Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

Caught off guard, Chen Jiajia let out a sharp cry, ”Ah, Dad!”

Xie Ning stared coldly at the father and daughter. ”Calling for your dad? It wouldn’t matter if you called for your ancestors.”

”What are you doing? Let my daughter go!” Chen Chong was also startled by her sudden move.

’A Superpower User?’

’This girl, who looks about the same age as his daughter, is actually a Superpower User?’

’And her superpower seems so incredible. She can create a Metal Spike from her hand at will. I’ve never seen anything like it!’

”Where is Song Shijun?” Xie Ning dragged Chen Jiajia with the Metal Spike, pulling her close.

Chen Jiajia was in agony.

She could feel strange waves of pain pulsing from her arm.

Plus, the other girl’s icy gaze was terrifying, as if... as if she was going to kill her.

”Where. Is. Song. Shijun.” Xie Ning enunciated each word, her tone dangerously cold.

’I knew there was something wrong with this group. Sure enough, all it took was a little prodding for them to show their true colors.’

Chen Chong glared at Xie Ning with hatred, not daring to make a rash move.

’A girl about the same age as his daughter, yet so calculating.’

’I thought they had really gone to search the fourth-floor lecture hall. I never expected the three of them to leave only to hide by the door and listen in.’

”Hey, don’t go too far!” Xu Yu hurriedly stepped forward, her expression one of self-righteous indignation. ”Why are you picking on an eighteen-year-old girl? Let her go! What school are you from? How can you be so shameless?”

’Xie Ning hesitated for a second, a fleeting thought of eliminating this obstacle for the Swift Leopard Team crossing her mind.’

’She’s so annoying, and her mouth never stops.’

’Couldn’t she just stand by quietly and watch the show? Did she really have to jump in just to feel important?’

”Where is Song Shijun.” The Metal Spike in Xie Ning’s hand pushed a centimeter deeper, and Chen Jiajia let out a bloodcurdling scream.

”Go on, scream. A little louder. It’ll just make any passing zombies even more excited,” Xie Ning said in a light, even tone, a chill in her eyes.

Chen Jiajia trembled, pressing her lips together tightly. Large beads of sweat dripped down her pale face.

”I’ll talk! I’ll talk! Just let my daughter go. Song Shijun and the other students are all in the large lecture hall on the fourth floor.” Chen Chong said angrily, his face grim. ”The students were all there for a competition, and then some of them suddenly collapsed with high fevers.”

”The teachers called for paramedics and carried them out, but Song Shijun and the others were too scared to come out.”

”Later, the unconscious people woke up one by one and started biting people, so they locked the lecture hall door. They should be pretty safe in there now.”

”I’ve told you everything. Now, let my daughter go.”

”Aah...” Chen Jiajia suddenly opened her mouth and let out a low, sobbing cry.

Xie Ning’s Metal Spike pushed in a fraction deeper. A smile played on her lips. ”This student’s father... you don’t seem to be very good at telling stories. This crude tale you’ve concocted is full of holes.”

”We can keep dragging this out if you want. I’m just afraid your daughter doesn’t have that kind of time.”

Chen Chong looked at his precious daughter’s pale face, his heart aching. ”I—I’ve told you everything!”

”Then what about that locked conference room door in the second-floor hallway?”

”You said some of the students who collapsed were carried out. What about the ones who weren’t moved in time?”

”There were nearly a thousand students here for the competition, and at least a hundred supervising teachers. Even if they all turned into zombies, they had to have gone somewhere.”

”Song... Song Shijun is on the second floor!”
