Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

She’s going to Unit 98?

’It can’t be what they’re thinking, can it?’

A faint smile flickered in Wang Zongxuan’s eyes. He glanced at his idiotic buddy and said, ”Let’s go.”

That son of a bitch Wang Han, who’d screwed the two of them over so badly, surely never expected retribution to be so swift and sweet.

”Ji Taixian, let me ask you something.” Xie Ning walked quickly at the front, unable to resist asking, ”Is it always that much trouble for you to get things out of your Space?”

’It’s not like they won’t come out if you don’t shake, right?’

”Not always.” Ji Taixian shook his head honestly. ”Taking out one or two things is fine, but when I’m storing or retrieving a lot, I have to do what I did just now. Sometimes I have to jump around like crazy just to put things in.”

Xie Ning: ...

”Pretty bizarre, huh? But it’s better than having no superpower at all,” Wang Zongxuan sighed.

”Not necessarily.” Xie Ning glanced at him. ”Train hard. As long as your aim is good enough, marksmanship is a decent skill to have.”

”You’re not wrong! Our Old Wang is number one when it comes to shooting. Back in the day, in the whole compound, only Chen’s marksmanship surpassed our Old Wang. None of the other small fries could even compare to him.”

”Who’s ’your’ Old Wang?” Wang Zongxuan’s eyes practically rolled up into his head.

Xie Ning glanced at Ji Taixian, who was desperately trying to sing Wang Zongxuan’s praises, and silently turned her head away.

’I’m not actually that vicious. I don’t just kill people at the drop of a hat, so there’s no need for such deliberate fawning.’

”You guys are out gathering supplies, so why did you just use your things to desperately save a few people you barely know? You’re not even on the same team, and on top of that, you exposed the Space Ability in front of me.”

”Oh, right.” Ji Taixian paused, then exclaimed in a low voice, ”But you were about to kill Old Wang! I was panicking! Besides, if we run out of supplies, we can just find more. We couldn’t just stand by and watch you cut off those people’s fingers and cripple them for no reason.”

”We may not have known them well, but we’d gotten along for a few days. Even a chance meeting is a kind of fate,” Ji Taixian said, rubbing his nose.

”If Wang Zongxuan hadn’t been so close to the iron gate, I might not have been able to catch him,” Xie Ning said flatly.

In truth, it was precisely because Ji Taixian had acted with such loyalty just now that Xie Ning decided to give the pair a chance to turn over a new leaf.

After all, a Superpower User who started out with a massive fifty-square-meter Space could truly be called a monster.

Hearing this, Wang Zongxuan couldn’t help but give a bitter smile. ”It was because I underestimated my enemy.”

Wang Han had lied to them, saying Unit 85 only had some old folks, women, children, and one able-bodied man. He’d said it would be a piece of cake for the two of them to go in for the rescue.

’More like we’d be the ones taken out in minutes, right? That fucking liar...’

As they spoke, the three of them had already run to Unit 98 and quickly circled around to the back door.

Wang Zongxuan and Ji Taixian had assumed the young woman might come up with some kind of attack strategy, but to their surprise, she didn’t bother with any subtleties.

”There are three people at the back door. I’ll take care of two. You two can handle the last one, right?”

The two followers stared at each other. Before they could even react, they saw the formidable young woman grab the bars of the security window with both hands and rip them apart with a powerful tug.

The two sturdy window bars came away like fried dough sticks as she pulled them out, one in each hand...

”My big sis is so badass.” A look of worship shone in Ji Taixian’s eyes.

Wang Zongxuan couldn’t look his stupid teammate in the eye. ”Wasn’t it ’Daddy’?”

He felt he would never forget the sight of that idiot kneeling and calling someone ”Daddy” for as long as he lived.

In the blink of an eye, Xie Ning placed a hand on the windowsill and vaulted nimbly through the opening.

Two men who were in the middle of a smoke break heard the noise and turned to look, only to be completely dumbfounded.
