The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 299: Chapter 299: Hua Jinyan bursts into laughter Chapter 299: Chapter 299: Hua Jinyan bursts into laughter Little Taotie had just woken up and, out of habit, said good morning to her livestream fans before heading downstairs.

As soon as she reached the bottom of the stairs, she was encircled by Grandma Liu and Grandpa Liu!

Little Taotie was still groggy from sleep, her cheeks flushed, the corners of her eyes red, looking bewildered.

Hua Jinyan rescued Little Taotie and, taking her small hand, ran off.

Grandma Liu and Grandpa Liu didn’t chase after them but simply watched with smiles as the two held hands tightly together.

Hua Jinyan brought Little Taotie to his own room before he finally relaxed.

Little Taotie, now a bit more alert, tilted her head and asked, “Are they your grandparents?”

Hua Jinyan’s face wore a bitter expression as he replied, “Yes, they are.”

Little Taotie blinked admiringly, “Then you are truly fortunate; they seem so kind.”

Hua Jinyan was taken aback and his eyes spelled out: Are you sure?

Little Taotie nodded and gestured Hua Jinyan to come closer, so Hua Jinyan leaned in with his ear.

Little Taotie shared her little secret with him, “Your grandmother has beautiful and gentle lilies blooming from her head, and your grandfather has sunflowers that swing madly as if dancing!”

Hua Jinyan: “…”

He imagined his grandfather’s face, which resembled a comedian when he smiled, topped with blooming sunflowers all vigorously swaying…

“Pfft!” Hua Jinyan couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing.

When he laughed, his eyes became deep, his teeth stark white, his lips curled upwards, and the corners of his eyes lifted slightly, raising the apple of his cheeks, revealing a surprisingly sweet smile.

Usually an ice-faced man, when he laughed, he looked like a sweet little apple.

Little Taotie stared at him for a while and asked, “Are you laughing because you don’t believe what I said?”

Hua Jinyan hastened to explain, “It’s not that I don’t believe you. I believe every word you say! I just can’t imagine my grandfather with sunflowers blooming from his head, those sunflowers dancing, that’s all!”

Little Taotie breathed a sigh of relief, worried that her shared secret might be taken as a lie.

Little Taotie giggled, “Those sunflowers were crazily nodding their heads, like they were dancing the headbang!”

Hua Jinyan couldn’t help himself and laughed out loud again.

Grandma Liu and Grandpa Liu could hear the laughter coming from inside the room, recognizing their little grandson’s laugh, and both old folks were amazed.

Although they didn’t know what made the children laugh, making their little grandson laugh out loud was no simple matter.

Grandma Liu said, “So that’s what his laughter sounds like, quite nice indeed.”

Grandpa Liu added, “I’ve never heard him laugh out loud before. Honestly, I really thought he was a straight-faced kid.”

Grandma Liu’s hands twitched uncontrollably and pinched Grandpa Liu’s waist.

Grandpa Liu hurriedly begged for mercy, “Wife, I was wrong! Really, I was! I’m just worried about him, you know. With my face, I’ve been mistaken for Guo Degang by so many people, everyone thinks I’m a comedian! Who would have thought, my little grandson wouldn’t even crack a smile! If only he were like me, so cheery!”

“Shut up, you!” Grandma Liu couldn’t even bring herself to look at him and rolled her eyes, thinking to herself: If the little grandson looked like him, his life would be ruined!

Grandma Liu and Grandpa Liu had an arranged marriage back in the day, and if it were up to modern-day love, Grandma Liu thought she definitely wouldn’t have chosen this annoying old man! Too much drama!

In the room, Hua Jinyan stopped laughing and sighed, “My grandparents didn’t frighten you, did they?”

“No, they don’t look frightening,” Little Taotie said, her eyes glued to the models in Hua Jinyan’s room.

It was a model of a large ship.
