Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Gu Yifan: I’ve never seen a request this despicable

”Heh, quite the lively scene!”

...

The sudden voice made everyone present freeze for a moment.

They subconsciously turned their heads toward the sound and saw that Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe had, at some point, walked up beside them.

The moment they saw Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe, Chu Xiaomeng and the other girls’ eyes lit up!

”Baijie, Xiaomeng, Sisi... Hello, beautiful ladies!”

Gu Yifan said with a smile, greeting the group.

”Hey, Handsome Gu!”

The girls all nodded in response.

”That guy is so handsome!”

”Yeah!”

”I could tell he was handsome from a distance, but I didn’t expect him to be even more handsome up close!”

”Exactly, no wonder Su School Beauty turned down Qingbei University for him.”

”For real. If I had to choose between Qingbei and a handsome guy like that, I’d probably make the same choice as Classmate Su!”

...

A group of nearby girls pointed at Gu Yifan and whispered among themselves.

Although their voices were low, Gu Yifan could make out the gist of it.

Seeing that the atmosphere was a bit off, Gu Yifan turned to Bao Baijie and asked, ”Um, Classmate Bao, what’s...?”

Bao Baijie heard Gu Yifan address her and was just about to figure out how to explain what happened when Chu Xiaomeng, who was standing beside her, couldn’t wait and spoke up.

She said, a little angrily, ”Prince Charming, Shi Meijuan was just badmouthing you and Qinghe. We couldn’t stand it, so we started arguing with her!”

”Hm?”

Hearing this, Gu Yifan first paused for a second, then his brows furrowed slightly.

He turned to Chu Xiaomeng and asked, ”Xiaomeng, what happened?”

”Er...”

Chu Xiaomeng gathered her thoughts before explaining, ”It’s just that Shi Meijuan and her friends were jealous that Qinghe was ranked first for school beauty. They started intentionally badmouthing her, saying she was love-struck for giving up Qingbei University to come to Jinling University for you. They also mentioned the stuff on the forum about Qinghe being so tormented by love in high school that she tried to jump off a building!”

”So we got angry and started arguing with them.”

...

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Her little face flushed red as she huffed and added, ”That Shi Meijuan is the worst! She was spreading rumors about Qinghe in the dorms too. And to think Qinghe even gave her a free bottle of water before. She’s just awful!”

Hearing this, Shi Meijuan, who was standing nearby, couldn’t take it anymore!

She jumped out with a disdainful look and said, ”Hey, Chu Xiaomeng, watch your mouth! When did I ever drink her water? I didn’t drink that water last time, so don’t you dare try to pin that on me!”

At this point, Gu Yifan glanced at the girl named Shi Meijuan. He pretty much understood what was going on.

When Shi Meijuan saw Gu Yifan looking at her, she glared right back without hesitation. ”What are you looking at? I didn’t say anything bad about you. I was just repeating what was written on the school forum!”

”That’s what it said! It has nothing to do with me!”

By now, the commotion had attracted the attention of the surrounding classes. Since military training hadn’t officially started, many people gathered around, eager to watch the drama unfold.

”Heh~”

Gu Yifan let out a laugh of pure anger and slowly walked forward.

Seeing Gu Yifan walk right up to her, Shi Meijuan grew nervous but still put on a brave front. ”What now? You want to hit me or something?!”

”Go on!”

”If you’ve got the guts, try and lay a single finger on me!”

Hearing this, Gu Yifan’s expression turned cold. ”That’s the most pathetic request I’ve ever heard,” he said icily.

Just then, he felt a sudden tug on his sleeve.

He paused slightly and turned to see that Su Qinghe had come up behind him at some point.

”What’s wrong?”

Gu Yifan’s expression softened as he spoke in a low voice.

Su Qinghe kept her head down and didn’t speak, simply tugging his sleeve and shaking her head gently.

Gu Yifan understood what she meant. He reached out, stroked her face, and said softly, ”It’s okay. I’m here. Don’t worry.”

Su Qinghe slowly raised her head to look at Gu Yifan, her eyes slightly red. She pressed her lips together, saying nothing, and just shook her head gently again.

Seeing this, Gu Yifan’s heart ached.

Bao Baijie and the others reacted at that moment, rushing to Gu Yifan’s side. ”Classmate Gu, don’t be rash!”

”Hey~!”

”What are you all doing?”

Suddenly, a loud shout came from nearby.

A few drill instructors had walked over at some point. Seeing that something was wrong, they scowled and yelled, ”What are you all crowded around here for?

”Don’t you have military training to do? Get back to your class formations, now!”

Seeing the instructors were angry, the crowd of onlookers quickly scattered!

Meanwhile, when Shi Meijuan saw the instructors arrive, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief. ’The look Gu Yifan had given her just now had been truly terrifying!’

’If the instructors hadn’t come, he probably would have actually hit me.’

”Instructor, he hit me!”

Shi Meijuan’s eyes darted. She quickly ran to her instructor’s side, playing the victim.

Hearing this, Bao Baijie and the others all stared wide-eyed at her in disbelief!

”Hey!”

”Shi Meijuan, have you no shame?!”

”When did Classmate Gu ever hit you?!”

Chu Xiaomeng couldn’t stand this, her face flushing red with anger.

The instructor glanced at Shi Meijuan and saw that she didn’t look like she’d been hit. He then walked up to Gu Yifan and said with a frown, ”What class are you in? Why aren’t you with your formation? What are you doing here?”

Hearing the instructor, Gu Yifan shot him a glance but didn’t speak. Instead, he turned to Shi Meijuan with a calm expression and said, ”Shi Meijuan, right? I’ll remember you.”

After speaking, he turned to Su Qinghe and said softly, ”Su Hanhan, let’s go. We’re going home.”

Su Qinghe froze for a second.

”Mm-hm~”

She looked up at Gu Yifan, saw his eyes were full of tenderness and that he wasn’t joking, and so she nodded gently.

Gu Yifan smiled slightly, then took her hand and walked straight out of the formation.

Meanwhile, Su Qinghe’s class instructor, Chen Pingping, saw Gu Yifan completely ignore him. His already tan face turned even darker!

”Stop!”

he yelled at Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe’s retreating backs.

Gu Yifan’s steps paused for a moment. He turned his head and looked at the instructor, his face expressionless. ”Is there a problem?”

Seeing his cocky attitude, Chen Pingping’s expression grew even colder.

His face was grim as he said, ”What’s your name, and what class are you in?”

”Oh.”

”Gu Yifan, Financial Management, Class One.”

Gu Yifan answered casually.

With that, he paid the instructor no more mind, turning and leading Su Qinghe away.

Chen Pingping: ”...”

Seeing Gu Yifan’s attitude, he was about to explode with rage!

He strode forward, grabbed Gu Yifan’s shoulder, and yelled, ”Hold it!

”Did I say you could leave?!”
