Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”You don’t want to watch him die, but one death is unbearable for you. Yet I have watched three people with my bloodline die, besides my parents, there’s also my child who never even got a chance to see this world. So one life for three is already unfair, and you won’t even give me this unfair outcome. Amir, I’m really disappointed in you...” Atlas Hallow’s voice carried a trace of weakness. Before this, he truly considered Amir Hallow as a brother, but this brother had locked him up in a dog cage.

”Charlotte said saving your father is instinctual, understandable, but not forgivable,” Atlas Hallow said and then glanced at his watch. It was almost time, and he had a date to go to.

Nothing could spoil the good mood he had for his date, so he didn’t want to discuss those painful past events anymore.

”I’m sorry.” Amir’s inner world was shaken; he truly didn’t realize that Atlas Hallow had lost the three most important people to him.

In a moment of thought, he ultimately made the wrong decision, destroying the brotherhood he and Atlas had carefully maintained for so many years.

”Goodbye, Amir. Take care of yourself.” Atlas Hallow looked at his watch again; exactly ten minutes had passed, and he should be leaving.

The date was important to him now, so how could he let Charlotte wait?

Amir felt a chill run through his heart upon hearing the goodbye.

He knew that Atlas Hallow was hinting that their relationship was over.

In fact, this result was already better than expected, after all, given his past nature, Atlas Hallow might have taken drastic action. But now, surprisingly, he just let it go and told him to take care of himself.

Perhaps he was truly in love, because love can soften a person.

Daniel Parker saw from a distance the boss leaving, joy radiating from his face as if he were about to whistle in delight.

Moreover, the most notable aspect was the faintly indecent smile on his face.

He remembered that he was asked to book movie tickets yesterday and that he had bought all the tickets surrounding his seat, and when he asked the boss why not just rent out the whole theater, the boss mentioned that the lady boss preferred it lively for this movie.

Was he going to see a movie? It sure looked like it.

”Are you wearing that to the cinema?” Daniel Parker glanced at the boss, noting there was still an hour before the movie started, and yet he was going dressed like that?

Was there something wrong with that attire?

Daniel Parker glanced at Atlas Hallow, who was in formal attire—watch, cufflinks, belt—all impeccably matched.

The whole aura exuded was one of extreme subtlety and luxury, perfectly suitable for work or business meetings.

But now the boss was headed to the biggest and most bustling mall in the city, to watch a movie there.

With the throngs of people there, wearing such a formal suit might seem a bit odd, wouldn’t it?

He was probably the only one dressed like that in the entire mall.

In that expensive black suit, standing in the crowd, he would undoubtedly stand out, so that by then the ladies would only have eyes for him rather than for the movie.

The girls would find him much better looking than the film.

”Not appropriate?” Atlas Hallow didn’t feel that way himself.

Apparently, he dressed like this three hundred and sixty-five days a year, and for a moment, he didn’t realize this was a date to watch a movie, making such formal attire indeed slightly inappropriate.

”Even if you haven’t eaten pork, you must have seen a pig walk; shouldn’t you know what a date looks like? Besides, driving that car isn’t suitable either. You should be taking a sports car for the date.” Daniel Parker said seriously, hoping the boss would have a good mood for the date, instead of being swamped with work all the time.

”Hmm, when you finally manage to get a date, I’ll gift you a sports car for it.” Atlas Hallow said while walking towards the direction of the cinema without turning back.

It made him almost want to hit someone—he was merely giving a kind reminder and yet was ironically remarked upon by his boss for not having a girlfriend.

Did he enjoy being single like this? If it weren’t for working with this workaholic, having barely any rest day after day, he’d have had time to find a girlfriend, wouldn’t he?

Daniel Parker’s reminder was indeed correct; such attire wasn’t quite suitable, not to mention it was the hottest part of summer, and the mall was not like his office where the temperature was eternally kept at sixteen degrees.

He headed back to change cars and outfits, appearing relaxed and ready to pick up Charlotte.

The fact proved that a good-looking man, no matter what he wore, always drew attention, especially from women.

Atlas Hallow parked his sports car under Charlotte’s office building, a whole financial building exhaling strong cold air to drive away the evening heat of the summer.

His long, well-built body leaned against the black sports car, long legs crossed languidly yet exuding a deep-seated sexiness.

When Charlotte met Atlas Hallow, she had also changed into a different outfit, knowing he was always punctual, she made sure to change before he arrived.

She wore what every girl would wear in the middle of summer.

A simple printed white T-shirt, a short skirt, and a pair of white sneakers that everyone else wore; she guessed Atlas did know how to dress down from his suit, right?

Otherwise, if she wore this outfit alongside his suit, there would indeed be a disconnect.

The elevator went all the way down, and usually, Charlotte took the elevator straight to the underground parking, but today, since Atlas was picking her up, she didn’t drive, and upon coming out of the first-floor elevator, the receptionists in the financial building were a bit taken aback.

Whereas their usually fashionable and beautiful female CEO now seemed transformed, pure and simple like a high school student.

By the way, their female CEO must be around twenty-five or six years old, and rumor has it she even had a child, yet she looked barely twenty, appearing fresher and more delightful than some of them who hadn’t had kids.

Charlotte disregarded those complicated looks, proceeding cheerfully towards where Atlas, sometimes notably dull, had agreed on her suggestion for a commoners’ date, watching a movie and the like. She had been looking forward to this normal sort of romantic date all afternoon.

Upon reaching the entrance, she saw him along the steps, as the sunset’s last rays highlighted where he leaned against that black sports car, radiating magnificence.

He had swapped out his usual formal attire for a dark green T-shirt, black linen casual pants slightly loose yet hinting at his strong and muscular long legs. Under the sunset casting on his face, his features were just as deep and captivating as always.

”You look really beautiful today,” Atlas Hallow praised sincerely, watching every step Charlotte took down the stairs, an exciting rhythm to his heartbeat with her every step.

”Just today?” Charlotte stood in front of him, tilting her head to meet his gaze, her smile as sweet as if laced with honey.

Atlas Hallow smiled silently, opening the car door for her, and then getting into the driver’s seat himself, as the sports car emitted a deep roar before speeding away...

”Amir just came to my office,” Atlas said as he drove towards the cinema. Charlotte had been worried these days about the aftermath, and today this concluded, offering her some peace of mind.

”What did he say?” Charlotte worried about what might have already transpired; she didn’t like the idea of Atlas and Amir being unhappy with each other, even though she hated Amir for having kidnapped Atlas.

She managed to live peacefully with Luna at the end, hoping the Hallow brothers won’t reach a point of no return, even if they couldn’t be like before.

After all, Amir was not beyond redemption—if it weren’t for his father being hunted down this time, he wouldn’t have lost his head and kidnapped Atlas.

”You should be asking what I told him,” Atlas Hallow laughed and reached out to hold Charlotte’s hand, bringing it to his lips for a gentle kiss.

”I told him to take care of himself...” He didn’t want to pursue it any longer, as if he seemed to have gotten everything he had ever wanted, then let it go.

Atlas Hallow didn’t want his peaceful and sweet life to taint with bloodstained guilt, moreover, Charlotte’s words rang true; that Amir’s saving his father was innate, and he couldn’t fault him for having that one bit of affection for his father.

”Atlas, do you know why I like you so much?” Charlotte’s small hand was tightly held in his large one, warmth surging through his palm, giving an overwhelming sense of safety.

”Is it my captivating beauty?” Atlas Hallow teased, the laughter in his eyes as intoxicating as fine liquor...
