blizzard City’s people found them a headache to deal with.

A heavily bearded man cast a casual glance at the convoy without joining in his companions’ laughter.

”Wandering Phantom spent so much money to hire us. I wonder what good stuff is hidden in that convoy,” he said flatly.

At the mention of Wandering Phantom, the surrounding Wandering Souls wore strange expressions on their faces.

He was a famous warlord in the surrounding area, having seized territory after the apocalypse, controlling a region with many subordinates under his command.

They had come this time because Wandering Phantom had commissioned them to plunder something very important.

A scar-faced man licked his lips and sneered, ”We get paid, we do the job! Whatever’s in there, we’ll know after we take it, won’t we?”

The bearded man wasted no more words. He pulled a black sniper rifle from his back, aimed it at the convoy three kilometers away, and pulled the trigger directly!

”Bang!”

The gunshot rang out with piercing clarity across the empty icefield!

The convoy’s bulletproof tracks actually began to twist and deform under this single strike, then their trajectory was disrupted, and the whole thing wobbled like a drunkard.

Fortunately, the driver was skilled enough, quickly regaining control of the vehicle and bringing it to a halt.

”Damn it, we’re under attack!”

The escort teams on both sides of the convoy immediately surrounded the vehicles in a protective formation.

The doors flew open, and several dozen fully-armed Yan Cloud Guards leaped out, using the vehicles for cover as they began to return fire at the Wandering Souls.

The Wandering Souls, howling with excitement, charged down from the snowy mountain!

The scar-faced man grinned viciously, pressing both hands against the snow-covered ground. In an instant, he whipped up a sky-obscuring blizzard of snow!

The snow and ice surged like a tsunami, soaring hundreds of meters into the sky and stretching for several kilometers!

Under the cover of the snow wave, the Wandering Souls rushed straight toward the convoy!

The person in charge of this Yan Cloud Guard operation was a deputy captain with an ability index as high as 9,000 points!

Seeing this scene, his brow immediately furrowed tightly.

”It’s that pack of relentless, haunting ghosts!”

He immediately ordered someone to send a distress signal to headquarters, then notified everyone to prepare for battle.

They were far too distant from Blizzard City. Even returning from here would take three days. He knew deep down that waiting for reinforcements was nearly impossible. They would have to fight their way out on their own!

The deputy captain drew a sharp straight sword made of Adamantium metal, its keen edge glinting with a bloodthirsty light.

He crouched behind the vehicle, staring fixedly at the oncoming wall of snow through the car window.

A dozen seconds later, the snow wall reached them.

”Open fire!”

His voice was calm but loud. Several dozen Yan Cloud Guards raised their black assault rifles in unison and opened fire with all their might at the snow wall!

The muzzles spat tongues of flame, loaded with special bullets designed for Transcendents. Though not the expensive Origin Bullets, they could still injure Transcendents!

Through the thick snow wall, blood sprayed out, and some Wandering Souls who had charged too recklessly were riddled with bullet holes.

But in an instant, the blizzard surged forward, swallowing them all into the chaotic melee!

The deputy captain held his breath and concentrated, sensing every presence around him.

He had named his ability 【Bloodthirsty Assault】. As an Enhancement-type Transcendent, he possessed exceptionally powerful close-combat abilities, and when the ability was activated, his five senses were heightened.

They were close now. The approach of the Wandering Souls allowed him to pierce through the blinding snow and see one human-shaped figure after another.

The deputy captain’s taut legs shot out like springs in an instant, and his straight sword lashed out in a lightning-quick horizontal slash aimed at a Transcendent’s head!

His sudden burst caught the man completely off guard. The Wandering Soul raised a dagger to block his neck, but the result was that both the man and his dagger were cleaved in half in a single stroke!

The Wandering Soul’s head flew high into the air, and his hot blood spilled onto the snow, still steaming with white vapor.

The electronic communication system crackled with a low voice in all Yan Cloud Guards’ channels.

”Everyone fight around the convoy. Their target is the cargo. Don’t let anyone near the vehicles!”

”Roger!”

The Yan Cloud Guards formed a circle around the convoy and began to hold off the Wandering Souls.

They were well-equipped, each man wearing a combat suit crafted by Deng Corporation Technology—armed to the teeth, so to speak.

But no one dared to let their guard down.

On this route, they had fought organizations like the Wandering Souls countless times.

Among the enemy, there was no shortage of powerful Transcendents, and even some former mercenaries.

Shielded by the raging blizzard, the Wandering Souls charged into close range and soon engaged in fierce hand-to-hand combat with the Yan Cloud Guards!

The deputy captain stood alone with his sword at the entrance to the convoy. His gaze was colder than the flying snow around him, and the straight sword in his hand was even more frigid.

”Puh!”

His sword movements seemed somewhat clumsy, his bodily actions barely perceptible, but every single slash killed a Wandering Soul outright.

The sharp blade glowed with a faint blue ability light, easily slicing through their combat suits and blood vessels, cleaving their bodies in two.

Suddenly, another figure approached through the blizzard.

The deputy captain’s eyes turned cold. He spun around and slashed his sword straight at him!

”Clang!”

A crisp clashing sound rang out as a massive ice spike blocked his path.

The scar-faced man’s face appeared up close, a twisted grin on his lips as he looked mockingly at the deputy captain.

”Heh!”

There was no need for excessive words between the two—a bloody battle erupted on the spot!

The scar-faced man was a frost-type ability user. His arms were covered in deep blue ice, striking at the deputy captain like two giant swords.

The deputy captain’s straight sword glowed with a faint blue light as they clashed fiercely together.

”Clang! Clang! Clang!”

Ice shards flew everywhere.

The deputy captain’s combat boots dug firmly into the thick snow as he swung his sword coldly, while the scar-faced man’s attacks were equally vicious.

He was a former mercenary with extremely formidable combat skills, every move aimed straight at the deputy captain’s vital points.

”Crack!”

With one slash, the deputy captain shattered an ice blade. He dropped his hands, gripping the straight sword as he closed in, then suddenly raised the blade high, swinging it straight at the scar-faced man’s chest!

The scar-faced man stomped the ground with both feet, leaping backward like a startled rabbit while simultaneously erupting a cluster of ice spikes from beneath him, stabbing toward the deputy captain!

”Break.”

The deputy captain acted as if they were nothing. He stomped down hard with his right combat boot, and with a ”Crack!” the cluster of ice spikes was crushed to powder!

”Shing!”

The deputy captain flashed forward, appearing in front of the scar-faced man in an instant. The speed of an Enhancement-type Transcendent was unimaginable. The scar-faced man’s right ice blade had already been destroyed, and in his haste, his reaction speed wasn’t enough to block.

He could only forcefully raise the ice blade on his left arm to parry.

That one slash was plain and unadorned, crashing down heavily onto his ice blade!

”Crack!”

A long, thick crack split open the ice-forged sword, and the scar-faced man was sent flying backward.

His expression finally changed at this moment.

”Rabid Dog, save me!”
