Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”Luna Miller’s life is still intact, that’s a good thing. I’ve already arranged for someone to bring Luna back first, so your mom will be at ease. In Las Vegas, you mustn’t act impulsively. If you do, I promise I’ll have you sent away immediately, even if it means knocking you out and tying you up. Understand?” After making a few phone calls, Atlas Hallow walked over to Charlotte Miller’s side and seriously instructed her, his face stern.

He wasn’t joking. He knew that when Charlotte encountered issues with friends or family, she was prone to impulsiveness. So he felt he had to give her this warning.

The plane landed smoothly at the airport. It must have been a special day because another private plane had landed there today as well.

That plane also had an ”H” painted on it, and the model was identical to Atlas Hallow’s plane.

”Joshua Hughes is also here...” Atlas Hallow’s low voice floated in the chilly air. Although he had no friendship or enmity with Joshua, there was a sense that two kings could not coexist.

What is he doing in Las Vegas?

Most people who come to Las Vegas are gamblers. Joshua Hughes doesn’t gamble, so is he here to open a casino?

As Atlas Hallow was escorting Charlotte Miller off the plane, a man was also stepping off the other plane with the same ”H” on its body.

This was probably the most handsome man Charlotte Miller had ever seen. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say this man shone like the sun and moon.

”Caught your eye?” Atlas Hallow’s gaze landed on Charlotte Miller’s face, seeing her look curiously at the man stepping off the distant plane. Sure enough, it was Joshua Hughes.

”That man is really good-looking,” Charlotte said unabashedly, making Atlas Hallow feel a twinge of jealousy.

”How good? Since when did you become so superficial?” Atlas tightened his grip on Charlotte’s hand without realizing it, his words tinged with a hint of sourness.

”His wife is even prettier...” Charlotte noticed that it wasn’t the man off the plane basking in the sun and moon’s glow but the woman he was carefully assisting beside him.

Even with a certain distance, one could sense that woman’s unmatched elegance and charm.

”Not as pretty as you.” Atlas glanced distantly over; there were many beautiful women in the world, but in his eyes, his Charlotte was the most beautiful.

Was this the lover’s eye that makes a beauty? Charlotte faintly smiled. Putting aside other matters, by traditional male standards of beauty, that distant woman surely surpassed her.

”Avery Jane?” Charlotte paused for a moment. As they slowly made their way to the special passageway, she suddenly recognized that the breathtaking figure.

”You know her?” Atlas Hallow’s gaze flickered. He had never heard of how Charlotte got to know Joshua’s woman.

”Yes, her father knew my mom. She came over to play at my house a couple of times when she was little.” Charlotte tugged at Atlas’s sleeve, whispering softly, ”Her father once came to borrow money. It took him a long time to say he needed to borrow two thousand dollars, probably to rebuild a tomb for Avery Jane’s mother.”

After Charlotte spoke, she took another serious look at the woman. It was certainly her. When she met Avery Jane, Avery was just over ten, but even then, her beauty was unforgettable.

”Avery...” Charlotte softly called, wondering if Avery still remembered her. After all, they were both so young then, and over a decade had passed. Forgetting was understandable.

”You’re Charlotte?” The woman approaching from the opposite side seemed to recognize Charlotte immediately. Surprised, she released Joshua’s hand and rushed over joyfully.

Long-lost friends embraced, feeling a mix of wanting to cry and laugh.

Separated for over a decade and having completely lost touch, they never imagined a chance reunion at the airport. It was genuinely a poignant joy.

”Avery, when did you move away?” Charlotte warmly held Avery’s hand and asked, not noticing the man behind Avery, whose sharp gaze seemed murderous.

Atlas Hallow noticed Joshua Hughes’s demeanor, coldly chuckled, and stared back.

”I... don’t really remember much from before. After a fall, a lot became fuzzy,” Avery Jane shyly smiled. The man behind her had already wrapped his arm around her waist, looking at Charlotte as if warning her not to ask too much.

”Charlotte, this is my husband, Joshua Hughes.” Avery didn’t seem to notice the change in Joshua’s expressions, happily introducing her husband to her old friend.

”Mr. Hughes, I’ve heard so much about you...” Charlotte smiled lightly, an intangible question lingered in her eyes as she probed Joshua’s eyes, finding the tension in them strange.

Joshua extended his hand, and Atlas Hallow stepped forward to shake hands with him.

”My friend, Atlas Hallow.” Charlotte’s mind raced to find a word to introduce Atlas, but nothing seemed fitting. Call him an ex-husband seemed inappropriate, calling him her child’s father didn’t feel right either, so she simply introduced him as a friend.

Atlas’s face darkened at being introduced as her friend?

Was this a new status? Yet they had a child together and occasionally shared those loving moments. Could this really be considered just friends?

Charlotte felt a chill down her spine; the term ’friend’ must have upset Atlas greatly?

Friend?

Upon hearing that word, Joshua’s lips curved into a slight mocking smile. Atlas didn’t mind. Who knew whose days would be harder in the future anyway? After all, everything between him and Charlotte was already over; he just needed her to relax and solidify their relationship.

Yet Joshua seemed scared of his woman encountering old acquaintances. Perhaps he was hiding many guilty deeds?

Charlotte and Avery exchanged contact information, not realizing they ended up staying at the same hotel.

Atlas closed the room door, watching Charlotte settle on the sofa and start making a call to her mom: ”Mom, don’t worry. Luna has already flown back, and Atlas Hallow arranged the best doctor to continue her treatment. I have some matters to take care of in Las Vegas, but no need to worry as Atlas is with me.”

Freya Morgon’s voice sounded frail; all her life wanted was her two daughters to lead peaceful lives. But who would’ve thought Charlotte’s love journey was bumpy, and Luna not only experienced romantic setbacks but also had her fingers cut off? What could be done about this?

However, hearing that Luna had taken a flight back did bring some relief: ”Charlotte, be very careful yourself, and don’t touch gambling, do you understand?”

”By the way, mom, I met Avery Jane. Do you remember her?” Charlotte suddenly thought of her airport encounter with Avery, knowing her mom was an old acquaintance with Avery’s father.

”Avery Jane, what’s she doing in Las Vegas?” Freya’s voice suddenly held a hint of tension on the call, but then quickly calmed as she said to Charlotte, ”Let me speak to Atlas; I want to thank him personally for taking care of Luna.”

Although her mom’s request seemed a bit odd, Charlotte still handed the phone to Atlas.

”My mom wants to extend her thanks,” Charlotte said, watching Atlas accept the phone with a serious expression.

”Atlas Hallow, I have a favor to ask of you. The Avery Jane Charlotte met today has ties with my family. If she’s ever in need, please help her on my behalf,” Freya Morgon had never asked anyone for help in her lifetime, not even during the toughest times. But this time, she was making an exception.

”I understand; rest assured,” Atlas’s deep voice was full of strength, giving a reassuring feeling.

”Thank you...” Freya expressed her gratitude and hung up the call.

The Morgon Family had a longstanding connection with Joshua Hughes’s wife. If it could win over his future mother-in-law, Atlas would do anything. But he guessed he probably couldn’t help much since Joshua was around.

With someone like Joshua Hughes, how could he let his wife suffer?

”Atlas, do you think if Luna’s fingers can’t be restored to their original condition, she’ll be very upset? It must hurt, and Luna couldn’t have been into gambling. Someone must have done this deliberately,” Charlotte looked at the vibrant world outside, appearing filled with luxury, money, and desire.

Such an atmosphere easily leads one astray. Charlotte gazed at this lively world; she had never set foot in a casino due to family rules but now felt like exploring this place where magical stories occur daily.

Those three fingers, if someone indeed conspired against Luna, then she would definitely have to settle the score...
