The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 297: Chapter 297: You Actually Have Friends Chapter 297: Chapter 297: You Actually Have Friends Just as Little Taotie guessed, Grandpa Liu was now pretending to be ill.

He got the idea from Grandpa Hua who, having successfully met his beloved grandson after feigning illness, decided to follow suit and put on an act.

Indeed, his grandson had come to visit him!

Grandpa Liu lay in bed, groaning and moaning as if he was on his deathbed.

At first, Hua Jinyan believed him, until he saw his pale-faced grandpa with flaking, caked skin and he became suspicious.

With a face as stern as a slab of ice, the little boy cast a cold glance at Grandpa Liu and pressed him in a deep voice, “Grandpa, what illness have you come down with?”

“Ouch, ouch, it’s just old age, a bunch of old ailments flaring up all at once, they’re going to be the end of me!” Grandpa Liu sneakily watched his grandson’s expression, thinking to himself: My daughter was lively and cute when she was young, so why is my little grandson so aloof?

“What specific illness do you have? You need to see a doctor and take medicine; if it’s serious, you should have surgery.”

At the words “have surgery,” Grandpa Liu shuddered and coughed dryly, “It’s nothing serious, just some common problems like toothache, back pain, high blood pressure…”

Hua Jinyan watched him expressionlessly, and Grandpa Liu’s voice grew fainter and fainter.

Grandpa Liu grumbled to himself: Not only is this grandson aloof, but his eyes are fierce too. This won’t do; he won’t be able to find a daughter-in-law in the future! What woman would want to face this icy expression every day? Any fiery heart would freeze over and shatter into pieces.

Grandpa Liu was already concerned about his seven-year-old grandson’s future prospects in finding a wife, thinking that he needed to reform his little grandson.

Just look at his grandson’s black suit.

A seven-year-old boy should wear bright colors, not look so lifeless!

Grandma Liu came in with a bowl of medicine that emitted a strange odor. Smelling the soup that was like stinky feet, Grandpa Liu could barely maintain his composure as he looked at Grandma Liu questioningly, “Wife, what are you doing?”

Grandma Liu smiled, “This is a tonic that Jinyan brought over. He said you’ll get better after drinking it.”

Grandpa Liu looked at his grandson in resignation, “Is what your grandma says true? Is this concoction your doing?”

Hua Jinyan nodded, replying earnestly, “It’s a special treatment for toothache, back pain, high blood pressure…”

Grandpa Liu felt that even if he didn’t have high blood pressure, he was about to develop it!

Drinking this soup, he could probably be sent straight to the afterlife!

Heaven would open its gates for him!

Grandpa Liu covered his forehead, his temples throbbing, “I can’t take it anymore!”

Hua Jinyan said, “Grandpa, if you’re not going to make it, you should drink it even more, you’ll get better after drinking it.”

“I suspect you’re in a hurry to inherit my estate,” Grandpa Liu covered his mouth, refusing to drink.

Unable to hold back her laughter, Grandma Liu put the bowl on the bedside table and gave Grandpa Liu’s belly a firm pat, “Alright, quit your acting. The little one has seen through it, he purposely brought over this medicine to mess with you!”

Disbelieving, Grandpa Liu dropped his hand from his mouth, “How could that be possible? I clearly did a better job than Old Man Hua! I’m an artiste; I’ve been groaning for so long!”

Hua Jinyan scraped a layer of powder off Grandpa Liu’s face, “Your makeup is too thick, it even caked.”

Grandpa Liu looked at Grandma Liu with reproach, “I told you not to put on makeup, there was no need for makeup! Look, the one big oversight, and now we’re exposed!”

Hua Jinyan wiped the powder off his hand, helplessly saying, “Grandpa, you shouldn’t always copy my grandpa.”

“I’m not copying him,” Grandpa Liu said with less conviction, somewhat sheepishly, “I just missed you. You went abroad to see him, why not visit me? I’m right here in the country; I’m not asking you to go abroad.”

Seeing the old man’s mix of longing and annoyance, Hua Jinyan relented, “I’ll come to visit you more often in the future.”

“What have you been busy with? Last time I went to see you, your mom said you were busy and not at home. When I went to find you at your dad’s production set, your dad said you weren’t busy there either. Later, I went to Shaolin Temple, and the temple said you hadn’t been back for a long time.”

Grandma Liu slapped Grandpa Liu’s belly, “Why are you meddling so much! You went behind my back to see our daughter! You even harassed my son-in-law at the set! And you bothered the monks at Shaolin Temple! You sure have learned some tricks!”

Seeking help, Grandpa Liu turned desperate eyes to Hua Jinyan, who sighed and had no choice but to help him, “I’m staying at a friend’s place, we study together, and a teacher comes over to give us lessons every day.”

“At a friend’s place? You have friends?” Grandpa Liu sounded as if he had heard something incredible. His grandson, with an icy face and an almost autistic demeanor, had actually made friends? Who was the kind soul willing to befriend him?
