The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Capítulo 1156: Chapter 1156: A Little Horn (Part 10)

The three of them didn’t take it seriously. Now that General Zhentian had no weapon in hand and his horse couldn’t run as fast as theirs, there was no way he could catch up with them.

General Zhentian took out a horn and blew it, while on the city wall, Lady Wan drew her bowstring.

Wan Nian, being the daughter of a hunter, had played with bows and arrows since childhood. She could shoot a hundred steps with precision, and with this fine bow and her great strength, she shot three arrows at three people. Although they weren’t instantly fatal, they caused the three to fall off their horses, buying time for General Zhentian to catch up with them.

General Zhentian caught up with the Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert and the Xiongnu General, both of whom fell to the ground, struck by arrows, looking extremely wretched.

The Xiongnu General made a quick decision, breaking the arrow shaft forcefully, and stood up with a broadsword in hand, roaring at General Zhentian like a beast before charging forward.

He couldn’t believe that, with a broadsword in hand, he couldn’t handle a weakling without a weapon!

The Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert raised the scimitar in his hand and shouted, “I’ll lend you a hand!”

The two of them thought that together they could drive back General Zhentian, who was unarmed.

General Zhentian stood in place, and because of the mask on his face, no one could see the pity and coldness on the stunning face beneath it.

She stretched out her hands, and they were encased in Gold-threaded Soft Armor gloves.

Both hands simultaneously caught the swords of the Xiongnu General and the Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert, producing a resounding clang of metal.

The Xiongnu General released his grip and backed away repeatedly in terror.

The Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert fell to the ground, incredulously staring at the broken blade on the ground.

Even though the two of them had seen General Zhentian wearing gloves, they hadn’t minded. Now, seeing General Zhentian actually grab and break the broadsword, both were stunned.

The Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert felt his legs go weak, as if filled with lead, unable to stand at all.

The Xiongnu General took a deep breath and turned to flee.

“Still trying to run?” General Zhentian sneered, and with a flick of his toe, kicked the broken blade up into the air.

Though the blade was broken, it remained sharp.

The broken blade flew out like an arrow from a bow, making a whizzing sound.

As the Xiongnu General heard the rapidly approaching whizzing sound, he turned his head for a glance and was scared out of his wits, shouting repeatedly for mercy, “Spare me!”

“Thud!” The blade sunk into his flesh, and blood splattered.

The Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert, who was slumped on the ground, dared not flee. Seeing the Xiongnu General die with eyes wide open, he pleaded desperately, “The Northern Desert is weak and isolated. They allied; we couldn’t afford not to participate…”

“No need to explain.” General Zhentian pinched his throat, making him unable to speak.

“As a Princess, I never look at the process, only the result. The result is that you participated in the alliance and violated the borders of Great Xia, so prepare for the wrath of Great Xia to fall upon the Northern Desert.” These words were light, like a desert breeze, not spreading but sufficient to reach the ears of the Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert.

The Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert stared in horror.

Before dying, he doubted his ears.

What did he hear?

“The Princess”? Who would refer to themselves in such a way?

In Great Xia, there were only two princesses, one being an eight-year-old child, and the other… was the one they took lightly, planning to deceive out of Great Xia under the guise of marriage diplomacy. She was then to be kidnapped en route and humiliated at will—Her Highness the Eldest Princess of Great Xia!

On the day of the Foreign Alliance, they had already eyed the fertile lands of Great Xia with greed, never truly intending for peace through marriage. Yet, they spurred the Third Prince of Rouran to propose marriage diplomacy, not to truly bind Rouran and Great Xia together, but to humiliate Great Xia.

When Great Xia humiliatingly agreed to the marriage, when Her Royal Highness Princess, the valuable daughter of Great Xia, was to be married off to Rouran, the journey was fraught with peril. Ambushes were long since set up; by then, several lecherous princes in the alliance intended to disguise as bandits, abducting Her Royal Highness and disgracing her to death, leaving her corpse in the wilderness.

When Rouran received no bride, learning that she was abducted on Great Xia’s land, they would waged war in fury. At that point, it would depend on whether Great Xia would open its gates to allow Rouran’s soldiers to enter their realm. If not, it would spark an initial conflict; if they did, all the more interesting—Rouran soldiers who entered Great Xia would loot, burn, and kill, and it would be for the Emperor of Great Xia to regret opening the gates!

A scheme one link after another, yet unable to be executed, only because, unexpectedly, Great Xia killed the envoy and dispatched an unseen General Zhentian to lead the campaign.

“Are you… the Princess of Great Xia?” He struggled to ask in the moments before death.

General Zhentian sneered. “You know too much.” As the words fell, with a “crack,” the neck of the Seventh Prince of the Northern Desert snapped.
