Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

He had his back to her, and the wound on his back was deep. Thick blood seeped out from the slash in his clothes, quickly soaking his black shirt. A sharp, piercing pain suddenly rose from her heart.

Avery Jane thought there was no one left. Besides Lucas Yates, her husband who died just one day after their wedding, no one else in this world could treat her like this. Yet this man did the same thing, risking his life to ensure her safety.

She truly did not understand him at all, not at all.

The fierce fight resembled a battle of beasts. A few more desperadoes rushed in quickly; these people, driven by drugs and gambling, had lost all humanity. Each strike aimed at the most lethal spots. A baseball bat glanced off his forehead, leaving it split open as crimson blood streamed down, some even clinging to his thick lashes. Only his eyes, like black diamonds, emitted a fierce and ruthless glow.

She wanted to rush forward, but how could she help him? She would only be a burden.

Those damn bastards! Joshua Hughes, seeing red with rage, gripped the wrist of an attacker lunging at him, then swung it around fiercely, making the hand clutching a hammer brutally smash into another person. Blood erupted from that person’s face, causing the entire cheekbone to sink—his eyes almost unfindable.

Avery watched everything, her face wet with tears of extreme fear and shock. She wanted to shout for him to be careful, but her voice was like it was enchanted; in the blood-scented night, she couldn’t utter a word.

Atlas Hallow’s car had already driven over. From afar, he saw the scene, slammed the brakes, then rudely pushed Avery into the car by the shoulder. With a press of the car key, he locked the doors. The car’s windows were specially made bulletproof glass.

He took off his suit, pulled off his tie, rolled up his sleeves, and with a sharp knife in hand, charged into the fight.

Seeing Atlas joining in, those bloodthirsty men seemed to have found a new target, rushing at him.

He lifted a leg and fiercely kicked over the person charging at him, then held his knife to the man’s artery: ”Quick, where’s Big Head George, say it...”

His voice was extremely chilling, having lost all patience to entangle further with these men. He wanted to personally end the lives of the Hunter Family father and son. Not only did they conspire with Flix Hallow to murder his parents, but they even harmed Charlotte Miller—these were things he couldn’t tolerate.

”Quickly, they’re here...” Suddenly, many people surged out behind her—so many she saw Julian Carter leading dozens of men in black rushing forward quickly. Screams instantly filled the air. She closed her eyes in fright, her mind filled with those violent and cruel scenes. At this moment, a pair of strong hands gently embraced her, a head rested against her soft black hair. The two stood quietly at the alley filled with killing intent and blood scent. Amidst cries and noise, she could still hear each other’s breathing.

Julian Carter and his group had blocked the entire alley, still fighting but a new group of people had joined in.

Atlas pressed the car’s control lock. Blood on his little knife dripped slowly to the ground, filling the entire alley with a nauseating stench of blood.

Joshua Hughes opened the car door, looked at Avery inside, her face pale as paper, with eyes as gentle as stars in the sky.

”Are you scared...?” He held Avery’s hand, pulling her out of the car, gently pressed his thin lips to her ear, asking softly, as if he wasn’t the same fierce, violent man from earlier.

She kept her eyes closed, warm tears welled again in her eyes. She wanted to hold them back, but she couldn’t. Scalding tears with burning breaths fell on his chest.

”Big Head George is on the way to the port. I need to go to the hospital to see Charlotte. Leave his life to me.” Daniel Parker made a call. Charlotte had been brought out of surgery and was still asleep due to anesthesia. He hoped her first sight upon waking would be him.

So he needed to return to the hospital now. Big Head George wouldn’t escape from Joshua Hughes either, so letting him catch the man was the best choice.
