Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

”Sis! Sis! Sis! Don’t kill those who surrender! It’s international custom! A custom, I tell you!”

Please spare me, Your Majesty! Queen! No, Goddess!

Ji Taixian was so scared he was actually crying. If he could earn this goddess’s forgiveness by kneeling on the ground, he was willing...

Xie Ning lowered her gaze to him, then glanced at the man curled up like a shrimp beside him. ”So, it seems that Wang of yours wants to play dirty?”

”Excellent.” Xie Ning smiled coldly and nodded slightly. ”Uncle, drag them over here.”

”On my way!” Song Youzhi set down his water bucket and eagerly ran to the utility room, dragging four young men, who were squealing like stuck pigs, to the doorway.

Xie Ning planted her foot on one of the young men—the one with an ear stud—and slowly crouched. The metal at her fingertip condensed into a blade, which she aimed at the young man’s pinky.

”I had Xiao Huang Mao bring you a message, didn’t I? If you don’t come and trade supplies for your people, I’ll send your Wang a finger every hour.”

Ji Taixian’s eyes went wide, and he couldn’t help but swallow hard. GULP.

Looking at his four companions, who were trembling like little quails, he stammered, ”S-Sis... surely we don’t have to go this far?”

”How do you like this grand welcome?” Xie Ning asked, raising an eyebrow, her gaze chilling as it fell upon him.

”Sis! Sis!” Seeing Xie Ning’s blade begin to descend, about to genuinely slice off his companion’s finger, Ji Taixian’s knees buckled. He instantly knelt, raising his hands high and shouting, ”Dad! Daddy! Daddy!!”

Song Youzhi stared at the rather handsome young man, his face a mask of pure confusion.

’He’s got the look of a pretty boy, which is hardly a redeeming quality, but I never thought he’d be crazy, too!’

Song Kexin, peeking from the window, witnessed her sister’s second rule of survival in person.

’So *this* is what she meant by ”don’t be afraid when you meet ghouls and monsters; just hit them with the socialist Iron Fist until they call you Daddy!”’

This was it.

A live tutorial, guaranteed results.

”W-we have supplies! Supplies! For, for you!” Ji Taixian yelled repeatedly. ”We’ll trade! We’ll trade, trade!”

The words had barely left his mouth when the man began to convulse as if having an epileptic fit. As his body twitched, a torrent of items—CLATTER, CRACKLE—rained down from his person, covering the floor in instant noodles, cookies, and more.

Song Kexin quickly opened the door and ran out to watch the spectacle. ”Wow! I can’t believe it! For a guy with such skinny arms and legs, you can sure hide a lot of stuff on you!”

Xie Ning silently turned her head away and, with a deadpan expression, instructed her clueless little sister, ”He’s a Space Ability User.”

”What?” Song Kexin’s big, sparkling eyes widened, a look of pure envy on her face. ”You mean like in novels, a Space you can enter and exit whenever you want, where you can farm, raise chickens and ducks, and it even has its own Spiritual Spring?”

Song Kexin’s eyes lit up. ”Then you can just hide inside to escape whenever you run into zombies!”

Ji Taixian glanced at the girl and shook his head like a rattle drum. ”No, no. It’s just a fifty-square-meter storage space. People can’t go inside.”

’Yeah, right. In her dreams.’

’Farm and raise chickens and ducks? A Spiritual Spring? What the hell is she talking about? Besides, look at me. Do I, with my young master airs, look like the farming type?!’

’On top of that, if I could really enter and exit the Space whenever I wanted like she said, I’d just stay inside all day and never come out. Then I wouldn’t have to face those disgusting zombies.’

’And I *definitely* wouldn’t have been beaten to a pulp by that queen today!’

”This is only enough to trade for half a person,” Xie Ning said coldly.

Ji Taixian nodded repeatedly. ”I get it, I get it! I’ll... I’ll go inside and get the things for you. It’s a bit unseemly to do this out here at the main gate.”

’This Space Ability User is surprisingly fussy!’

’Taking things out at the gate is unseemly? What’s so unseemly about it?’
