The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1192: Chapter 1192: A Little Horn (Part 46)

That night, Her Highness the Eldest Princess fell asleep, but the Little Princess couldn’t sleep for a long time.

Her Royal Highness the Little Princess was deeply worried about her sister’s future and felt sad that her sister and Bai Yu couldn’t be together.

Perhaps she had read too many scripted scenarios; Her Royal Highness the Little Princess was a person of great emotional depth who couldn’t bear imperfect endings.

Early the next morning, Her Royal Highness the Little Princess dragged Xiao Yao to the small woods.

Xiao Yao’s ears turned red, thinking they were going to sneak a kiss again when no one was looking.

Instead, his approaching lips were covered by a small hand. The Little Princess put on a stern face and said seriously, ”We need to talk about serious matters, don’t mess around!”

Xiao Yao: ”...” But which time have we gone to the small woods to discuss serious matters?

Facing Xiao Yao’s resentful gaze, the Little Princess said solemnly, ”It’s about my sister and your young master!”

Upon hearing it related to his young master, Xiao Yao stood up straight, put away his resentment and ardor, and became serious.

The Little Princess: ”My sister isn’t indifferent to Bai Yu, she’s just worried he might be harmed by the Heir of Marquis of Zhennan, so she keeps her distance.”

Xiao Yao said excitedly, ”Such good news, I must tell my young master!”

As he pulled her hand and ran down the mountain, the Little Princess was surprised: ”Hasn’t Bai Yu returned to the capital? By my calculations, he should have arrived by now!”

”No, he returned long ago and is temporarily staying at a merchant’s house.”

”A merchant?”

Xiao Yao explained, ”It’s the house of the fiancé of the little palace maid who is beside Her Highness the Eldest Princess.”

The Little Princess blinked: ”How come my sister didn’t know?”

Xiao Yao laughed, ”The little palace maid didn’t know, so naturally Her Highness the Eldest Princess didn’t know as well. Both of them are people with tough lives, quite the common ground to talk about.”

The Little Princess was curious: ”Both have tough lives?”

Xiao Yao: ”The little palace maid of Her Highness the Eldest Princess is also a steadfast person; as long as Her Highness the Eldest Princess isn’t married, she won’t get married either. Just like Her Highness the Eldest Princess, unless the Heir of Marquis of Zhennan dies, she probably won’t be with my young master.”

The Little Princess felt a bit of sympathy for that merchant, considering her sister thought of staying in the Border Town her entire life, never marrying, so that little palace maid wouldn’t marry, and her fiancé would probably never be able to become legitimate.

...

In broad daylight, two adult men eating peanuts, drinking wine, and playing chess, with a lazy, laid-back posture.

Xiao Yao covered the Little Princess’s eyes: ”Don’t look.”

”What’s going on with you two, get up quickly, it’s too eye-popping!” Xiao Yao thought his young master’s face, flushed from drinking, was rather enticing but surely couldn’t let the Little Princess see it.

The Little Princess obediently nodded: ”I won’t look.”

Seeing that there were female guests again, the two men quickly sat up straight, drank a cup of tea to refresh themselves, and put away the cups of wine.

Bai Yu washed his face with cold water to sober up completely.

Xiao Yao let go of the hand covering the Little Princess’s eyes, ”You can look now.”

The Little Princess glanced over, and the two who had been sitting lazily were now sitting upright, drinking tea, and seemed very sober.

The merchant invited them to sit down, and Xiao Yao, holding the Little Princess’s hand, sat down beside her.

The merchant looked on enviously: ”It’s your luck, young man.”

Xiao Yao smiled wryly: ”Without enough military achievements, I fear I wouldn’t be able to marry the princess, and can only have this brief happiness now.”

The three exchanged glances, their eyes filled with the bitterness of mutually understanding each other’s struggles.

The merchant, bearing the title of fiancé for a long time, yet unable to marry his beloved, with no end in sight, and no hope.

Bai Yu, pursuing for six months without any progress, yet got driven away, feeling painful but unwilling to give up, and not knowing where to start again, and no hope.

Xiao Yao was finding joy in hardship, indulging in the days where he could spend every day with the Little Princess, but like them, seeing nothing hopeful for the future.

Xiao Yao took a sip of tea: ”Perhaps, our hopes have arrived.”

Upon hearing this, the other two’s eyes lit up, staring intently at him.

Xiao Yao: ”Her Highness the Eldest Princess seems to be fond, but has concerns, so she is holding back.”
