Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

The fresh young model, as enticing as a freshly picked peach from the branch, wrapped her arm around his firm forearm with a youthful and lovely smile. As the most beautiful and outstanding model of M.C this year, it was only natural that she gained the boss’s favor, wasn’t it? She was indeed too lucky; this man was Joshua Hughes. As she secretly smiled to herself while gazing at his handsome features, their association had only led to her making two appearances, yet her advertisement fees had multiplied several times, and no one dared to offend her at the company anymore.

”Joshua, after you accompany me to the ribbon-cutting at noon, I want to go to Grant’s to pick out a necklace to wear for the banquet we’re attending tonight. I heard that Beckett Wright has designed a new set of jewelry for Grant’s, and it’s unbelievably beautiful. It’s currently being showcased in their flagship store.” The young model’s voice was delicate and sweet, perfectly suited for coquettishness, and few normal men would refuse.

A captivating smile adorned his handsome face, and no one could discern what he was truly thinking, but the smile itself was taken as agreement.

Hughes Clan Tower

In the conference room, all the major shareholders were present except for Joshua Hughes.

”What’s going on, what is this? Ignoring the chosen one from the family but playing with a starlet every day, what about the matters of the Hughes Clan? What does he plan to do.......”

”The current Joshua is not what he used to be. Even in the past when he played, he did so with moderation. Now he doesn’t even attend the shareholders’ meeting because of a woman.......”

”I’m telling you, change the person. If it’s really not working, then change him. We must do it before the Hughes Clan faces greater problems; we’re already at a thirty percent loss, and if we continue, something big will definitely happen.....”

”Change the person; everyone’s votes need to be decided. To whom should we entrust them......”

”Luis, where is Madam Hughes’s five percent? Why isn’t it in your hands yet? Isn’t she the one who dotes on you the most.......”

The furious participants in the conference room turned off the TV. The person who should have been at the board meeting could only be seen on TV. Joshua Hughes had recently fallen for a young model who was skyrocketing to fame at rocket speed, and he paid little attention to company affairs. It seems their past worries about Avery Jane were misplaced; men love fresh things. The previous woman was of no use after just a year, and now he fancies someone new. Moreover, he’s becoming more absurd for women. Besides his current reckless behavior, where is the previous demeanor?

Now they could only hold an election, or perhaps the old rules no longer applied. They must elect a new person to manage the vast wealth of the Hughes Clan.

:”Everyone, calculate carefully, do we have enough combined with the Second Young Master’s shares to make it happen?”

:”Second Young Master, you must ask Madam Hughes today about the decision for her five percent. Who is she going to vote for?”

The board members privately calculated among themselves, seeking the maximum assurance and win. Joshua Hughes is no longer the Joshua Hughes of the past. He has become too entangled in a woman’s web to step out as steadfastly and powerfully as he did before. He has stopped, but the Hughes Clan ship cannot. Replacing him is the last option.

Within the hotel, storms of passion raged.

”Time’s up, go change clothes.” The man’s deep voice was seductive and pleasant. She weakly and feebly untied the silk scarf from her eyes, her vision temporarily unable to adapt, as she blinked once.

Joshua Hughes was already dressed neatly, standing as if the passionate moments just now hadn’t happened.

”Joshua, I’m still a bit tired.......” Her eyes lingered on Joshua Hughes. She didn’t understand why he had a habit of blindfolding her during their time in bed.

”Hurry up.” His tone suddenly turned cold and impatient, as though he were a different person compared to the man who had just indulged in pleasures with her. His deep-set gaze spread like a cold light, making her shudder involuntarily. Even though her body was still weak and sore, she promptly got out of bed and changed her clothes.

It was simply foolish to the extreme. In this world, except for Avery Jane, if any woman told him she was tired, he’d feel nothing. But as soon as Avery Jane furrowed her brow slightly, he felt anxious. If it weren’t to divert other people’s attention to this woman, he truly wouldn’t even want to take another look.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon took place at the city’s most bustling plaza. Although she was just a novice model, she landed this major international brand endorsement all because of the man backing her. Thinking about this, her proud smile shone like the brightest sun; she had used every trick just to keep him a little longer. He should be satisfied with her, right?

:”Look quickly, that’s the model, Avery Jane. She’s only a bit taller than you, but not as pretty. Look at her; her boyfriend is Joshua Hughes, you know, the CEO of Hughes Clan. She’s so lucky to get such an endorsement......” The menswear store was never as lively as the womenswear store. The staff were craning their necks from inside the shop, eager to see the rumored richest man.

He arrived, didn’t he? Avery Jane’s face suddenly turned pale, so translucent and fragile even beneath the faint blush.

She thought she might never see him again in this lifetime. This city was so vast that it seemed they almost wouldn’t have a chance to meet, yet he appeared, finding new love at lightning speed. Is all love in this world just a lie? But what right does she have to think so?
