Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

The ugly Insect Master, the mastermind behind the Cockroach Swarm in Tianhai City, had finally appeared.

No one recognized who he was because his facial features had already lost their human appearance.

But Gao Tianwu and the others knew he was extremely dangerous.

Because around him, there were actually dozens of giant cockroaches, each two to three meters long!

These were things they had never encountered before.

Each cockroach’s carapace had a disgusting, shit-yellow sheen, with huge wings growing on its back.

Xiao Guang was somewhat stunned.

”These... these cockroaches are so big! How much kitchen waste must they have eaten!”

Gao Tianwu said in a deep voice, ”Kill them!”

The Insect Master sneered coldly, ”Hehehe, I thought it was Zhang Yi coming. Turns out it’s just some small fry. Then you can all die here and become fertilizer for my darlings!”

As soon as his words fell, the dozens of cockroaches beside him suddenly leaped up, charging towards Gao Tianwu and the others like cannonballs!

Gao Tianwu roared, clasped his hands together, and his entire body actually began to glow with a layer of golden light.

In the next instant, his body became as solemn and dignified as a Buddha statue in a temple, his skin taking on the golden hue of a Buddha’s body.

When Gao Tianwu was eight years old, his parents had once taken him to Shaoshi Mountain to worship Buddha.

At that time, a senior monk had told his parents that he was born with a connection to Buddhism. Since then, although he never entered the monastic life, he had firmly believed in Zen Buddhism.

Buddhism is a philosophy that can penetrate deep into the human heart.

The power of faith, after his ability awakened, began to draw him closer to the realm of the Buddha.

Just like his ability, [Five Guardians], which originated from the Dharma-protecting deities of Buddhism.

”Golden Light Guardian!”

Gao Tianwu, enveloped in golden light, charged head-on towards those pouncing monsters!

The brothers of the Martial Gate behind him did not slack off either, roaring as they pulled their triggers, firing at them with their rifles!

The frequency of Frog’s vertical flute playing began to increase. Although the power of [Bane of the Swarm] could not completely suppress these mutated giant cockroaches, it could still exert a certain influence, greatly restricting their mobility.

Relying on the protective Buddha light, Gao Tianwu closed in and fought the giant cockroaches hand-to-hand.

Xiao Guang was even more direct. After transforming into a car, he ”vroomed” his engine and, relying on his thick skin and toughness, rammed straight into a cockroach!

Gao Tianwu’s fist smashed into a cockroach’s body, instantly sending the over-two-meter-tall cockroach flying four or five meters away, tumbling several times in the snow.

But this creature’s defense and vitality were too strong. It quickly got back up, shook its wings, and charged at Gao Tianwu again!

Soon, he was surrounded by a large group of cockroaches.

There wasn’t a trace of fear on Gao Tianwu’s face. Since he dared to come deal with these cockroaches, he had long been prepared.

He pulled a bottle of strong liquor from his chest, drank it, then opened his mouth and spat out a surge of fierce flames.

”Maha Guardian, Prajna’s Purity Demon-Cleansing Flame!”

Insects fear fire the most; it’s their nature.

As soon as Gao Tianwu’s flames appeared, the surrounding cockroaches immediately retreated in fright.

”Big brother, I’m coming!”

Xiao Guang ”vroomed” as he emitted exhaust fumes, then charged into the battlefield.

He leaped into the air, his trunk automatically opening, and over a dozen plastic buckets fell out from inside.

The plastic buckets fell onto the hard ground, shattering with a ”crack!” The gasoline inside splashed everywhere.

Those cockroaches were inevitably splashed.

Seizing the opportunity, Gao Tianwu released flames, his right fist smashing hard into the ground. Instantly, a fire dragon rushed along the trail of gasoline straight towards those cockroaches!

”Whoosh—”

A fierce blaze suddenly erupted, enveloping a group of cockroaches, scaring them out of control.

Fear of fire was their instinct.

For a moment, the dozens of giant cockroaches actually didn’t dare attack Gao Tianwu and the others, instead choosing to evade.

This scene infuriated the Insect Master.

But after all, they were lower life forms. You couldn’t expect them to be highly reproductive, brainless, *and* possess powerful combat abilities, could you?

His gaze shifted, and he discovered the crux of the problem.

On the surface, Gao Tianwu and the others were the main combat force.

In reality, the one who had the greatest impact on the Cockroach Swarm was still that Frog!

If he could be killed, the Cockroach Swarm wouldn’t be affected, and Gao Tianwu and the others would undoubtedly die!

The Insect Master opened his mouth and emitted an insect-like chirp. Five or six giant cockroaches, upon receiving the command, immediately pounced towards Frog.

Seeing this, Frog had no choice but to stop playing his flute.

”Ribbit! Bugs trying to prey on a frog?”

Facing the attack of the giant cockroaches, he directly straightened up and charged forward.

The giant cockroach’s massive claw-blade stabbed at Frog. Frog’s snow-white belly didn’t dodge or evade, simply colliding with it.

Not only was he unharmed, but that cockroach was violently sent flying dozens of meters away!

He spat out his long tongue, whipping it like a long whip. The mucus attached to his tongue quickly glued the other giant cockroaches together, forming a cockroach ball.

”Ribbit! Frogs just don’t like fighting, but when it comes to dealing with bugs, frogs won’t lose!”

Frog patted his belly and laughed happily.

Frog was a pacifist.

But that didn’t mean he wasn’t strong!

If that were really the case, how could he have made Gao Tianwu treat him politely and offer food to build a relationship?

The Insect Master’s expression darkened at this moment.

He was already feeling that something seemed off about the situation.

But what could he do about it?

He was just an Insect Master. His ability was to control insects and drive the evolution of insect swarms.

But he himself couldn’t fight!

To cause major trouble for Tianhai City, he had chosen cockroaches as the host.

However, he hadn’t expected to encounter Frog, this natural nemesis.

”Damn you all, just die!!”

The Insect Master roared, pulled out a knife, and slowly cut open his own wrist.

He was emaciated, and the blood that flowed out was actually green!

The giant cockroaches nearby, smelling the blood, quickly gathered around.

After the Insect Master fed his blood to the cockroaches, their eyes immediately glowed with a bloody light.

”Squeak squeak—”

The cockroaches emitted fierce chirping cries.

Gao Tianwu and the others’ expressions turned grave, knowing their opponent was going all out.

”Good, come on! Let’s take you down in one go!”

Zhang Yi was never stingy with the people around him, especially those who could help him get things done.

So this time, the weapons and equipment he provided to Gao Tianwu and the others were also very ample.

Not just ordinary weapons and ammunition.

There were also flamethrowers specifically designed to deal with cockroach swarms, and specially-made grenades capable of causing large-scale damage.

These young men of the Martial Gate, fearless of death, picked up their weapons and charged forward, engaging those mutated cockroaches.

Frog sighed, ”Frog doesn’t like fighting, but these big bugs look pretty tasty. I’ll just stock up on more food for when spring comes! Ribbit!”
