Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Charlotte liked this kind of feeling. Actually, she never really had a proper romantic relationship. Marrying Atlas first and then going through all those ups and downs, perhaps you couldn’t even find one or two couples like this among many young couples.

She enjoyed this feeling similar to being in love. Even though they already had a child, was it wrong to indulge in her little whims?

What should a girl in love be like? She didn’t know. Maybe a thousand people would have a thousand different looks. She just wanted to be a little bit willful like this. Perhaps in her world, only in front of Atlas would she have this little girl’s side.

She couldn’t act spoiled to anyone. She couldn’t act spoiled with her mommy, nor with Luna, nor with her friends. But the moment she let go of her knot, she realized she could act spoiled in front of Atlas.

This coquettish, soft voice made Atlas lose control, holding her up and placing her onto the dining table, sweeping away the food and tableware placed on the table with his large hand...

He really was crazy. Was it because he was already prepared to ruin the carpet, so he acted so wantonly?

The half-drunk coffee, smoked meat, toasted bread, half-fried eggs, and jam all spilled onto the carpet.

Charlotte hooked her arms around his neck and softly breathed, ”Can’t you be a little calmer?”

”No...” The opened robe revealed fair and tender skin, making his heartbeat accelerate. Leaning down, the air was filled with an ambiguous atmosphere that made one’s face flush and heart race as the man and woman entangled.

Indeed, men can’t be teased, and Atlas especially cannot.

A few teasing words brought bitterness upon herself.

The table was really a bit hard, her whole body felt as if it was about to collapse. She could only blame herself for not choosing the right place. Next time she plays with him, she should find a place with more people. He won’t possibly enact justice on her in front of everyone, right?

”I want to go back to see Mia. I promised her to take her to eat ice cream today. She had a weak stomach since she was little, so I’ve always been afraid to let her eat it. But she’s really craving it. She held my hand a few days ago and said that just eating once would be fine. The weather is too hot, and now that her health is a bit better, she should be able to eat some.” Charlotte panted, lying on Atlas’s chest, all sweaty, both hers and his.

Staying in the hotel any longer, they probably wouldn’t need to go out tonight. It was the afternoon, Mia should have woken up, she could take her to eat a little ice cream, and in the evening, take her for a drive, then have dinner outside. Isn’t that how weekends should be spent?

”Alright...” His large hand ran over her back, kissed her lips, then embraced her, walking into the bathroom. Both of them were a sweaty mess and couldn’t meet his beloved daughter like this.

Just then, the doorbell rang urgently. Atlas put Charlotte down in the bathroom tub, picked up a robe to put on, and buttoned the belt while bending down to say, ”You take a bath first, let me check it out.”

It must be Daniel who found his way here. There must be something important for him to come.

Opening the door, he saw Daniel, face full of anxiety, sweat seeping from his forehead. It seemed like rare things would make Daniel so unsettled.

”Mia has been taken.” As soon as he said this, Atlas’s face changed.

His face turned pale, as if severely hit, and a pair of eyes flashed with a blood-red glow: ”Now what?”

”The Fifth Young Master has already sent everyone chasing them, and Flower Snake has spread the word that there’s a silver ring on Mia. Anyone who dares hurt her will oppose the entire Tanner Clan. Now, those kidnappers have changed their minds and want to negotiate with you. After all, they were acting on orders, and they need you to promise not to hold them accountable and to ensure their personal safety.” This was the first time Daniel encountered such a situation, with hired kidnappers turning traitorous. It was quite amusing.

But since the kidnapped was Atlas’s daughter, they couldn’t take it lightly.

Since the call wasn’t answered, he went directly to find Fifth Young Master and Flower Snake. If they delayed even a bit more, more dangers would arise, so he rushed up.

However, it was slightly exaggerated, as nobody answered Atlas’s phone for several hours, nor did Charlotte’s. Were they occupied from last night until today?

The boss was quite the character, no wonder he looked unwell, probably from overindulgence.

”Where are they?” He needed to go and negotiate immediately. If these people truly repented at the cliff, he would leave them a way out, after all, as long as Mia was safe, that’s all that mattered. As for the mastermind, there was no room for negotiation.

He would definitely make them regret ever messing with his daughter.

”Charlotte, you need to calmly listen to me. Mia has been taken, I need to go negotiate. Change your clothes and follow my men back. Be careful on the road, understand?” Atlas entered the bathroom like a storm, speaking in a steady tone.

Charlotte was far from calm. Her face, flushed from the hot bath, lost all color instantly: ”How could it be?”

She knew about Fifth’s estate, even a bank vault wouldn’t be so securely guarded. How could anyone take her away?

”Your mommy and Luna were taking her to the mall to buy something when it happened on the way. But there’s no need to worry now. They’ve set conditions to negotiate with me personally. I guarantee she’ll be fine.” Atlas reassured, touching Charlotte’s wet hair.

”Agree to any condition, Atlas, understand?” She couldn’t bear Mia suffering even a bit. Although asking to negotiate proved Mia was unharmed, spending money for safety was the best option.

”No police, any amount...” Charlotte hurriedly spoke while attempting to leave the bathroom, though her legs were too weak to stand without relying on the sink: ”Hurry, go, hurry...”

Without much time to say more, he quickly dressed and followed Daniel away, leaving two bodyguards to escort Charlotte back.

As the car drove halfway, Flower Snake called, saying he had retrieved Mia, and those people were dealt with.

He immediately called Charlotte to assure her of safety, then turned the car towards Flower Snake.

After receiving the call, Charlotte’s legs grew weaker, her heart still pounding intensely, her entire body tingling.

Never had her emotions fluctuated so rapidly, like a rollercoaster. She was so afraid, worried something might have happened to Mia.

That was her life, she couldn’t imagine continuing if something happened to Mia.

With shaky hands, she dressed, only then noticing dozens of missed calls on her phone.

”Mommy, I know what you want to say. Mia is fine. Atlas will pick her up and be back soon.” Without waiting for the person on the other end to speak, Charlotte rushed to give the news.

On the other end, relieved sighs could be heard. Everyone’s nerves finally relaxed.

Charlotte grabbed her handbag and left the room, accompanied by Atlas’s bodyguards heading to the elevator. This incident prompted a decision.

Mia never realized that being kidnapped at the age of four would lead to a significant turning point, altering her entire life direction.

Atlas drove to Flower Snake’s residence. Flower Snake was already standing outside with Mia waiting for him.

”Godfather, do you want to eat ice cream? My mommy said I can have some now.” Mia was still a slender girl, not the chubby adorable type, but still lovable beyond measure. Her big eyes, like shiny black grapes, seemed to reflect the whole world.

Laughing, Flower Snake said, ”Godfather is old now, no ice cream for me.”

”Godfather is not old.” Mia said seriously, holding Flower Snake’s hand, which made people adore her even more.

Atlas approached them, Mia looked up at her daddy, blinking and saying, ”Daddy, you’re too late, you’re punished to buy me strawberry ice cream.”

”Alright, any punishment is fine, first go back with Uncle Daniel. Mommy will take you for ice cream later, okay?” After speaking, Atlas instructed Daniel to accompany Charlotte and Mia for ice cream later, even though Mia was already back, he was now a bit paranoid.

Mia nodded, then beckoned Flower Snake with her hand. Flower Snake crouched down, and Mia hugged him, giving him a kiss on the cheek: ”Thank you, Godfather.”

She didn’t quite understand how serious the previous situation was, but knew Flower Snake certainly did something good for her. So, her smile sweeter than honey as she thanked him and turned to Atlas: ”You should... reflect on this...”

Her tone was like that of a little adult, which was quite amusing.

Now he couldn’t accompany Mia back, he still needed to thoroughly understand what happened with Flower Snake.
