The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1187: Chapter 1187: A Little Horn (Part 41)

The day after Bai Yu left, Her Highness the Eldest Princess felt the camp was unusually quiet. It seemed she had gotten used to that person’s noisiness, and the sudden peace made her uncomfortable instead.

The Little Princess and Xiao Yao were still affectionate with each other, often climbing the mountains to pick flowers and hiding in the groves to be intimate.

One day, the Little Princess got several mosquito bites, and, coincidentally, they were all on her face.

The Little Princess used a veil to cover her face, but the wind blew it up, revealing her face again, so she felt it was not secure and borrowed a mask from her sister.

Her Highness the Eldest Princess had prepared many Taotie Masks for her to use as she pleased.

The Little Princess wore the mask to intentionally scare Xiao Yao, and she really fooled him.

Upon learning it was the Little Princess, Xiao Yao complained, ”My Princess, I thought it was the Eldest Princess and was almost scared to death.”

”Is my sister that frightening?” The Little Princess tilted her head.

Xiao Yao thought for a moment, ”Not frightening, just very dignified, making her not easily approachable.”

The Little Princess pursed her lips, ”My sister didn’t used to be like this, she was very gentle. When did she start to change...” The Little Princess sighed lightly, ”It seems it started when her first fiancé died unexpectedly. My sister began to speak less, and as one after another passed away, she talked even less.”

Xiao Yao frowned, ”You can’t blame Her Highness the Eldest Princess for that.”

”You can’t blame my sister, but she inevitably feels guilty,” the Little Princess rolled her eyes and lowered her voice, ”Do you think there’s a possibility my sister is worried something will happen to your young master, so she’s intentionally restraining her emotions?”

Xiao Yao seemed pensive.

The Little Princess said, ”Think about it, your young master is handsome, and my sister likes good looks. There’s no reason she wouldn’t like him.”

Xiao Yao sighed, ”Actually, the Old Prince didn’t want the young master to be with the Eldest Princess either, having similar concerns. After all, the previous five all died, none survived.”

”I’ve always thought it was very strange,” the Little Princess suddenly remarked.

Xiao Yao squinted, ”Strange?”

”My sister’s first fiancé drowned, and shortly after, his family was executed and exterminated,” the Little Princess tapped Xiao Yao’s forehead, ”As someone who writes stories, don’t you find it strange?”

As someone who writes stories, one tends to overthink. Now, listening to the Little Princess, he delved deeper into thought.

If they knew beforehand there would be extermination, would they fake their death to escape? If someone cherished Her Highness the Eldest Princess and saw her as theirs, would they eliminate anyone competing with them?

Xiao Yao had a bold guess, ”If he were alive, the next four fiancés of Her Highness the Eldest Princess might have died by his hand.”

The Little Princess looked around, leaned closer to Xiao Yao, and whispered to his ear, ”I’ve always thought my sister doesn’t return to the Imperial City because she’s guessed something.”

Xiao Yao said, ”Why don’t we talk to the Eldest Princess?”

The Little Princess hesitated, ”But this is all just my speculation...”

Xiao Yao said, ”What you can think of, others might too, like Her Highness the Eldest Princess.”

Eventually, the Little Princess nodded and agreed.

...

Her Highness the Eldest Princess stared blankly at the inkstone on the table, remembering how that persistent fellow would have already come over to help her grind ink, chatting about various topics as he worked, his mouth never seemed to stop.

By now, that person should be nearing the Imperial City, right?

”Sister?” A small head poked in, calling softly.

”Yanyan, do you need something?”

”Yes, sister, are you busy?”

”It’s fine, you can come in.”

Her Royal Highness the Little Princess waved her hand, and Xiao Yao followed her in.

The Little Princess lowered her voice, ”Sister, could you ask the people outside to move farther away? I have something important to tell you.”

Her Highness the Eldest Princess nodded and asked the people outside to move ten meters away.
