Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 207: Chapter 207: The Matter is Settled! Su Qinghe: He’s a Surprisingly Good Guy~

”It wasn’t like that!”

”Grandpa Sun, what are you talking about? What do you mean I ’beat up’ the drill instructor?”

”It was a friendly spar, okay!”

Gu Yifan pouted and explained, sounding unconvinced.

”...”

’A friendly spar???’

’This little punk made the guy cough up blood, and you’re telling me it was a friendly spar!?’

Sun Lingming’s eyes went wide as he stared at him, speechless.

”Grandpa Sun, don’t look at me like that. You’re making me feel awkward!”

Gu Yifan said weakly.

”Get the hell out of here!”

Sun Lingming laughed in exasperation. He glared at Gu Yifan and snapped, ”You made the guy cough up blood, and *now* you feel awkward?!”

Gu Yifan: ”...”

”No, Grandpa Sun, I already told you, him coughing up blood had nothing to do with me. I didn’t even use any force. He was just faking it!”

Gu Yifan argued defensively, ”Besides, it’s his own fault for not being skilled enough!”

Hearing this, Sun Lingming couldn’t help but want to roll his eyes.

”Alright, alright!”

”I can’t be bothered to argue with you. Let’s just leave it at that. You don’t need to worry about it; I’ll handle it!”

Sun Lingming said, waving his hand helplessly.

’He had originally been quite happy when he learned that the national college entrance exam champion was his old friend’s grandson—and only the second champion in history to get a perfect raw score!’

’He’d thought Gu Yifan coming to Jinda University would be a good thing. With his old friend’s grandson here, he could look out for him a bit. But he never expected this fellow to cause such a huge incident just a few days after arriving. At this point, he was at a loss for words.’

’If it weren’t for Sisi’s sake (Gu Yifan’s grandmother), he really wanted to teach this little rascal a good lesson!’

”And another thing, you’d better behave yourself from now on!”

”If this happens again, even I won’t be able to save you!”

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got, and he snapped at Gu Yifan.

”Oh, okay.”

”Louder! Have you not eaten today?!”

Sun Lingming said, his face dark.

”Er...”

Seeing this, how could Gu Yifan dare say anything more? He just nodded obediently and said, ”I understand.”

”You little brat, just looking at you makes me angry!”

Sun Lingming glared at him, then said, ”Alright, you can get lost now!”

Hearing this, Gu Yifan grinned. ”Alrighty then~”

”Well, Grandpa Sun, this was all a bit rushed. I didn’t expect us to meet like this. After military training is over in a couple of days, I’ll come over to your house to formally visit you!”

Hearing this, Sun Lingming finally felt a little better.

’At least the kid knows some manners.’ Sun Lingming’s expression softened slightly. He waved his hand and said, ”Alright, I get it! Go on and do your own thing!”

”Okay!”

”Goodbye then, Grandpa Sun!”

Gu Yifan didn’t linger. After speaking, he stood up and left.

”...”

Watching Gu Yifan’s departing figure, Sun Lingming shook his head helplessly.

’This perfect-score national champion is not what I imagined at all!’

’However, he could tell that Gu Yifan’s character wasn’t bad. Hmm... he’s just a bit of a handful. Yes, that’s it, a handful!’

’At his age, having met countless people, he, Sun Lingming, was still a good judge of character!’

Sigh~

’Oh well, for Sisi’s sake, I’ll have to find some time to set him straight!’

’At the very least, I have to guide him to establish the right values and keep him from going astray!’

Sun Lingming sighed softly, thinking to himself.

”Hm?”

As he retracted his gaze, Sun Lingming suddenly noticed something wasn’t right!

?????

’Where’s the tin of Pu’er from the thousand-year-old tree that was on my desk!?’

He suddenly remembered that when Gu Yifan left just now, he had been slightly stooped over...

”...”

After a long moment of silence, Sun Lingming shook his head helplessly, his face full of heartache. ”That little rascal... my aged, ancient tea!”

...

「Meanwhile.」

Under the shade of a tree not far from the office building, Su Qinghe was anxiously peering toward the entrance of the building.

”DING~”

The elevator doors opened, and Gu Yifan walked out, holding a small metal tin.

That’s right!

You guessed it!

The small metal tin in his hand was the very same tea he had just swiped from Old Sun!

’I had a few cups earlier and realized this tea was pretty good, so I decided to take it with me when I left. It’s just one tin, after all. Hmm... Old Sun wouldn’t be that petty, right?’

Gu Yifan thought shamelessly.

He had just popped his head around the corner when Su Qinghe, not far away, spotted him.

Her eyes lit up, and she hurriedly jogged over to Gu Yifan.

Gu Yifan was lost in thought when Su Qinghe suddenly appeared in front of him.

”Uh...”

He froze for a second, then frowned and said, ”Su Hanhan, the sun is blazing. What are you doing running over here?”

”I...”

Su Qinghe was about to say something, but Gu Yifan cut her off.

”Come on, come on, let’s get in the car first!”

Gu Yifan took her small hand and quickly walked toward his black G-Wagon parked in the shade.

”BANG~!”

The car door shut, and Gu Yifan cranked the AC to its lowest temperature. The inside of the car instantly cooled down.

After doing all this, he finally turned to Su Qinghe and asked, ”Why didn’t you listen and just wait for me in the car?”

”I... I couldn’t sit still. I was worried about you.”

Su Qinghe explained in a small voice.

”Didn’t I tell you it was nothing?”

Hearing this, Gu Yifan shook his head helplessly. ”Silly Hanhan!”

”Alright, it’s all been resolved. Don’t worry!”

When she didn’t say anything, Gu Yifan added in a soft voice.

”Hm?”

At his words, Su Qinghe’s eyes lit up. She raised her head to look at Gu Yifan, her eyes asking, ’Really?’

”Really!”

Gu Yifan nodded. ”Principal Sun helped take care of it.”

”Principal Sun?”

Su Qinghe was a little surprised.

”Yep!”

”He’s the one I mentioned last time, my grandma’s childhood friend.”

”He’s the vice principal here at our school. Grandma said that if we ever run into any trouble at Jinda University, we can go find him.”

Gu Yifan explained.

”Oh, right.”

Su Qinghe remembered now. Gu Yifan had indeed mentioned this to her before.

”Yeah... Old Sun is a pretty good guy. See? Before I left, he even very enthusiastically gave me a tin of tea!”

Gu Yifan said casually, pointing to the small metal tin beside him.

Su Qinghe glanced at the small metal tin, which looked quite old. Without suspecting a thing, she nodded lightly and said, ”Principal Sun seems really nice!”

”Mhm!”

Gu Yifan smiled slightly and nodded. ”He certainly is!”

”ACHOO~!”

At the same time, in the principal’s office, Sun Lingming couldn’t help but sneeze.

”Why would I suddenly sneeze on such a hot day?”

He muttered to himself.
