Chapter 603 603:- Source of the Curse

”It looks like I was correct.” Riyaʼs eyes were closed and said.

”Excuse me....!!! Miss Riya, mind telling me what exactly are you talking about?” Julia did not understand what Riya was talking about. Riya had closed her eyes for a while. And Julia had no idea what she was doing or what she was talking about

Riya opened her eyes and crouched down. She then put her palm on the soil. ”The whole of Lionrock city has been cursed. I can feel it. Just by putting my hand on the soil, I could sense the evil curse that had been placed on this land. Itʼs horrible.” This might be one of the reasons why Riya and others felt so sick being in this city.

”But the curse gets weaker at the heart of the city.” Helen had used her magic to somewhat weaken the curse in the center of the city. As for completely removing the curse, Helen did not have that much power. She could just temporarily suppress the curse not remove it. Only someone like the Goddess of nature had such ability.

Just weakening the curse in her territory had consumed a very large portion of her Mana. If Helen were to leave the Heart of the City, then the curse would get stronger in her territory as well. The curse would begin affecting the normal people living in her territory, which was the heart of the city.

”Helen has to constantly use her mana to forcefully suppress the curse.” Riya kind of understood why Helen looked so desperate. The situation of the Lionrock city was indeed very severe. It was even more severe than the situation at the Savannahclaw city. In this city, the curse was much stronger.

”In Savannahclaw City, the land wasnʼt cursed. But rather the people were cursed. And the curse could spread from one person to another. But here, since the land itself was cursed, rather than spreading from person to person the curse was going to affect every normal people. Even weak beginner 1st-order cultivator might be affected.”

”Who could do such a thing?” Julia asked. She could not feel the curse like Riya could by placing her palm on the ground. If she canʼt feel something, then it would be nearly impossible for her to find a cure for it.

”Wait...!!! Donʼt disturb me…..!!!!” Riya closed her eyes as she suddenly sensed something.

Julia noticed that Riyaʼs expression had changed. She was frowning now.

Around ten seconds later, Riya opened her eyes. ”I have found the source of this Curse.”

”Really...!!!!”

”Itʼs located on the northern edge of the City. Come with me...!!!!”

Riya moved at her full speed. But she quickly stopped as she realized that her sister Julia could not keep up with her speed.

『Blessing of Speed....!!!!』

Suddenly a green Aura wrapped around Julia. Julia felt slightly warm.

Looking around her, Julia felt that her reaction speed had increased. She could see things at a much slower pace if she focused on it. It wasnʼt that everything around her had slowed down but Juliaʼs reaction time had gotten faster.

”What did you do?” She asked looking surprised.

”I could bless people. I temporarily give you my blessing. So now your agility has increased by 25%.” Giving people this kind of blessing consumed a lot of Mana. To keep the blessing, Riya was constantly losing her Mana.

”Now come with me.....!!!!” Julia followed Riya.

Scene change_____

Once they reached the northern part of the city, Riya felt that the effect of the curse was stronger in this part of the city. ʼIt must be because the source of the curse is here.ʼ

While passing through, both of them noticed many sick and weak people lying on the side of the street and alleys. By now many people had already lost their lives. Their bodies were lying in the dirty alleys and rooting.

There were many who were coughing severely while coughing their chest. Every normal person that they met looked really pale. Their bodies were really skinny.

”I canʼt even begin to imagine just how many people must have died by now....!!!!!” Riya felt pity for all those who died because of this curse. At the same time, she felt anger in her heart towards the person or people who were responsible for all this.

”Itʼs here.....!!!!”

Eventually, they reached the area where the source of the curse was located. It was an empty grassland. However, Riya and Julia noticed that the green grass on the field had completely withered.

”I am feeling a little bit dizzy for some reason...” Julia held her head and said.

Just being here, Julia felt a little bit dizzy.

”Thatʼs very normal. The source is powerful enough to spread the curse throughout the entire land of this city. Itʼs trying to curse you as well. This is the reason why you are feeling slightly dizzy.”

”What about you? Itʼs not affecting you.” Julia asked.

”I am the Goddess of Nature. Even the strongest curse in the whole world cannot harm a strand of my hair. I am naturally immune to all types of curses.”

”Itʼs here...!!!!” She could feel it.

There was something that had been put inside this land. Riya could feel the land itself suffering. The plants are screaming. All of their vitality was being absorbed by the strange unknown thing that had been put inside the soil.

Riyaʼs eyes suddenly glowed in red color. She snapped her fingers.

Snap.....!!!

She snapped her fingers, and the earth trembled a bit. Then, the ground opened up, forming a square hole. Julia and Riya looked inside the square hole to find a black wooden log that was 20 inches long and 10 inches thick in the square-shaped hole.

The black wooden log had a black miasma around it.

”So this is the source of all problems in the Lionrock city?” Julia said while keeping her distance from this evil thing. She did not feel good just being around this strange black wooden log that had black miasma around it.

It looked like the black miasma around it was being released by the black wooden log.

”What is this?” Julia asked. This was the first time in her life she had seen something like this. She had never heard of any object that was so evil and could spread curse throughout the land

”Let me keep it. I am going to study this order log later.” With the wave of her hand, the log was sucked into Riyaʼs storage ring. As soon as the log vanished, the black miasma in the square-shaped hole also started to dissipate.

”Whatʼs going to happen to the people of this city now?” Julia curiously asked.

”Normally when a land has been cursed, depending on how powerful the curse is, the land will stay cursed for a long period of time. Even though I have taken out the wooden log this land is still cursed.”

”If I were to leave this land like this, then although with time the curse will start getting weaker and weaker, it will still take months if not an entire year for this land to get rid of the curse. Meaning the people of this city will continue to suffer from this curse and the death number will continue to increase.”

”However you are not going to let that happen, are you?” Julia asked with a smile.

Even if Aditya hadnʼt asked about the curse, Riya still would have helped out everyone in the city and would have purified this land using her powers. This was just who Riya was. She was the Goddess of Nature. She was the kindest person that Julia knew. Riya canʼt bear to see innocent people suffering.

At the same time, it wasnʼt as if she was against violence. She wasnʼt naive. She understood that in some cases, violence cannot be avoided. This was just how life went.

Nature can be healing. Nature can be also destructive.

Riya just nodded at her with a smile. She opened again placed her palm on the ground.

『”O Spirit most Holy, heed these words of mine,”

”To cleanse this blighted land, let your light divine,”

”Banish the curse, restore purityʼs shine.”

”Heal the souls in this city, with mercy align..”』

As she chanted the spell, Riyaʼs entire body started glowing in an intense green Aura.

Once she finished chanting, a mix of green and golden color waves of energy spread from her. The green-golden colors of energy spread across the whole of Lionrock City.

The energy wave not only instantly cured the people who were cursed or healed those who were on the brink of death because of this curse, but also purified the land of Lionrock City and its surroundings.

The energy wave was felt by normal people. Although normal people could not see the energy wave, but they suddenly felt warm inside their bodies. As if their bodies were returning back to life. As for the cultivators around the whole city, they were able to see the energy wave. But none of the cultivators were able to pinpoint from which direction this energy wave had come.

Riya had left many in tears from joy. Many questioned themselves. Many hearts are in doubt and filled with questions. And she had saved thousands from the brink of death.
