Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Mu Yan sat on the bed, not in a hurry to change her clothes.

Perhaps it could be said that she couldn’t change right now, after all, she wore nothing beneath her nightgown.

Zhang Yi said, ”My apologies, it’s my first time at your place, so I couldn’t find the living room. Rest assured, I didn’t see anything.”

That was the truth.

Mu Yan’s voice came over, icy cold, ”How could Zhang Yi, renowned throughout the land, be a lecherous man?”

”If you just beckoned, who knows how many women across the entire Blizzard City would be scrambling to throw themselves into your arms.”

”However,” she curled up her legs, hugging her knees with both hands, her gaze seemingly able to pierce through that layer of black veil to look at Zhang Yi, ”What matter brings you here at such a late hour?”

Zhang Yi smiled, ”Between straightforward people, let’s speak plainly. I’d like to ask for your help, to come with me to Tianhai City.”

Mu Yan slightly furrowed her brows, ”Ask for my help? You still need to ask for my help?”

She was greatly puzzled.

As a combat power urgently supplemented by the Jiangnan Region, her strength level wasn’t high; she could only utilize her special abilities as the captain of the reconnaissance unit.

Would someone as powerful as Zhang Yi need her help?

Zhang Yi said lightly, ”Every person is a screw; none are useless, they’re just not placed in the appropriate position.”

”For this matter, I need to utilize your ability.”

Mu Yan remembered the time she had asked to follow Zhang Yi and was refused, she couldn’t help but lift her chin slightly.

”That’s not what you said back then!”

The smile on Zhang Yi’s face grew even more pronounced, ”Is this what you call being tsundere?”

A faint blush actually appeared on Mu Yan’s icy-cold face.

”No!”

She said coldly.

Zhang Yi thought to himself: If there wasn’t, you wouldn’t be so quick to refute.

But he didn’t say it out loud. Women were creatures who said one thing but meant another; exposing them at such a time was the act of a fool.

”So, are you coming or not?”

He asked simply and directly.

Mu Yan thought for a moment, then suddenly asked, ”Originally, you only needed to go to Commander Zhu. If he gave the order, I would definitely go.”

”Why did you come to find me so late at night?”

Zhang Yi looked at her, ”I don’t mind owing you a favor, but I don’t want to owe Zhu Zheng a favor.”

Actually, this was also a test for Mu Yan.

The first time Mu Yan had made the request to follow Zhang Yi, he had been tempted.

But he couldn’t guarantee Mu Yan’s loyalty.

So this time, Zhang Yi wanted to see if she was willing to violate Blizzard City’s regulations for his sake.

Blizzard City was under full military management.

Without a transfer order from headquarters, no one was allowed to leave without authorization, especially powerful superhumans like those in the investigation units.

Sure enough, Mu Yan fell into deep thought.

She was also very clear about Zhang Yi’s purpose in doing this.

After a long while, she pursed her lips.

”If I leave with you, will you let me join your team?”

A constant fear lingered in her heart.

Having had the Ice Soul implanted, sooner or later, she would be absorbed by Zhu Yu, becoming nourishment.

And looking across the entire Tianhai City, only Zhang Yi could protect her safety.

Zhang Yi said lightly, ”Just this one matter isn’t enough for you to stay by my side. But it will increase your points in my book.”

”So, whether to go or not, you consider it yourself.”

Mu Yan pursed her lips; Zhang Yi’s caution made her feel disheartened.

”However,” Zhang Yi suddenly spoke up, ”Regardless of whether you can join my team or not, you’ll have helped me, and I’ll remember this favor. Then, no one in the entire Jiangnan Region will be able to touch you, not even Zhu Zheng!”

Mu Yan abruptly lifted her head; this was what she wanted most!

Without any hesitation this time, she nodded directly, ”Alright, I agree to go with you!”

A smile appeared at the corner of Zhang Yi’s mouth; everything was within his grasp.

”Then get changed first!”

He walked out the door, which made Mu Yan feel a slight sense of loss in her heart.

If there was a chance to gain Zhang Yi’s trust, she wouldn’t mind offering herself.

But clearly, Zhang Yi wouldn’t eat food of unknown origin.

Before the apocalypse, he often played battle royale games; he’d seen plenty of men suffer losses in this regard.

He couldn’t invite trouble for himself because of a momentary craving. Who knew how many sweethearts in this world had turned to darkness.

Mu Yan changed into a full set of combat suits, and then, just a few short minutes later, she followed Zhang Yi to Tianhai City.

It was late at night, and the Shelter was brightly lit.

No one had gone to sleep; instead, they were all waiting for something to happen.

After Mu Yan arrived, Zhang Yi introduced her identity to everyone.

Although everyone at home knew of this Captain Jingwei, discovering she was a young, pretty girl with a kuudere vibe still couldn’t help but make people feel somewhat wary.

Yang Xinxin glanced at her watch and said lightly, ”According to the timing, Sister Ke’er, you should be in the delivery room pushing hard right about now.”

As she said this, she glanced at Zhou Ke’er.

Zhou Ke’er was speechless. She stamped her foot and turned to walk back into the room.

Zhang Yi invited Mu Yan to sit on the sofa in the living room, and Yang Siya poured her a cup of tea.

”Next, I’d like you to do this...”

...

Late at night, it was already the depths of winter. Tianhai City saw snow almost every day, and heavy blizzards at that.

The people of Dawn Rain Base had long since entered the underground shelters, closed the heavy doors, and fallen asleep in the relatively warm environment.

But deep in the sea, undercurrents were surging.

The seawater, as dark as ink, continuously rose and fell in the storm, as if something was pushing the waves.

The waves grew higher and higher, layer upon layer rushing toward the coastline of Tianhai City.

Deep beneath the vast sea, a huge and terrifying shadow swiftly swam toward Tianhai City.

”Boom— Boom—”

From afar, the waves looked like just a dark line, but as they gradually approached the coast, they slowly became terrifying.

In the end, they directly transformed into a towering wave dozens of meters high, crushing toward the coastline of Tianhai City with overwhelming force!

The alarm at Dawn Rain Base immediately blared loudly, waking everyone up.

Lu Dahai rolled out of bed, and his subordinate reported, ”Boss, a tsunami is coming!”

Lu Dahai was dumbfounded.

The coastal areas for over ten kilometers had already been frozen over. Under such conditions, how could a tsunami easily arrive?

He shouted loudly, ”Quick, everyone assemble immediately!”

Dawn Rain Base was underground at the harbor, with excellent waterproofing. If nothing unexpected happened, it wouldn’t be affected by the tsunami.

But at a time like this, no one would joke with their lives.

And Lu Dahai himself was the first to report the situation here to Zhang Yi.

Zhang Yi sat on the sofa, drinking coffee the whole time to stay alert.

After hearing Lu Dahai’s report, he looked out the window. On the distant coastline, thunder rumbled across the sky; lightning bolts, like sharp swords, continuously struck down!

”Mountains crumble, heaven and earth merge, winter thunder rumbles, summer rain turns to snow... It’s winter now, how can there be thunder?”

Zhang Yi took a sip of hot coffee, a cautious glint flashing in his eyes.

”He’s here!”
